How is this for the price?

    I am in shock - Lenovo Y540 for $1,010.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:17 PM PST

Guys listen. I cannot believe this happened.

So here I am, staring down a Lenovo Y540 17" gaming laptop on Lenovo's website. I've been eyeing it for two months. It was $1243 after taxes, a tad out of my budget. I couldn't pull the trigger (in fact I just posted about this a few hours ago or so). It had a 1660ti, 144hz 300 nits screen, 1TB HDD, 256 SSD, i7-9750 CPU and 8gb RAM. I couldn't do it, even though it wasn't the worst deal ever. In fact, it's pretty good - but I still couldn't do it.

So after a sadness nap, I thought maybe I should call Lenovo and see if there was anything they could do - you miss all the shots you don't take, and I just wanted to try one more thing after tons of coupons failed me.

I ended up speaking to a lovely salesman about my situation and explained how I'm in love but couldn't bite the bullet, and he asked that I stay patient and he'd see what he could do. AND boy, did he do a lot for me.

This great guy brought my price down significantly while matching every single spec I'd wanted. In fact, he upgraded my 1660ti to a RTX 2060 (which isn't much of an upgrade to some, but I'll take it) and gave me 16GB of RAM instead of my existing 8gb. AND, this wonderful man bundled an armored backpack, a headset and a gaming mouse with my purchase. My total went from $1,243 to $1,010 for better specs and some goodies, things I couldn't have before with a $1243 price tag before.

I am still shocked. I am so very happy. I just wanted to share this because I'm a bit of a recluse and had nobody to tell but I am really excited - so guys, I met a really generous salesman and I am the happiest woman in the world right now.

    Thanks for reading!

EDIT - This was for a 17" laptop, not the 15".

    GS65 w/ i7-8750H & 2070MQ or Blade w/ i7-9750H & 2060

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:40 PM PST

    title, basically

there are decent deals on these two where i live atm, but i'm unsure which would be the best (~€1870 for GS65 and ~€2010 for Blade)

the build quality and trackpad should be a lot better on the blade, and mostly everything else too it seems - and since the 2060 is nearly identical to the 2070MQ it seems like the better choice

however, repasting the GS65 should apparently increase performance significantly which makes me unsure which is better, since the GS65 has a slightly better gpu on paper too

i've also read that the blade is much louder on some sites, while other sites claim it's more silent

basically they are both really good, but i don't know which is better - the price difference isn't too important to me

i'll mainly use it for game developing and the occasional gaming, so which one should be better for me? there are probably things i haven't considered which is also why i'm posting here - thanks in advance!

    Not too sure

So this old bloke came up to me the other day and asked me for advice on good a good laptop for him and his wife to buy and I was a bit caught off guard, obviously I wanted to help but I dont know that much about budget laptops and just figured that as he said something around the £300 mark the Acer aspire 5 with the ryzen 5 and 8gb ram was all I could think of, I wondered what you guys think, he said it was just for surfing the web and watching movies and such with a bit of typing but nothing graphics intsive really. It's too late to say anything now if I made a mistake but I'd like to know

What laptop should I get? Help!

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:11 PM PST

I am a beginner in digital art and use this software: -adobe creative (video editing, drawing...) -unity -maya -epic games -processing

1- Should I get Mac or windows? 2-Is a touch screen necessary or should I just get a tablet for it? I want to draw digitally. 3- I also play video games so I want a laptop that won't give me any issues running a few games like Dota and rocket league.

I have seen many laptops online and cannot decide on one. Was thinking of asus zenbook pro duo but I don't know. help!!!

    Lenovo Yoga 730 13.3" vs ACER Spin 5 SP513-53N 13.3"

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 07:28 AM PST

So I've looking into laptops and the Lenovo is the one that fit my requirements the most but I can across the Acer Spin 5 and that's also similar in terms of specs, so I'm a little unsure as to which one to buy, because they're so similar and they still meet my requirements.

Does anyone have any recommendations out of the two or if possible, other recommendations?

    I need help...

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 10:49 AM PST

Hey everyone! I just bought an Asus k542uf and i need some help and info regarding the constant plug-in so if you can help me with that,it'd be greatly appreciated. Firstly,do i have to let my laptop fully charge before starting to use that plugged-in? Secondly, how often should i let it decharge naturally? The last thing i wanna ask is a bit hard to explain so i explain it through an example:i use my laptop at 100% battery(plugged in) and when i'm done using it,should i unplug the AC adapter and plug in the ac next time i wanna use it even if it's at 100%?or should i let it decharge a bit?(90% for example) P.S=if you know anything which is worth mentioning, please feel free to do so even if i have not asked about.
