Should I just Wipe my Hard Drive?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:20 AM PST

Context... - I've been using a 1TB hard drive for the past 2 years on my desktop. - Most recently I bought a 500GB SSD. - My intentions were to just run my OS, and a few choice games, on the SSD while still relying on my hard drive for general storage. - I set up the SSD and fresh installed Windows 10 on the SSD, though the HDD still has the same Windows 10 it had before. Haven't figured out how to uninstall Windows off the HDD yet.

Issues... - Since this morning my computer has been giving me errors when I tried booting the SSD when yesterday it worked just fine booting the OS on the SSD. Cannot get SSD to boot. - My computer keeps changing the boot order to the hard drive. Though it's possible I didn't set up the boot order correctly in the first place. - My hard drive is giving me issues all of a sudden. Certain apps won't run for strange reasons, I have to prove I'm administrator to access certain files.

At this point I have half a mind to just go the nuclear route - wipe my hard drive and reinstall windows on my SSD. There are only a few save files and documents I want to preserve which I can just stuff onto a USB. However...

Concerns & Questions... - My hard drive is almost filled to capacity. Will wiping and then redownloading everything be tough on the hardware? - How do I make sure my computer boots to the SSD as first priority? - Is there anything else I should do or make sure of before executing code nuclear?

Firefox print to PDF using "Microsoft Print to PDF" files don't look right.

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:28 AM PST

I'm trying to print a webpage to a PDF file from Firefox. Can anyone suggest a PDF printer that is accurate and will print like it's shown in your browser - like if you took a bunch of "print screens"?

After I print to PDF and open it up, I see a lot of text that is on top of other text, incorrect margins, extra pages with only one line of text that is in the wrong font, or text that "runs off" the page like someone turned off the "wrap text" feature.

I've had this issue for awhile now, and I've only now just posted about it. Hope this can help out a lot of other people too.

Hi! I recently set up a monitor which I connected to a gaming laptop. However the screen doesn’t fit onto the monitor. I tried changing the resolution but none of them fit. Help?

    Video_Scheduler_Internal_Error - Tech Help - Windows 10

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 08:44 PM PST

    Hello,

I was playing PoE and suddenly I got this BSOD with the message you see on the title.

After that every time I restarted, windows would freeze after a few seconds and get this BSOD again.

    Things I have tried:

-Removing the nvidia drivers with DDU and installing them again (Windows freeze on driver install)

-Reinstalling Windows 10 and trying to install drivers again (Windows freeze on driver install)

-Starting windows without the Switchable Graphics (Works fine but the nvidia card is disabled)

-Check for disk errors and system file checker to check if everything is fine

The machine is a laptop i7 4720HQ+960m nvidia

Is it possible my video card got fried or something? Any info would be appreciated.

Accessing apps and files of hdd from ssd...

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:35 PM PST

I've been using a 1TB hdd for the past 2 years until I learned my computer's performance could be improved if I bought an ssd and downloaded the OS (Windows 10) to said ssd.

I've successful managed to hook up a 500GB ssd to my rig and fresh download my OS to it, but now it seems my desktop has become barren. Where is my old windows profile? Where are all my applications? Where are my files?

Yes, I still have access to my hdd and I understand that all my old data is still technically on it. But why don't I have access to all my old stuff like I used to? Do I have a misled understanding of how the ssd is supposed to access and interact with the hdd?

I wanted to use my ssd solely for the OS and a few choice videogames while still using my hdd for everything else - I'm trying to be very stingy with my ssd use. Can I not run applications downloaded on the hdd from the ssd? What do I have to do get my old stuff back while still relying on the hdd as the main storage?
