(Details in thread) Posted: 01 Oct 2020 08:18 AM PDT I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why my phone has trouble receiving text messages in a group thread every now and then. In short: Sometimes my phone will stop sending and receiving text messages from other users in a group thread. You can't see it unless you go to each individual users text thread where there is a "Downloading Message" icon/message. Here's an example: https://imgur.com/a/jUu9JNI Image 1 is the group thread. In it you can see that my messages aren't being sent. Images 2 and 3 are two specific individuals from that original group thread. Their messages are downloading but I eventually receive errors that they can't be downloaded and I have to go back and redownload them. [link] [comments]  |

| Possibly not getting phone calls Posted: 01 Oct 2020 03:46 PM PDT I have a Pixel 2XL on Android 11 with Google Fi. Normally, when I get a phone call, if I have Gmail open on my desktop, it'll show "incoming voice call" in the bottom right corner of the screen and I can answer or hang up there. My phone will also ring as normal. Today, a Private Number call showed up on my desktop Gmail (Firefox tab), but my phone didn't ring. I didn't pick up the call, and it never showed up in my call history as a missed call on my phone. Later, I got another call (I heard the audio from my desktop), but when I switched over to the Gmail tab, there was no popup in the corner with the phone number or options to answer/decline. My phone also didn't ring again this time either. I don't think it was anything important, but I'm wondering what's going on. Either I'm not getting calls on my phone, or Gmail is acting weird. There seems to be no way of deleting entire home screen pages either. I disabled google as app to no avail. Am I missing something or is it just impossible on some phones? For example these apps History Channel, Nat Geo TV and Discovery GO. But the problem is that I'm not American and I don't have any package from those TV providers. | Help with Motorola customer service Posted: 01 Oct 2020 08:31 PM PDT So I received my Moto edge on 8/5 ,it had the screen defect so I returned it for a replacement and received my 2nd device on 8/11 and again had the defect so I decided to just get a refund and it was delivered to moto on 8/17 and I have not received a refund I talked to moto customer service 3 times now with about 2 weeks in between and they keep telling me "wait 5-10 business days for the refund to show" and today 10/1 I just received an email from FedEx saying I have an order being delivered to me ,I have not ordered anything from them, I'm getting nowhere with customer service,anyone have any advice? After the timer expires and I'm required to check in so my contacts are either notified of my location or not, my phone continually vibrates, but my default notification plays once and that's it. How can I make this a notification like a phone call that keeps going until I answer? Going to the apps notification settings I can only choose "notification" tones and not "ringtones". I am not given the same options as I am for setting the ringtone for a phone call or for when my timer expires in the Google clock app. I downloaded a ringtone from Zedge and it must have gone into my ringtones because it is not available to select for the app's "notification" tone. I want to know if the timer was off if my phone is in a backpack while hiking by continuously playing a loud annoying noise. **If you're using this app also take note that by default it is not set to go through do not disturb mode, so turn that on if you use it. | IPS vs OLED battery life impact Posted: 01 Oct 2020 06:50 PM PDT I've been looking for a new smartphone with a decent battery life. I was looking at the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 7 Pro. I saw that the Redmi had 500 mAh more battery so I thought that it would have a better battery life but everywhere it seems that Realme 7 Pro has equal and even better battery life than the Redmi. I looked at a few "battery drain" test videos on YouTube and they showed the same. Is this down to optimization/faulty testing or does OLED screen save that much power? They both have the same processor and as far as I know screens consume more power than the processor. [link] [comments]  |
| How to delete images saved from Google Images? Posted: 01 Oct 2020 03:02 PM PDT I didn't know about the common Google Search "storage" setting issue people have until a while into having my phone. So I have since FIXED that part of the common problem, but now I have all these images on my phone I can't locate or delete because they literally say "no location". However, when I open an app to attach a picture to say a text message or a tweet, ALL those images are there, cluttering up my images. I've plugged my phone into my pc, I've manually searched for them, I've unhidden files, I've dug through countless folders. I cannot find how to get RID of them. I haven't yet decided whether I want to use it personally as well as for work. But during startup, the first thing I had to do was to log into my work Google account. Next thing is that I need to choose whether to use the phone solely for work or if I want to use it personally as well. I tried to choose personally as well, but then it wants me to log into my personal Google account, and I'm not quite ready for that. So I chose "skip", and then it's back to choose between work only or also personal use. Why can't I make this choice later? Do I really have to make that choice now, before I can use my phone? If so why - what's the point? I'm tempted to just choose work only then, and go get myself a personal phone as well... EDIT: It's a Motorola Edge. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Oct 2020 04:45 PM PDT Please help my s10e was just updated to the new One Ui 2.5 and now the status bar is glitched and keeps disappearing after I start to scroll. This happens on every app even the home screen. Sometimes the status bar will flash by disappearing then quickly reappear before disappearing again. I have restarted my phone several times and cleared my cache. The problem stops when I turn off Hide camera cutout in the display settings but I do not want to leave this setting turned off [link] [comments]  |

After doing some research, all I've been able to find are garbage, suspect looking file recovery programs and all of them require root.
