Just bought my first Xiaomi. Wow... Posted: 11 Dec 2019 02:11 PM PST I've actually upgraded from my Galaxy Note 9 to one of those Mi 9 phones for £300. I'm amazed. Best phone I've ever had...and I love this MIUI thing...really don't understand the hate. It's so silky smooth and actually looks and feels way better than stock Android. I'm a fan [link] [comments] |
X-graded from Pixel 2 to MI A3 Posted: 11 Dec 2019 12:47 AM PST So, my Pixel 2 finally crapped out after a year and a half of use. The screen went all rainbow coloured before finally giving up for good and thus I looked around online for a phone that could get for cheap and just get by with it. I settled on MI A3 for 180 bucks and here are my thoughts after 4 days of usage. Screen: too much ado has been made about the screen and to be honest it really does not matter to me. Sure, at first it was very slightly jarring but I have gotten used to it and to think I could get the same OLED panel that my 700 bucks pixel 2 had for 180 bucks is insane! Not to mention much larger screen that compensates for the drop in resolution. Build: Pixels are a straight rip off. Cannot believe I paid 700 for a 2012 design. This phone blows pixel 2 out of the water when it comes to looks. Performance: I don't notice any discernible difference between the snapdragon 835 of pixel 2 and the SoC of this phone. It is smooth in regular day to day usage although I cannot vouch for gaming cause I gave it up a while ago. On top of that, it has the same Android that Google puts on their overpriced phones. Camera: Cameras are quite good and I personally prefer the selfies from the stock cam than the Gcam mod. For photos captured from my rear camera I use cstark's Gcam mod and it is very nearly as good as pixel 2. Battery: This is the single biggest reason why this phone pisses all over the so called flagship that Google put out in 2017. I never knew this battery life could be achieved: 30 percent battery and 7 hours of SOT off a single full charge. Bonkers! So, for me this definitely feels like an upgrade and I am glad I bought this phone. Edit: Can't believe I forgot about the speaker. This lone speaker blows the pixel 2 far away in terms of volume when I am listening to music. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Dec 2019 04:54 PM PST Hello everyone! So, after my review about the Redmi Note 8 which you can read here I thought it would be a great idea to upload some photo samples for you guys, since most of the comments were about camera quality and performance. Note that these are nothing spectacular, just pictures of day-to-day scenarios and/or things. I hope you enjoy them and I hope the pictures help you to make your decision whether or not to acquire this phone. Merry Christmas to you all! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:01 AM PST Personally think it looks pretty weird, with the white color being the only nice one - shame it only comes with the 5G model. Probably just gonna skin it tbh [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Dec 2019 05:02 PM PST Hello, Anyone else gets WhatsApp updates daily? Or every two days. I can't find anything about this on Google. Seems odd to have updates this frequently. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Report IMEI for Stolen Xiaomi phone Posted: 11 Dec 2019 03:23 PM PST My dad had his Mi 9 SE stolen. I did not register/activate the phone on Mi Cloud - he was using Google as the primary cloud provider. I have read articles about stolen phones, but all of them indicate to use Mi Cloud functionality. Is there any way to report to Xiaomi of the phone's IMEI ? My goal is that someone trying to activate a Mi Cloud account on that phone later will be locked out of the phone. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Dec 2019 04:48 PM PST I have the power bank pro with the c port I believe it's called, the past few weeks the only device my power bank can charge is my Bose wireless ear buds, it won't power my phone or my PS4 controllers anymore, does anyone know what this could be or if there is a fix? How to get app draw on miui, no 3rd party apps, no root Posted: 11 Dec 2019 12:59 PM PST Firstly, install activity launcher, then search for system launcher. Once on that, click on the "home screen" tab, and it will take you to the setting to add a app draw. I hope this helped. I don't know why xiaomi would hide this. This was tested on xiaomi my 9t on miui 11.0.1 [link] [comments] |

NEW Xiaomi Mijia M365 Scooter doesn't turn ON Posted: 11 Dec 2019 09:44 PM PST I bought M365 from Amazon Dubai and brought to India to gift for my sons birthday, the box was opened only in India and the scooter doesn't turn On or get charged. Xiaomi does not have this product in India and hence no tech support available and I am unable to take back to UAE to get it replaced with Amazon. After checking few Youtube videos, I opened the batt pack and the batt voltage was only abt 22V. I checked each batt and 3 clusters ( 9 batt) were only 1.6v and rest were all 2.8v. I ordered new Batts of same spec and replaced it. now the total voltage is showing 34v on the terminals, but the BMS output shows only 3v. the BMS constantly flashes red light and nothing happens when I press the reset button. I have ordered a new BMS to find out whats faulty. Is there any who can guide me to get this working please ? [link] [comments] |

My Redmi K20 (Mi 9T ) does not have the MIUI launcher Posted: 11 Dec 2019 08:25 PM PST From the box it didn't have Miui launcher . It came with POCO launcher as the default and only launcher. Am I the only one who doesn't have the Miui launcher pre-installed? Right now I'm on MIUI 11.0.3 Global and I bought it in India. And how can I install the official MIUI launcher for this ? 98% Isopropyl Spray + Microfibre Cloth to clean screen Posted: 11 Dec 2019 04:38 PM PST I have a Mi 9t and would like to clean the screen occasionally. Would the Isopropyl Spray and microfibre cloth cause any damage to the screen? [link] [comments] |
Mi 9T Pro vs OnePlus 7T Pro Camera? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 11:39 AM PST Hey guys, I am trying to decide between these two phones. Obviously the OnePlus is more expensive and much better at most aspects. However, the Mi 9T Pro honestly feels good enough to me. But the two things that are most important to me and I don't want to compromise on are battery and camera. I know that the Xiaomi will actually have better battery than the OnePlus. What about the camera? I heard mainly praises towards the Xiaomi and mainly negs towards the OnePlus. Which one is actually better? If OnePlus is even a tiny bit better, I will probably get it, but if the 9T Pro smashes it, then that outweighs the better design, software and screen on the OnePlus. any risks when installing a custom rom Posted: 11 Dec 2019 01:45 PM PST I have a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite and I want to install Lineage OS 16 on it. But I'm really scared because I don't want to brick the phone. I have installed custom roms on samsung devices in the past and failed on huawei, but i could recover the system using the erecovery. I have never had expierience with Xiaomi. Is there anything i have to keep in mind or can I just follow the guide on XDA and it will work? [link] [comments] |

Is there any app to change shape of the "pimple" notch? Posted: 11 Dec 2019 11:57 AM PST So there is this option in mi 9 that lets you change the shape of its notch to make it look more elegant, like redmi note 8. I have this ugly "pimple" notch on my redmi note 7. Since this setting isn't there is there any 3rd party app that can do it? [link] [comments] |
