How to make my Nexus 7 2012 run decent again Posted: 16 Dec 2019 08:37 PM PST Does anyone still have a Nexus 7 2012 that have running in usable shape? I recently got mine working again but it runs like crap. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate if it's possible. All I'll do with it is probably watch Netflix and YouTube with it. Something about the battery of my Android bugs me Posted: 16 Dec 2019 10:38 AM PST Every time my battery reaches around 50% and I use the camera, it would always "die" within seconds of using the camera. However, when I turn it back on, the battery would return to the former state. For example, the phone is 48%. It dies within two seconds of using the camera. I turn it back on and the battery is on 48%. After that, I can use my phone perfectly fine as long as I don't use the camera. Should I reboot my phone? Get a new battery? What should I do? Thanks for any help! [link] [comments] |
is it possible to prevent Android apps from running unless open onscreen? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 04:26 PM PST I want to prevent most of the apps on my Android phone from running unless they are currently open and being interacted with. Mainly for privacy reasons but also for power consumption reasons. Is there any way to do this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:42 PM PST I'm new to Samsung and SwiftKey. In fact, I've never used a third party keyboard before. But I am finding that SwiftKey is not automatically putting accents into the words when I type in Spanish. Willthe keyboard leen in time or do I need to select various Spanish language options. What is the difference between the Spanish (US), Spanish (Latin America), and Spanish (Mexico). I assume the words used in each location? I know each cou try has their own slang, but does that translate to the keyboard and is it the reason for multiple Spanish language choices? But in any Spanish language I choose, accents are not added. Though I have Latin America activated because that is where I live now. [link] [comments] |

Razer Phone 1 stuck in Download mode Posted: 16 Dec 2019 10:49 AM PST Purchased refurbished off of the official Razer eBay store. On first boot it immediately went into download mode and any time I start it up, even with a hard reset, it immediately goes into it. I've been able to get to just the boot screen without displaying download mode by holding down both volume up and down, and power for about 30 seconds. Both developer mode and USB debugging are not turned on since I couldn't boot into Windows. EDIT: The device is recognized in Windows Device Manager, but it's only showing up in Sound, not in Other Devices. [link] [comments] |
Bluetooth won't connect to usual headphones Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:13 PM PST I need help regarding something that happened yesterday. I own and LG G6 and I was listening to music when suddenly the headphones stopped for a second then returned and did that a couple times before disconnecting completely. As soon as it happened i restarted the phone because I thought it was a bug( there was an update and it has been very buggy after the 1st years not long ago). when on again, all i would get when turning the Bluetooth on was Misc(s) and MAC addresses. Today early i cleaned the sim port with IPA and air compressor which seemed to work since i was able to connect tp every device, but as soon aa i got home and tried to connect to the headphones, it just won't find it for some odd reason. The phone finds other connections as but never the specific headphones I've been using. I know they are good because i connected the heaphones to other devices and it was working perfectly. Any one has an idea what's going on and how can i solve it? Cheers! Sorry for being so long. Not very good at expressing and going to the point in english Ps: and i also tried to reset the network settings [link] [comments] |

Streaming Android TV audio to Android Phone Posted: 16 Dec 2019 01:06 PM PST I usually watch TV at night and I don't want to disturb others in the house. Is there a way by which i can stream my android tv audio directly to my android phone and listen to the audio by connecting my earphones in the phone. I've been searching for a while but couldn't find a solution. It will work similarly like soundwire app, which streams pc audio to android, but i want android tv audio to android. Thanks! Help with ZTE Z981 lockscreen keyboard not appearing. Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:41 PM PST I have a ZTE model Z981 and recently it will not allow me to access my keyboard to type in my password. The screen still works and I can use all the other functions available (like typing in an emergency number), but whenever I hold the lock icon to unlock it, it will bring up the text line for the password and nothing else. There are photos I want to get off of it, and I do not have an SD card in it. Is there anyway to bypass the lock without factory resetting the phone? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:39 PM PST Ever since I reformatted my Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon it's no longer capable of being rooted due to a forced security update. Not only did I lose rooting capabilities due to this security update but the phone itself has become ridiculously slow. It's become so slow that I literally feel like I'll have to buy a new phone. The majority of apps take several seconds or more than a dozen seconds in order to load now instead of being instant. The internal hard drive space has also become smaller I can't even install ¾ of my previous apps without using the SD card. The battery life went from 5 days to 1 and 1/2 days. I've tried multiple ways to downgrade my phone using Odin and re-rooting it but I haven't been able to and people tell me that it's just not possible. Anyways I guess my question is; do Google Pixel and OnePlus phones also turn their android cell phones into shit after a long period of time or is this more of an Apple/Samsung type of thing? I am thinking of buying a new cell phone and rooting it but I don't want it to turn into a pos after a period of time. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any information regarding this matter would greatly be appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments] |
