Chat wars: Mud meets mmo meets social engineering

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 02:45 PM PDT

Some of you might be old enough to remember MUD games, for those that don't, think text rpg but multiplayer. Take a pinch of that but then add thousands of players, rather than 2 or 3. The premise is kinda simple, do quests(some of the quests are quite funny) , level up, get better gear, pick between 6 classes- then every 8 hours the various factions have a battle, castles get broken into, things get stolen, or armies are warded off at the gates and the attackers can loose hard won equipment. Every now and then there's an event whereby players are doing anything from baking cakes, chaoticly trying to chain letters together to spell words, matching gems to jewellery, fighting bonfire monsters(I'm still not 100%) on how that one worked.

More than that, behind everything, is the meta game. I think eve is the closest thing there is to it. How the castles are run is completely down to the players. There are spies, double agents, people being bribed for early attack orders. People getting banned for offering irl lunch for in game items. I've made friends from Brazil to Ghana to Singapore playing that game. Its all done inside the telegram messenger app, there's no pay to win or pay to play, and I think it's the best free game there is. If you want to say hi, join the deers, we are lovely (but I can't say I've had a bad time at any castle I've been to), and I can't believe it's not more popular than it is.

    Ccg suggestion: Athenion

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 04:53 PM PDT

I've been playing mobile CCG games since before hearthstone had an app (yay splashtop). I came across this game from a comment left by someone else. It's kind of like hearthstone meets duelyst (if anybody remembers that one) meets gwent.

You make your deck out of faction and neutral cards with your typical card rarities. What makes this game stand out to me is placement, draw, and mana system.

You start each turn with 3 mana. It replenishes every turn and theres no need for lands like magic. Cards dont cost more than 3, and since you start with 3 you can drop your bombs t1 which isnt a good idea.

You fill your hand back up each turn so there isn't always an incentive to hold onto your cards.

Cards can only attack other cards if their arrows points in the direction of an enemy, and they only attack each enemy once. Your opponents minions will attack back, if their arrows allow, but only once. Following initial combat they will only attack new or moved cards. Health doesnt typically regen.

You deal damage to your opponent at the start of your turn based on the cumulative mana cost of the cards you have left on the board.

Each faction feels unique because they rely on their own faction specific abilities. I've been playing the green guys. Sure they have a real name. Their abilities focus on backstab (attacking an enemy that cant attack you back) and moving minions around (to enable backstab typically).

Theres a good (rewarded) tutorial and there seems to be a fair number of things to do in the game.

Plenty of packs to crack if you're starting out. I've played a couple hours the past few days and already have a few legendaries and a fair number of epics.

All that said, give it a shot. I'm no expert but it's a fun twist on ccgs.

Bow Land. So i finished story mode at 1 week and started challenges. After 57 rounds of first map it gave me 4.7k gold. Even 30 second ads gives 2.3k gold. I think this should be fixed. And do you know the max level for items?

Looking for suggests for a monster game like the throwback (Jade Cacoon)psx

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 06:56 AM PDT

So I've had a real itch to play an RPG/action game on an Android platform with a lot of the Jade Cacoon elements in it. Does anything like this exist? I'd primarily like to capture different random monsters, raise them up and pick their skills, evolve them or even merge with other raised monsters to come out with a new random monster. Not really interested in a puzzle based game where you have to l align gems or stones or any of that crap. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Need help about an old game

    Posted: 03 Aug 2020 10:22 AM PDT

I used to play a puzzle game about 4-5 years ago, it's about guiding these weird walking white jellyfish (?) spirits by growing vines. I remember liking it because it has a calm vibe to it but I can't recall the name of the game. Anyone has any ideas?
