So my OnePlus 7 Pro just started playing audio from what sounded like inside someone's car in China

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 02:53 PM PST

Tried making a phone call to another VZW cell phone and got voicemail so I hung up but immediately after sound started coming through and I thought for a minute the call had somehow gone through but after saying hello a bunch of times without a response I just listened. It was pretty clearly from inside a car as there was occasional car horn and stereo playing and someone speaking occasionally. The language sounded Chinese but honestly I'm not sure. This went on for 15 minutes until I went through and closed all my apps. I think it had been coming through the phone app even though no call was shown as connected.

I'm somewhat disturbed by the fact it seemed I was eaves dropping on someone's phone with them being totally unaware of the fact and that this might be happening to me at any time. Has this happened to anyone? I have a screen recording of part of it but won't post until I can sanitize it of personal information.

I can't take this black bar under the keyboard anymore.

    https://i.imgur.com/HBWpDKg.jpg

I know it's there because of the rounded bottom corners, but I rather have the "?123" and return key partially cut off than typing something out in Chrome or Brave search bar, and then having to type everything out again because I tap slightly below the return key.

Seriously, they should give us an option to choose between having and not having the black bar below.

Edit: I wouldn't mind the black bar as much if it didn't close the keyboard when I tap on it.

Slow Animation on 3rd party launchers

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 06:51 PM PST

Hi, I am using Android 10 and have noticed ever since I started (month and a half agoish) that using a 3rd party launchers and going home leads to a blank screen for maybe a second then takes me home. Sometimes I'll tap on the screen while it's blank and I'll launch my recents somehow or launch a random app. I thought this would get ironed out through bug fixes eventually but it still hasn't happened. The stock launcher seems much quicker. However, I like the pixel launcher much more than OnePlus.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Anyone have a fix for the issue that I'm missing?

For anyone wanting to see if this happens with them, you can simply download any 3rd party launcher and set it to your default launcher. Then go to an app and go home. You should see a decent delay that is annoying after going to your homescreen dozens of times a day.

Need help being convinced to switch to the OnePlus Fam!

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 02:57 PM PST

    Context:
I currently own a Pixel 2 XL that has absolutely terrible ram management. i cant have google maps and another app open without my phone freezing up. Battery life is still fine but i am tired of having a phone where apps dont stay in memory for too long and always lagging. I am looking at the Oneplus 7t because i hate curved screens and dont mind the camera bump.

I have always liked the Oneplus brand for Oxygen OS and for being a great value. I just have a few questions about switching over to the Oneplus 7t.

    1. It seems to get the most up to date updates, i should buy directly from Oneplus instead of Tmobile? Any other motivations for one way or the other?
    2. How would the cameras compare across pixel 2 xl vs oneplus? i dont care too much about cameras but as long as they are close.
    3. How is the battery life? As long as it gets through 1 day of usage i will be happy?
    4. How is the support normally? Google usually provided great support and ive had my device replaced a few times due to memory issues.
    5. I read somewhere that someone got a $20 discount for buying their first oneplus device? is this different than the referral program?
    6. How is the ram management and adaptive brightness? Ive read on various outlets that sometimes apps dont stay in the background but i find that hard to believe on the 8gb of ram and ive read that the adaptive brightness is rough and doesnt utilize the full 1000 nits.

Appreciate any comments to help me push me over the edge!!

    Bluetooth call quality

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 04:18 PM PST

I bought some bluetooth earphones(airpods pro) on the 25th, and they worked absolutely fine with calls and the quality was exactly the same as listening to music. However since the 28th, when i'm on a call, the audio quality suddenly drops to what you'd expect with a really bad signal, muffled unclear sound. If I switch to the phones speaker mode the sound quality is extremely clear as you'd expect.

I've tried wiping bluetooth cache, I've uninstalled all apps and reinstalled, and reset the bluetooth earphones. I've factory reset the phone twice, the second time with a completely fresh install but the issue is still present. I'm calling in whatsapp, discord, google duo etc.

Has anyone had the same issue, and how can I fix this as it's quite frustrating since I bought these earphones for good call quality.

    Question about Android 10 Gestures

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:05 PM PST

For those of you who are on OOS10, what's it like to use Google's navigation gestures and also use a custom launcher? is it even possible to use the gestures with a custom launcher? if so, what are the animations like? (going back home and having the app minimize into its icon, etc)

    thanks!

Oneplus 7 cannot connect to cam using Canon Camera Connect

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 07:12 PM PST

I have a oneplus 3T which has no problem using the canon camera connect app. For some reason, even if the Wifi notif is coming up ("do you want to use this connection even if there is no internet") pops up and I press yes, my OP7 won't connect to the cam to be able to download or use the live view setting.

Camera in question is a Canon G7X but I've used other phones with no trouble at all

OP 7 Pro and Galaxy Buds

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 07:06 PM PST

Anyone rocking Galaxy buds with their OnePlus device? I've heard there are some latency issues with non Samsung devices but wasn't sure if that's been fixed by now.

The buds are $100 until Dec 2 and I was thinking about getting a pair.

    Oneplus3 Nov-2019 update

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:09 AM PST

    Hello,

My phone keeps turning off automatically after the last update for my OP3. I didn't face any issues whatsoever before the last update, and now I don't know what to do. I tried wiping cache through the advance boot menu but with no luck. Fully resetting the phone is no an option for me since it has tons of stuff saved on it.

Any assistance is highly appreciated. Thank you.

    New 7T, need help!

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:28 AM PST

    Hi.

I recently bought the OnePlus 7t 256GB version and I am in love with this phone. However, I can't decide if I have the display tint issue or not. I have taken some pictures at low brightness levels, if anyone can please help me and tell me if my display is defective or its fine and without the tint?

And also, is there a way to get rid of the white bottom bar which comes when using various apps?

Here are the images of the display. I can't seem to figure out if the pictures indicate any tint or is it due to the poor quality of the photo in low light.

    Thank you!

[7pro] How do you get downloaded mp3's into Google music or a music player app?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:54 PM PST

I came from a 3T, I could download mp3's and they'd automatically be added to my Google music app in the library and I could play and shuffle them. I've redownloaded all the songs and pasted them in the Google music data folder and cache, neither changed anything.

Comparison between the curved screen on the OnePlus 7 Pro vs Samsung S7E?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 01:08 PM PST

I currently have a Samsung S7Edge and I have no issue with the curved screen on it. I see a lot of people with issues with the OnePlus 7 Pro's curved screen, so I'm wondering what the differences are, if any.

    Thanks!

Thoughts on the Oneplus bullets wireless 2

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 12:02 PM PST

I'm thinking of purchasing these earphones (currently on sale for 80$ instead of the normal 100$) and was wondering what has everyone's experience been with them. At first I was considering getting true wireless earbuds like the galaxy buds but was a little disappointed by the battery life not just by the galaxy but most TW buds. I know they're still relatively new and will become much better over time but for now I feel like traditional earphones might be better for my needs. My only concern with the bullets is I don't know how portable they are. Portability is a big priority for me so being able to fit them in my pockets instead of just leaving them around my neck is important. Has anyone tried to fit them in their pockets or in their case then in their pockets?

    OP7P Front screen scratches?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:30 AM PST

Just had a look at my screen and noticed my front has a ton of largeish squiggly scratches.. I consider them deep enough that I can feel them when I run my nails over them.

Never dropped my phone.. so I was pretty displeased to see this. Wondering if I should buy a glass screen protector / if anybody else has had this happen to them.

Figured it might've happened playing sports with my phone in my pocket..
