Phone: Mi 10 Youth Edition (Lite Zoom)

    ROM: 12.0.3.0 (CN ROM)

    Synopsis:

One-year-old daughter was up at 02.00 this morning for hunger/thirst and unplugged phone from battery at 100%. Ran it for 20.5h today (22.30 now).

Standard usage for me: FB, Browsing, WhatsApp video calls, Phone calls, 30min of videosade with the stock camera app and saved. Many photos. Standard stuff. 2h of streaming radio through speakers while cooking and doing DIY. 1h SoundCloud and YouTube Bluetooth to phones.

    7h SOT and 13.5h standby.

Battery dropped from 100% to 35%.

10h of SOT is quite realistic. Or 8h SOT and 28h standby on a single charge for 2 days of usage.

The new battery system settings only reports the last 24h so I took the opportunity to record a longer than usual day as I found 2 full days hard to interpret with the new battery settings screens.

In that end, I don't see any loss in battery life going MIUI 11 to 12 as on 11 I would get 8h SOT over 2 days or 10h SOT over a shorter period.

Regardless, hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed my synopsis.

    r/Xiaomi Bi-Weekly Photography Thread

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:57 PM PDT

Welcome to r/Xiaomi's Bi-Weekly Photography Thread!

Please use this thread to share photos and videos taken with Xiaomi devices and discuss photography, including camera hardware and software (such as GCam ports). Photos and videos don't have to come from a Xiaomi phone, you can post anything taken with a Mi Ecosystem product, let it be a smartphone, drone or action camera. However, if you post something taken with a Xiaomi phone, please share your phone model, ROM, camera app and camera settings as well. In case of a GCam port, please also detail the app version.

Media about Xiaomi products, like unboxing photos or video reviews, don't fall into the category of photography and should be submitted individually, outside of this thread.

On Reddit Redesign, you can directly embed media in a comment but if you wouldn't like to rely on Reddit, you can use any other website, such as Imgur, Flickr or YouTube, just make sure to post a direct link to your content.

The bi-weekly thread will be unstickied and replaced by a new thread every second Monday at midnight (UTC).

Thanks for reading and happy sharing!

Miui 12 First Impression on Redmi K20(Indian Variant)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:23 AM PDT

So I have manually downloaded the package and installed Miui Successfully. Here's my first impressions.

    1. Phone feels overall smoother.

    2. Fingerprint speed hasn't changed but it's very consistent.

    3. No new Miui Recent App animation. No clue why.

    4. Old Status Bar has new drop down animation.

    5. New Status Bar feels very laggy. Tried rebooting but no change.

    6. No bottom bar navigation in full screen gestures. Seriously?

    7. RAM performance seems to be the same.

    8. Can't judge on battery this early.

    9. No Miui Font yet. No clue why.

    10. Liked the 'About Phone' section. Very clean IMO.

When you open the app will it do an update automatically without asking or do you have a choice to say no ? Asking because I'll be downgrading so I can de restrict it and want to know whether the app will over ride the old firmware without asking

    Redmi Note 7 camera problem

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 02:01 PM PDT

I've been experiencing this problem for a quite some time now. The camera can't start working until I reboot the phone. After reeboting it works fine. Does anyone else have the same problem and is there a way to solve it?

Is it worth it to upgrade from a Oneplus 5t to a Xioami Mi 10 Note Lite?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 03:24 PM PDT

Is it worth it to upgrade from a Oneplus 5t to a Xioami Mi Note 10 lite? I love my Oneplus 5t but its starting to wear out it has various different burn in marks and the camera glass that protects the lens fell off at some point making the main camera almost unusable. Also I don't mind Xioami's UI I actually think is kinda cool looking, and I think at 300 is a great price even though I wish it had a 90hz screen and more pixels per inch.

    Redmi Note 8 Ghost Touch

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 02:40 PM PDT

I bought a Redmi Note 8 brand new and after a few days the ghost touch thing started. I searched around and I didn't find a fix and people said that is a software issue. So anyone knows if by installing a custom rom the problem goes away?

Xiaomi Note 8 Pro Mobile Data Problem.

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:48 AM PDT

Starting from yesterday when I went out I sometimes need to restart my phone because mobile data stops working. I have been using this phone in January and this is the first time it has happened. It happened today as well when I went out and wanted to use mobile data.

It's worth mentioning that I recently upgraded it to MIUI Global 11.0.4 earlier this week.

I want to buy the Xiaomi mi Band 5 but I just found out only the Chinese version is out, I saw videos that said I can change the language from Chinese to English for the mi Band 4 but I haven't seen anything about the 5. Is it adviceable to buy one, or are there any other problems I could face?

Play Store crashing on my Redmi Note 8 Pro

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 01:54 PM PDT

I have to specify that it crashes only when I scroll to the end of the "For You" page when it tries to load the other entries. That's where it goes not responding. Everywhere else its fine, I have no problems, but it still is annoying that the app crashes there.

I tried clearing the data of the play store and the services but it didn't work. Anyone has had this problem before?

    Thank you in advance.

Redmi 7A stops responding/loading/copying files one minute after connected to PC

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 10:51 AM PDT

Title says pretty much everything. The moment I connect it, it works. If I open up folders or copy files, it's okay. More or less one minute later, it stops responding. I get empty folders and any copying try gives me an infinite loading window. I have to disconnect and reconnect it every time. Any way to fix this?
Using W10, already as developer on Android.

My charger isn't working (XIAOMI MI 9T)

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 01:01 PM PDT

I used a few days ago a pair of USB Type C earphones and now when I use the charger it says it can't play audio. I don't really know what to do. It worked fine until today. Can someone help? the charger cable doesn't charge my phone and I had to plug it into my laptop to charge it. What do I do? It is because of an error from the phone or I ruined my charger by using the earphones? help :(

I'm in the process of searching for a new phone.. Is the redmi note 9 pro max worth the extra price over the redmi note 8 pro? In comparisons I've seen that they are pretty identical in performance.
