Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:52 PM PST Ok hombres, I'm a complete computer noob but decided to go ahead and change out my mobo and gpu from an Intel 7700k and appropriate mobo to a AMD 3700x and msi tomahawk max. I simply changed these parts out, plugged hdmi cable into mobo (now relies this is incorrect, though worked on last setup) and tried to turn computer on, was met with a black screen. Then tried hdmi into 1070ti and computer started. I thought happy days, tried a user bench mark test and it got up to point of testing ram and crashed, I think next step was gpu test. As such, I then reinstalled windows from the win10 recovery panel, updated mobo bios, reinstalled cpu drivers etc etc. Computer runs fine until I try user-bench mark test, so tried steam vr test, never even got image on screen before it restarted. Also, I have tried using one ram stick and same thing happens. Heads baked, as I say I'm a total noob, though beginning to think psu is not powerful enough, however have read that 3700x uses less power than overclocked 7700k. Any help is much appreciated, sorry for essay, cheers. From Ireland. [link] [comments] |
