It being the fastest phone on the market and being sold for 500 usd for the 8gb/128gb model, my mind was pretty clear set on it. It has clean stock like android and other things that sweeten up the deal. Now the fact that the new flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 865 has dropped, i was feeling down about my purchase. | Does Google keyboard have a paste button? Posted: 09 Dec 2019 02:57 PM PST I noticed when I use my work iPhone, I'll copy a portion of something and then hit the little paste icon. When I use my Android phone with Google keyboard, I select a text to copy and then attempt 10 times to put the cursor in-between a few words, which I have to constantly make sure I move the cursor appropriately, and then when I go to paste I usually accidently move the cursor and cut in-between my words unintentionally. Is there a simple paste button? Move the cursor where you want it. Press a key. Boom. I shouldn't have to try to navigate where the cursor is and press the spot while my dumb finger is covering it. | I need help to restore Zip archives Posted: 09 Dec 2019 07:05 AM PST A few weeks ago i had to format my computer, and zipped my photos and moved them to my sd card, my mother who uses my phone regularly to use whatsapp unintentionally made a factory reset with my sd card inside the phone, and I lost my photos saved on the phone, but the zip files were still there on the SD card, but when I went to unzip them, they were corrupted. The SD card has very important and special photos for me, and if possible I would like to know how to recover them, Thank you. The phone is saying that Bluetooth is on, but I am not seeing the Bluetooth icon that normally appears on the top when it is actually on. | Posted: 09 Dec 2019 04:38 PM PST Basically, there seems to be at least 2 different signal sources that my phone has to choose from when I'm at home, one of them is a 1-bar signal which causes constant cutting out when I talk to someone, and the other is 4-5 bars and works fine. Yet, much of the time when I go to make a call, the phone "chooses" the weaker signal automatically for some reason and I have to hang up the call and retry and hope it chooses the stronger one. | Google Messages lagging when sending a message Posted: 09 Dec 2019 04:11 PM PST The past week or so Google Messages has been having some extreme lag when sending messages. It can be anywhere from 1-12 seconds (that I've counted) so far from pressing 'send' to it even showing up in the chat box. After that it seems to take much longer than normal to send the message as well. Interestingly, sending messages through the app from my desktop doesn't show the problem. They appear immediately and send quickly. I've cleared the cache but not the data as I don't want to lose my messages. I'm not really sure what to do, as all other message programs (Samsung, Textra, etc.) work fine still. I'm on a Note10+ running the latest beta build of Messages (though it's persisted through several updates of the beta). [link] [comments]  |

| Note8 stopped displaying notifications for most apps Posted: 09 Dec 2019 03:46 PM PST My Note8 randomly decided to stop notifying me of new Gmail, Reddit push notifications, and other normal notifications including Google assistant reminders. Text message notifications still work normally. I tried the typical reboot, did the recovery menu clear cache partition, and verified notifications were enabled. The clear cache partition seemed to help for a short period of time, then it started doing the same thing. Only other oddball thing was that I started getting "updating mobile presence" notifications from SmartThings Classic that I never received in the past. (Phone is not a "thing", and I can't figure out where I can disable this). This started popping up at the same time as losing the other notifications. [link] [comments]  |

My device's manufacturer will not provide stock recovery images for my device, but Acer provides images for their tablet. Can I recover my device with Acer's ROM? | System automatically delets .nomedia in certain folders Posted: 09 Dec 2019 12:36 PM PST My Mi 9T Pro keeps deleting the .nomedia files I put in Downloads and Screenshots, sometimes even in real time as I create them, but in any case they disappear after rebooting. Any help? P.S. I can't set them read-only as they are not on a SD card but on the internal storage, and apparently you can't change file permissions even with root (which I have).