I cannot use my keyboard anymore. Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:30 PM PST So basically, yesterday I was writing a text, and I got a popup that said that my keyboard didn't work anymore, and I pressed the option to close it. Now, I cannot even type anymore, everytime I tap on something to type it will say "Gboard has stopped working"(translated from my language). I am a little stressed about it considering that I use my phone to talk to people who are important, and I really live under a rock when it comes to phones, so I am afraid to lose my apps because I've spent money on some of them! Please help! thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Can i install apps on external sd card? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 11:34 AM PST I have a tablet with android version 4.4.2. The tablet has external sd card with 15 GB size. I partitioned the sd card to two partitions: one partition with 5 GB - vfat files system, and one with 10 GB - ext4 file system. Is there a way to install the applications on the 10 GB partition by default? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Dec 2019 04:25 PM PST I have a Galaxy S6 Edge, carrier is Verizon. When I got home from work this evening my phone was around 50% battery, but seddenly became unresponsive... I was not using it, but when I went to unlock it I just got a black screen, not giving off any heat, no indication that it is working. I have it plugged into my normal charger and it is not giving me a red charging light. Tried holding down the power and volume down buttons, plus every combination of buttons I could come up with, and am getting no response. Any advice? Is my phone totally bricked? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Dec 2019 03:25 PM PST My phone keeps dropping Bluetooth and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. This happens both in my car and on my Bluetooth headphones. I have tried power cycling the phone as well as both turning Bluetooth off and then back on. I've "reset" the connections between my phone and my headphones/car. I'm pretty certain that it's the phone and not the headphones because I tried connecting the headphones to my computer and never lost connection. I've also tried this on different apps and it's not single app-specific problem. I've had this phone maybe a month and it's been going on since day one. Any suggestions? Posted: 16 Dec 2019 03:07 PM PST Hello! I'm trying to install some games and what not on my phone. It has low storage (16gb) but I have an SD card. I formatted it and merged it as internal shared storage. I don't think it's working though. It shows negative storage (-7.16gb) used and it won't let me download things from the Play Store. Any help? It's a ZTE Visible R2. Android 8.1.0 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Dec 2019 03:04 PM PST So only thing i can think of is because I'm currently travelling but doesnt make any sense. Im in the plane and my phone is working fine then after a nap I wake up and phone is asking me to setup new device and needs my google info because there was an unauthorized attempt to reset the phone...wtf. So i put in my credentials and after that still had to complete setup as a new phone. Tried restoring from a backup a couple days ago but only getting half my apps back. also anything internal and not on the sd card is gone so all those pics, etc. Any ideas how this could possibly happen and how to rectify it? I turned on roaming as well as the only other thing I can think of. TIA [link] [comments] |
Removing specific android packages Posted: 16 Dec 2019 12:46 PM PST Hello! I went through some of the developer options on my phone, and found a page called "Package Browser". I found some packages from companies that I don't want anything to do with. Is it possible to remove these packages individually, without breaking the phone? Is it at least possible to see where they came from (a app or file I downloaded for example)? Thanks [link] [comments] |
New Galaxy s10e won't connect to networks. Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:32 AM PST I previously had an S7 and while at work was able to connect to our wifi. My phone was on it's last legs so I upgraded to an S10e. The problem is now I can't connect to my work wifi. Normally, I will need to input a username and password and it connects no problem. Now it won't even ask me for them it just says it's connected but that internet is not available and my wifi symbol has an exclamation point on it. I've tried turning wifi on/off, turning airplane mode on/off, forgetting all networks, and even reset network data [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:17 PM PST First of all, I am not very tech savvy. I updated to the latest Android OS version/oxygenOS 9.0.9. Ever since the update my phone has been absolutely full of bugs. I've lived with them, but the latest is a random beeping sound. And now I'm dropping calls while I'm talking with clients. Just tried to talk with a client and kept dropping the call. Then my mic cut out and I can hear her on the other end. I end the call and can still hear her talking away. As she's talking and asking if I'm there I call her number. My phone is calling her while she's talking to me. Then it glitches and pops up with a message "error message" is literally all it says. Now for the beeping. Immediately after I lock my screen I get the beep beep sound of the low battery warning. But I don't have low battery. I will get the beep randomly as well. It usually happens 4 times in a row and then stops. I cannot play music because every time the beep beep happens, it pauses the music. Then I unlock, start the music, and it happens again. I'm incredibly frustrated with this phone at this point. I bought my OnePlus 5 on day one. 8gb ram 128 gb storage. I have installed very few apps on it. Basically just use it to make calls and take pictures. I've really babied it, been very careful, and have always been cautious of updating the OS because issues always seem to arise from updating. I resisted for a couple iterations of the current OS until my storage was full. I backed up everything and decided it was time to update. I did a factory reset, cleared everything, and updated. Immediately started noticing numerous issues. The screen is very non-responsive, and takes multiple tries to click on things now. The battery life is noticably shorter. And numerous apps flat-out are not even supported (including Netflix). It has been months that I have not been able to even download Netflix onto my phone. I'm on the verge of getting rid of this phone and going back to my old OnePlus one. The one works much better than this OP5 at this point. Really hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. I'd love a super simple operating system and I've heard lineage OS is good, but not even sure if this phone would even allow it or if I'm thinking wrong about all of this. Again, I'm not very tech savvy Too long didn't read: the latest Android updates completely screwed up my OnePlus 5 (I think). I get a low battery beeping all the time and keep dropping important calls. It's basically a useless phone now [link] [comments] |
android 6 lockscreen clock configuration Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:02 PM PST I'm using a PIN lock, and want to change the lock screen clock to show the weekday in addition to time and date. is that possible, and if so how? I've googled and seen lots of suggestions under Settings|Lock Screen, which does not exist, and under Settings|Security|Lock Screen, which also does not exist. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Dec 2019 01:59 PM PST I recently upgraded to a S10 and I keep getting this error message (see image) Trying to figure out why I keep getting this as it only appears for a second at a time and have no way of copying the text and searching it on google. It's a new phone, from a sealed box and have no unknown apps installed. Very confused and the error is now annoying me! Any help appreciated:) [link] [comments] |
