[REQUEST] Looking for a timesink game, like Factorio or Minecraft

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:04 PM PST

I'm looking for something I can jump into anytime and work on building a world. Something where you start small and slowly build up resources that let you get better resources and build better things. I used to play for hours in Factorio, but these days I'm not really able to get to the PC much.

Minecraft obviously fits the bill, but it gives me such a hand cramp to play on the virtual on-screen controller, I'd rather something I could play more casually. I've tried Dont Starve, but that's such a struggle to survive it's not quite as relaxing as I'd hope for. Pocket City is good if basic, but I've pretty much finished that.

I've just found Pocket Build anyone know if it's any good..?

Thanks very much for any suggestions.

Defenders Chronicles like games (tower defence RPG)

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:43 PM PST

My favourite mobile game ever was back in the days of ipod touches and the original galaxies. It was a tower defence RPG in which you had a hero in each stage that leveled up and could be equipped with items. The overall goal was to complete each stage with maximum stars.

I've never found anything like it in the many years since, do you guys know of anything similar?

Town builder, land clearing game similar to "Merge Dragons!"

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 06:03 AM PST

    Hi all!

A long time ago when I still had a facebook account, I played... I think it was called Gnometown. Was Farmville style, with the addition of clearing the land around your base through... something. I can't recall the exact mechanics.

I recently got into the game Merge Dragons! on my phone, as something to do when waiting on things. It's fun to play, but it's got to the point where the cash shop push is becoming an actual impediment to playing. I've got to swipe cash stuff away several times before I get to things I can buy with the in-game coins, and it's just too much.

So I'd like to find some other game that has similar mechanics!

Base builder of some sort, to make resources, that's friendly to idling - not Stardew Valley, by example, I can't dedicate the time to play it right on my phone. So automatic resources in some way, through buildings that improve over time and are upgraded. Merge Dragons did this bit through a merge3 sysem, but plain paid upgrades are also fine.

Exploration! Of.. .some sort. The big thing I want out of this is the "clearing/revealing more land around the base and getting stuff out of it"

Online/Offline doesn't matter, though if it's a multiplayer battler of some sort, I'd rather pvp be completely optional, not a fan of that.

Paid/Free... these games tend to be full of microtransactions, I don't think I've ever heard of a buy-to-play mobile one. I'm definitely willing to pay for such a game, if it means I won't get blasted with obnoxious shop ads everywhere. But a free one is also ok as long as it's not too crazy and it's still possible to progress without paying.

[REQUEST] Pinball-y game like Monster Strike or Hyper Heroes

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:35 PM PST

Preferably a game that is/can be:

    • Free*

    • Multiplayer

    • Pinball, brickbreak-aim sort of game that isnt as simple as that

    • Not tied in to a specific franchise (as in an anime gacha in this genre)

I enjoyed the short lived global Monster Strike. I played Hyper Heroes for a bit before putting some cash in and realizing I would need to put 100x that amount be "good".

I really enjoy the active game play of aiming that little ricocheting character, leveling up, combos, etc. I'm in love with games I enjoy and can support with things like ad-free upgrades or even a small upfront cost, but would prefer to stay away from the pseudo-gacha that is Hyper Heroes.

Are there any decent games that scratch this itch?

    Arkanoid/Breakout Type Games Recomendations

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:44 AM PST

    Hi everyone.

So I have this odd love of Arkanoid type games. You know, paddle on the bottom of the screen. Ball bouncing back and forth between paddle and floating bricks. Powerups to help destroy those bricks.

Was curious about what are some of the best Android games that follow this formula. Ir recommendation for games who put a twist on the Brick Breaker formula. I've played Smashy Brick and I loved it! I love the twist how you have to draw a line to serve as a paddle and its cartoony presentation.

Cant wait to check out whatever gets recommended!

[DEV] Blacksmith shop manager (Work in progress)

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:09 AM PST

Hi guys. I would like to show you game that I am working at. It will be lightweight android javascript game where you have to manage your blacksmith shop - hire/sack workers, assign duties (exploring, hunting, mining, herb gathering or working for you blacksmith machines), collect items, find new recipes, craft gear, sell it to you shop visitors, earn money, upgrade machines and unlock new territories.

