Adjusting exposure on my Galaxy Fold 2 camera Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:30 AM PDT Hi. Possibly a dumb question but would really appreciate some help. I'm new to Android and Samsung, but am loving my Galaxy Fold 2. I can't work out how to, using the single shot basic camera mode, adjust exposure. On iOS, I could just touch the screen and see a +/- exposure bar but I can't get it to work on my fold. I can do it in single take mode but that insists on doing a video/range of shots. And Samsung's G5 Odyssey claims to have Hdr10, but also saying it supports only 16.7 million colors. I thought Hdr has a minimum of 1 billion colors? Note 20 Ultra phone call issues? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:47 AM PDT So I call my girlfriend a lot, and when we both had iPhones there was rarely issues since we used facetime. Since I got my galaxy I just keep having random issues with the call. Sometimes my speakerphone will turn off without me pressing anything and the button stays green, sometimes a video I'm trying to watch will suddenly get REALLY loud. Like significantly louder than my girlfriend, and I'll turn it down in settings, then it turns itself back down a few seconds later leaving it inaudible. Having a hard time deciding what to upgrade to. Posted: 02 Oct 2020 02:58 AM PDT I have an S8 that is on it's last legs, the battery is at 60% health, the back glass is cracked and my screen has some damaged pixels that I know will inevitably start running. Right now I am considering getting an A71 right this second, but the overthinker in me is telling me to wait until March (since we aren't going out much anyway) for a potential A72. The other problem is that my geeky self is telling me to get an S20 with the same caveat of waiting for a potential S21/S30. But apparently, Google Play services permissions are not listed there! I manually went to the Apps section and then tapped App info for Google Play services, and the app literally has all the permissions turned ON. What the actual fuck Samsung? Posted: 01 Oct 2020 06:57 PM PDT I recently upgraded from my note 9 to a note 20 ultra and after carrying both around to work for the past 2 days since I haven't had time to transfer all my stuff over yet I've noticed the note 20 ultra drains the battery faster than my note 9. After an 10 hr day of work my note 9 went from 100% battery to 75% battery. My note 20 ultra on the other hand went from 100% to 71%. While 4% seems like a small difference the thing I'm concerned about is that my note 9 is 2 years old with heavy daily usage of around ~70-80% battery drain per day so the battery has easily taken a hit of 500+ charge cycles these past 2 years while the note 20 is brand new with a battery that's supposed to be larger than the note 9 according to the specs. For usage I used the note 9 more with it being used for ~6 hrs listening to podcasts through bluetooth and playing a few games during breaks. The note 20 ultra I really only used to browse the internet for ~1 hr tops throughout the day with most of the day being idle since it doesn't have anything on it atm and I mainly bring it just for taking calls atm. I have the Snapdragon 865+ version of the note 20 if that makes a difference for battery usage. Anyone having trouble with battery drain on the note 20 ultra? Watch out when returning things, to Samsung, this will try to get you and keep the money Posted: 01 Oct 2020 08:37 PM PDT I am posting this here, as a word of caution about ordering directly from Samsung. Samsung sales support is generally pretty limited on anything that they can do. They seem to have a strict script to follow, and cant really deviate. So dealing with anything outside of the norm can an exercise in futility. I ordered a Galaxy Watch, I accidentally ordered the wrong color one. So maybe I can just exchange it? They wont do any exchanges so I have to return and then order again. I was ordered in a bundle as well, so to just return the watch, they will give me back $60, and then I would need to pay about $430 to get the new watch. So I would have to pay $370 more for the same thing, just a different color. Not a great deal. So I called up and spoke with them on the phone to just return everything. The total order was $1979.58 (I know, its crazy) and there was also a $100 credit given, so a total of about $1872.58. So I called to return everything, they said fine and they are going to process it. I got an email with the return information. How they processed the refund, I don't know. But whatever witchcraft they did, now they are trying to refund me only $1481.41, about $400 less than I paid. I am returning everything, they sent me one shipping label to send everything back, but two emails to process everything, and somehow they want to keep $400! Anyways, I am sure that I will spend hours talking to them and I give it a 50/50 shot of them actually being able to do something about it. I am on chat with them now and they are saying something about the 4 months of YouTube and Spotify. So watch out ordering directly from Samsung. I really like their products, but every time I have ordered from them (only twice so I realize a small sample size), I have issues. I imagine that this is just a problem with their system, but last time I ordered from them, they never sent the memory card and never did anything about it. So please buy their products so they can keep on making them, I would just buy them from somewhere else like a local store or Amazon. TLDR - ordered phone from Samsung direct, trying to return 5 days later. Their system is trying to give me $400 less than I paid. First of all, I never had any of the Samsung phones in my life. The worker in the store said that you HAVE TO set a fingerprints or face scan to unlock the screen, like no PIN, Swipe, Pattern or Password, only those two. I'm pretty sure that it is a big lie (that was also his first day at work) and you can set whatever lock type you want, but I'm here just to make 100% sure, because I heard that fingerprints or face scan can be a little messy sometimes on A71, especially with glass screen protector.
