| Posted: 03 Oct 2020 01:30 PM PDT Hi! I have just bought my Mother a K13 Oukitel and installed Anydesk, set up settings so I can access anytime and installed the recommended add one. My phone is a Samsung S10 plus, again all the recommended add one installed. I can view my Mother's screen absolutely fine but can not control it... It's weird because the first time I tried I could and it worked perfectly. No matter what settings I fiddle with I can seem to get it working. HELP please. | VoIP services make system audio quality severely worse. Posted: 03 Oct 2020 05:51 PM PDT Hi, I am not sure how to format posts on here as this is my first time posting on the AndroidQuestions Reddit page. Today I wanted to bring up an issue that seems to affect many Android users but no one seems to be talking about. When you use a VoIP service and have it go through the speaker all audio will be severely worse. To recreate this you can open up discord while having music playing (whether it is on Spotify, youtube music, or somewhere else, matter it does not). Join any voice call, and then for the audio output select anything but the phone. That means it can be a speaker, wired headphones, or whatever else it shows for you. After a few seconds, you will most likely notice a degrade in audio quality. The music will have no bass, it will sound almost as tho the volume of the music is changing a little bit really fast. I have found a few posts about this on different forums, mostly related to the Samsung S8, but when I asked my friends who have other Android phones they have the same issues. Seems to be an issue on Samsung S8 and newer, some Huawei phones, Most Xiaomi Phones, LG phones, and probably many others. Has anyone found a solution to this? Do you have this problem? Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:43 PM PDT All I've ever used is Android, and over the past decade I've learned to put off updates whenever possible because eventually an update is pushed that is truly one update more than your phone's hardware truly should have gotten, making your phone molasses. After a recent factory reset, I've been going through the updates one by one, not certain where I was on my last config. Any current or former Note 8 users have any opinion on what the last (user) recommended OS version would be for optimal performance, before lagging diminishing returns begin? [link] [comments]  |
| Work profile and device admin access on Android 11 Posted: 03 Oct 2020 09:52 PM PDT I've recently started using Outlook again for my work email, although not by choice. I'm on a pixel 3 running Android 11. Since my work email requires admin access for remote wipe abilities, which I obviously do not want to enable, I'm using the Island app to trigger a work profile that I can quarantine a copy of Outlook to. I was reading some documentation about the depreciation of Device Admin in favor of managing a work profile, and I've run into a few questions I can't seem to answer:
2a. If it's an api targeting issue, which app would need to target the proper api level to not use device admin - island or Outlook? [link] [comments]  |
| Trying to recover data off a phone with no battery Posted: 03 Oct 2020 09:10 PM PDT xiaomi mi max. Unlocked and rooted. no battery (ribbon cable snapped). If i power on normally it will just bootloop. I can get into fastboot but not twrp I've tried fastboot boot twrp.img but it seems to exit fastboot and go back into the bootloop. Running adb reboot recovery says error: no devices/emulators found. Short of buying another battery I'm not sure what else to try [link] [comments]  |

| Trying to figure out which system app keeps track of my phone's pedometer. Details below. Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:59 PM PDT Hey guys, thanks for reading. My phone is an LG G8X. I have the dual screen so I can run multiple apps at once. I used an app called Island to duplicate apps. It creates a separate "Work" profile on your phone that can only communicate with apps that you duplicate to your "Work" profile. Now, my island app automatically duplicated all the system apps it needed to, to function properly. Here's my problem: I play Pokemon Go religiously, and I always have adventure sync on. My original game logs and tracks distance with adventure sync no problem. But, my "Work" Pokemon GO doesn't. I believe the problem is either that my phone can only support one adventure synced app at a time, or that the system app that logs my distance walked in the background, was not duplicated. I need help identifying which system app is responsible for this so I can attempt to remedy my problem. Thank you again for any assistance. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 03 Oct 2020 07:56 PM PDT So for the past couple of days I've been stuck in some sort of tech support loop. The camera on my Pixel 2XL stopped working. The camera app itself just keeps crashing and apps that utilize the camera just show a Black screen. I contacted Google via chat from my phone and after troubleshooting steps had me email a bug report. They asked from my IMEI so I sent it, then they told me my device wasn't listed under my account and to start a new chat with the account registered to my phone. But I have no other account that my phone would be registered to. So I went on my phone started a new chat using the reference id, they told me they would email me, then the email says the device isn't registered to my account and to start a new chat using the account my device is registered. My phone is straight from Google and I haven't used any other account with this phone. The account I'm using is the one I set the phone up with. The only issue I can think is that my phone was a refurbished phone sent to me from Google when I used my Google Fi Device Protection and somehow the device is still connected to whoever had it before refurbishment. I don't even know if that's possible, but I've gone through this loop of starting a new chat, telling them this is my only account and then telling me to start a new chat like 3 or 4 times. So now not only is my camera not working, I have a device that's registered to some account and I have no idea how or why. Anyone else ever experience this before? And anyone have any advice how how to fix my camera? I've done every troubleshooting steps I could except for factory reset It but now I'm not sure if is gould do that or not with how things are going with my IMEI. [link] [comments]  |

Sometimes while using music apps it won't display that songs are playing on the always on display or in the quick settings. When this happens, it won't let me pause or skip to the next song. | Why does my pixel not tell me when my text was sent when my phone is off? Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:04 PM PDT I have the same carrier, but I remember many years ago I had a galaxy s5 that would tell me when the text was initially sent. For example: I turn my phone off at 4. Someone sends me a text at 4:15. I turn on my phone at 5. My old phone would tell me the text was sent at 4:15. Now my Pixel 3 tells me that it was sent when my phone was turned on (5p), which isn't true. Why does it do this? Is this a carrier thing? Can I fix it? [link] [comments]  |
| Trying to backup photos from broken S8 Posted: 03 Oct 2020 03:08 PM PDT My S8 touchscreen broke, I can still see the screen as normal just the touch function is completely gone, and I'm trying to backup my photos to either google photos or transfer them to my new phone, Note20. I feel like I've exhausted all options. The people at the ATT store couldn't do it, I've tried multiple phone screen mirroring apps all to no avail since I can't enable USB debugging. Also, the OTG on my phone is not working, even in safe mode, so I can't control it with a mouse. I tried DrFone but it does not appear to support the S8. Any suggestions on how to mirror the screen without debugging or how to get OTG to work again would be fantastic. [link] [comments]  |

| How do I disable text message confirmations on my Galaxy Watch? Posted: 03 Oct 2020 02:38 PM PDT I use Messages+ for texting and I am in a couple group texts with my family (all of whom use iPhones) and anytime I send a text, my watch starts buzzing for 30-60s as I get a text delivery confirmation from everyone in the group. | S9 plus won't unlock after update Posted: 03 Oct 2020 10:33 AM PDT So I updated my phone right, and when it's finished it doesn't let me unlock my phone because when I try to put the password, it lets me in for about 2 seconds then redirects me to the lock screen again. This has happened to me before but it was resolved by itself and IDK how. That time it only took about 2 hours, now I left it like this overnight and I wake up to find it the same as it was before I went to bed. I hope someone can help because I can't open my phone now. | How to store a file exported from an app to my smartphone internal storage Posted: 03 Oct 2020 01:39 PM PDT When I try to export files from a few different Android apps, the "Complete action using" option comes up and it lists options such as "Save to Drive", "Gmail", "Bluetooth", and other options, but none of the 19 options let me store the file directly onto my phone's internal storage. Is there a way to add this into the list of "Complete action using" options so I can do the export without needing an internet connection? [link] [comments]  |