Here are some more details what I have now and what is in my mind.

    Workers

    https://i.imgur.com/E8KhFMS.png

    https://i.imgur.com/m716u6O.png

Here you can hire or sack workers. Available workers to hire list will refresh few times a day (not sure how often), or you will be able to refresh that manually with money. Higher skill means higher chance to find or craft higher quality items.

    Exploring

    https://i.imgur.com/69bN38C.png

Here you can assign some of your workers to go exploring and collect items for your crafting recipes. You can specify area and priority for explorer. There will be in game database where you will be able to see area and available items in that area. Explorers will be collecting items while game is closed at your idle time.

    Inventory

    https://i.imgur.com/1cWW8PK.png

Nothing special. Check what you have. When you click on item, popup will show more info (value, where it can be found and etc.)

    Crafting

    https://i.imgur.com/iAs5vtP.png

    https://i.imgur.com/RC13r3a.png

    https://i.imgur.com/LAsf6hb.png

Here you can assign your workers to machines, select crafting recipe if you meet it's requirements and start crafting items you want or your shop visitors need. Quality of result item may depend on your workers skills

Shop - No screenshot Here you can place crafted items in you shop shelves to sell them. Also check visitors that are in your shop and their needs

Database - No screenshot You will be able to search items that you are missing for our crafting recipes and check where to send explorers to find them.

Upgrades - No screenshot Here you will be able to use your money and upgrade your machines, upgrade shop - increases inventory size, increase workers capacity, increase shop shelves capacity that holds items for sell, maximum visitors capacity and so on.

Latter I am planing to add more features like market demands with statistics (some hours weapons sell for more money than armor and etc), maybe some daily quests (sell items for certain amaunt, satisfy few customer needs, sell required number of items), leaderboards for most expensive sold item each day and other new features.

At the moment it is more proof of concept and a lot of things will change that are in screenshots.

What do you guys think about this game? Would it be interesting for you to play, will you give it a try, any ideas or suggestions?

    Forgotten Hill: Disillusion Review

    Nobodies Impression/Review

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:31 PM PST

This game came out a while ago but then was taken off the app store. It came back on quite recently with a lot of new content and changes.

The first is that this new game has 11 missions instead of 5. It's more content to play with more puzzles. There's also a pager and map which you can access the missions from.

Gameplay is like the original, but then again, there is no reason for it to change. Everything must be put exactly as it was found or else the mission's medal will not be awarded. I think that adds a little challenge to the game because there are many times I've forgotten to close a door, put something back, etc.

Overall, I think the game is an improvement from the last and is worth the 2.99 (for 5 days its 1.49). I'd recommend it to anyone with a love of Point-and-Click games.

I'd love to hear your thoughts below. Or if you disagree, let's talk.

The Swords of Ditto off sale price?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 11:28 AM PST

Hey guys, found this game on the play store but the games title is "The Swords of Ditto - on sale for a limited time". I checked the price though and it's $6 but from what I've seen on Reddit that's the normal price, right? Should I hold off until it's back on sale or is this as good as it gets?

Old games render to the left, is there a way to force them to render to the middle of the display?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:11 PM PST

So I recently got my first beefy phone and decided to try a few old games that I really wanted to play for a while but couldn't because of the crap phone I had before. Thing is, my new phone has an ultrawide display, and these old titles that do still work just render to the left of the screen.

Only of these games I got a response from the dev, was ravensword 2, and all I got was an offer for a refund, which I declined.

A little more info, my phone's a redmi mi 9T and has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio (so there's a biiig empty space on the right side), runs on android 9 and I seriously doubt I can get the devs of these games to help me out. I know there are other games out there, but I never got to fully enjoy these and really want to at least give them a good long session. The fact that they are so far to the right does make for a really uncomfortable experience.

Oh, I also don't have root, plan on running stock for at least a few months.
