Question: Solid-State Batteries Possibly for S20?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 08:13 AM PST

A few years back, In this article from 2017 as well as this one on this article from XDA. The road map for incorporating solid state batteries in Samsung phones was laid out to come to fruition in 2020.

Could this affect the S20? Or would it be held out for the note 20? I am holding onto my note 8 until this majorly advanced battery technology becomes a factor in my phone buying process.

For those that don't know, Solid-State batteries are just that, they don't use liquid electrolytes like lithium-ion batteries do. Which means, they are less volatile. You could get a 10,000 mAh solid-state battery in the same space that would typically be occupied by a 5,000 mAh lithium-ion. They are also FAR less prone to degradation and can be charged faster. Where a lithium-ion battery would warrant consideration for replacement after 3-4 years, a Solid-State battery could make it to 10 years with almost no change in performance.

I am fairly surprised this technology isn't getting more recognition.

Order status not updating, due for delivery today

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 06:33 AM PST

I ordered a Note 10+ and it was due to ship yesterday and I chose Express shipping so due for delivery today. When I check the status, it still says "order placed" and has not updated since I placed the order on Saturday morning.

Normally, I wouldn't worry too much about this, but I need to have it redirected to the FedEx store so I can pick it up when I get home because I don't know that someone will be home when they're planning on delivering it.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do?

Samsung A51 vibration intensity option missing.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 09:11 AM PST

    Hi.

I just got my Samsung A51 yesterday, and I noticed the vibration is quite weak when I got a new message, so I went to settings to increase the intensity but there simply isn't an option to do so.

This is how it looks on my phone

From what I've seen there should be an option below the "Vibration pattern" to increase or decrease the intensity.

Anyone else with a A51 can confirm it's missing?

Also my phone has no new updates it could install.

How to safely root my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10 inch tablet?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 03:14 AM PST

What's the best way to root my tablet? I was reading the XDA forums and they said with the SuperSU method you need to press the home button and power button at the same time while its turned off and plugged into a PC. But my tablet doesn't have a dedicated home button and I was wondering how does it work? Is there a different method? Sorry if this is breaking the rules.

Edit: I found out the Samsung browser lets you install add ons like Adblock plus and Adguard and it seems to work when watching youtube through it.

Security Policy Auto Update - All KNOX through a proxy?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:24 AM PST

    Hello

Apologies if I've misread it. But this morning a new TOS popped up on my phone about the use of KNOX specifically. It stated that auto security policy updates requires knox app traffic to go through a Samsung proxy service? This can't be true.

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:23 AM PST

I just switched from an s6 active to an s8, and this screenshot function is driving me insane. Every day i take accidental screenshots because of where the secind button is on the phone. Please, is there a way to just disable screensots all together? I never take any anyways so i wont be missing out. Its just getting very annoying having this button right by my hand and taking pictures of my lockscreen and phone screen etc
