Knowing Xiaomi, do you think the poorly stabilization of Redmi Note 9S can change drastically and make it a better phone than Mi 9T?

Recent update failed to install. Corrupted.

    Redmi Note 8 troubles

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:51 PM PDT

In terms of power, the redmi note 8 is much better than any of my previous phones, but there's a huge problem. My phone doesn't accept Straight Talk or Verizon. When I bought it online from walmart , it claimed to be unlocked, but it clearly is not even with a brand new SIM card.

I am very upset, and unless someone provides a good explanation then I will never purchase a Xiaomi product again.

    Xiaomi phones in 2020

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:56 AM PDT

I feel like understanding why a company does something helps me accept the things I dislike. This is what I have learned from reading reddit posts and chatting with fell xiaomi fans regarding price increases and their approach to marketing. I'd love to hear any other points that are related to the ones below:

    1. Times have changed. Hardware components are now more expensive. Therefore the consumer must fork our more money. For example 5g modems and camera lenses.

    2. Xiaomi now has enough of the market share and reputation to increase their profit margin like many others have done before them. There are enough people content to spend +£$1000 on a phone. Why wouldn't they want to access this subgroup of buyers. The are cashing in on "the phone must be better if it costs more" mentality.

    3. Mid range phones have become so good that more "lavish" features are required to separate the high end phones form mid rangers. Antutu bench marks may differ, but in day to day performance the difference between mid and high are negligible.

    4. Some previous xiaomi phones strongly over delivered for the price. Some notorious phones were pocophone f1 and redmi k20 pro. This may have set xiaomi up to fail as fans we expect more and more for a similar price.

    5. Xiaomi no longer wants to just be seen as a largely budget/mid range brand in the west. Marketing strategies change accordingly

Hi I've got the Xiaomi Mi airdots 2 for about 1 week and now the left one is much quieter than the right one. I tried several times to disconnect and reset the airpods but nothing worked. Did somebody has the same problem and has an answer?

    Xiaomi mi 9t random reboots

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:05 PM PDT

    Hello everyone

I'm a bit out of ideas here. I bought a xiaomi mi 9t a couple of months ago. After a month the phone randomly crashed and rebooted when using Facebook messenger, since then it randomly crashes, it does happen with messenger often but also with other apps, once even happened after a few minutes in the sun without using. Playing game or doing video calls. The most annoying thing is that sometimes the reboots take over 20 minutes.

What I have tried so far:

    • I did factory reset
    • I updated miui official rom
    • I used bootloader to flash the miui rom again after data and system wipe
    • I flashed a new rom using twrp, that I'm currently using, pixel experience. Since yesterday

How yesterday I was installing apps and after installing messenger it crashed again. I uninstalled messenger and after a few hours it rebooted too. This time the reboots are very quick but I don't know if it might change in the future.

Did this happened to anyone before? I have thoroughly searched for solutions but I haven't found any yet

    Thank you so much

    Airpods Pro

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 07:00 PM PDT

Hey there. I own a Xiaomi mi 8 Lite and I want a pair of Airpods Pro but I don't know if they will work. Has anyone tried this configuration? (mi 8 Lite + airpods pro) I've read things like the sound is way too lowered down in comparison to iPhone. Im choosing between airpods pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds+. Also I'm planning to change to an iPhone later (like a year or so)

Mi note 10 still worth it? (after the recent reveals)

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:58 PM PDT

Tomorrow there's gonna be a sale on the MI site with the mi note 10 priced 399euros, do you think the phone is still worth it or seeing the recent reveals is better to wait and see on the Mi 10lite? I can't find another phone in the same price range (500€) that has a decent stabilized camera, maybe op7t but I'm reading that the camera it's not so great (and software support wasn't very good lately). Any help is appreciated, and BTW I'm upgrading from a mate 10 pro, thanks all

What happened to Ultra Power Saving mode?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 06:47 PM PDT

Xiaomi was suppose to add it in MIUI 11 but never released it on stable builds. Now, MIUI 12 is coming.

Was the feature ditched or is it only available on very select phone models?

MIUI 12 is very competitive based on Android OS and even surpasses iOS in some respects. I have upgraded Mi10 Pro to MIUI 12 and this super wallpaper is very popular [@UniverseIce]

    MiTV 4 Ethernet problem

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:56 PM PDT

Does everyone experiencing this issue in this Mi TV 4 55-inch 4K (MiTV-AXSO2)?

Currently running SW version build : PI.4217 with 4.9.113 kernel.

This thing happens to me while am going to try to stream 4K movies over network. Using VLC, i got a ton of dropped frames and buffering screen.

And then, I tried pushing a files to a HDD on TV using network, it only get like <20Mbps over ethernet. On WLAN, i get around 40~60Mbps. But then I tried to pull some files from the TV, I get around 90Mbps over ethernet (which is fine, as i'm aware that the TV only has Fast Ethernet) and 120Mbps over WLAN. My router it a gigabit router with wireless AC 1750.

Is this an issue? or hardware capability limitation of the SoC?

To be honest, i preferred wired connections whenever possible. I'll use wireless as my last resort if (and only if) this kind of issue isn't fixed in the future.
