Posted: 03 Oct 2019 11:16 AM PDT Most screen recorders will just record until you run out of memory. I want to constantly be recording only the last 3 minutes, for example. Bonus points if it has some features, like trim editing and upload to YouTube. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:41 AM PDT I'm looking for an app to use as my SMS client that respects privacy and doesn't have IAP or subscription basically free. I currently use signal or default messages but they aren't very feature rich. Are there any apps like this or is it a fantasy? Thanks Edit: what's the difference between signal and silence? Is one better than the other? [link] [comments] |
Audio converter with batch functionality Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:41 AM PDT I want to find an app that can take a folder and convert every audio file inside that folder. Also, ability to output them to the same folder and replacing the original files would be useful. was browsing through the play store without any luck. [link] [comments] |
Security cam app with sound/noise alerts Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:27 AM PDT I'm trying to find an app like Albert, but with a notification or alert when the app picks up a loud noise. Or ability to see if there has been loud noises during the day. Albert would otherwise be perfect but knowing/being alerted if there are loud noises during the day is one of the features I really need. My dog is spending her first evenings alone at home and I just want to know if she barks or whines during the dark. [link] [comments] |
Anyone remember the Swipe quick launcher? Where is it now? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 09:28 AM PDT Ages ago, I had a great little pop-up launcher where I could swipe in from the top-right corner and it would instantly pop up a small grid of my most frequently accessed apps. I'm pretty sure it was called "Swipe", but I can't find it on the Play Store, and my cursory searches only turn up Swipe for Facebook, swipe keyboards, or actual full-screen launchers, etc. It was free and didn't have ads, but you could pay for extra features like more app slots (I never needed more than the 12 it came with) and extended functionality like adding direct dial contacts or OS settings as shortcuts. I've looked at a few alternatives over the years, but Swipe was the most convenient and reliable: one single motion to launch an app. No need to even tap, or swipe then tap, or whatever. I could customize where the hotspot was located, so as phones got larger and my thumb stayed the same size, I could move it further down the edge of the screen so it remained reachable without changing my phone grip. Anyone know what happened to it, or if they can recommend another similar app with this basic feature set? EDIT: Damnit, just found this thread. Looks like SwipePad is abandonware. :( [link] [comments] |
Is there a better App for FB MEssenger than FB Messenger? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:30 AM PDT I've tried quite a few of the "wrapper" apps that cover FB and Messenger, but I haven't found one that will do everything that the original Messenger app can do. (Such as render automatic replies from businesses as they should be seen) Just seeing if any of you have a replacement that you are happy with. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 12:22 PM PDT I am looking for an app that has customizable bands (so you can choose exact frequencies to modify). [link] [comments] |
[DEV] Would love to get some feedback on a game we've been working on for a bit now. Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:29 AM PDT We're a small game studio of 5. and we've been working on our first android game for about 5 weeks now. We feel like we improved our game a lot since our first release, but we would like to get some more feedback going into our next release. Our game is called NonoStack and is focused on Nono. a small robot who needs to get to the flag. To help him, the player will be building blocks and controlling Nono to reach the flag. Right now we have about 16 levels, with more levels and blocks to come. Our game is available for Android in the google play store here [link] We would really love to get you feedback on the game, so we can keep making improvements. [link] [comments] |
Can apps receive auto-updates when they're in "Force Stop"? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 12:01 PM PDT When apps are Force Stopped, can they still receive auto-updates? I downloaded Hibernator (similar to Greenify), and while it's definitely improved performance, I don't want to keep it if it will prevent apps from being updated. [link] [comments] |
Exercise apps with virtual trainers to make working out fun and motivating Posted: 03 Oct 2019 11:42 AM PDT I'm looking around for some apps with a virtual trainer type thing. Basically avatar or recording to make exercising fun. I want ones to help do sit-ups (to help get my belly and back strong) and ones that include low impact exercises (because I'm really overweight) Asking because my google fu skills haven't come up with much if anything. Hopefully some others can help with that! thanks! [link] [comments] |
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP "WoodBox" Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:45 AM PDT So, I've seen many people download it here "including me" and then I saw a review. I got concerned since this app was installed on my phone, so I scanned it on Virustotal and sure enough, 4 virus detections. I would advice to remove the app. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Oct 2019 03:58 PM PDT Hi everyone, I had ringtones and notification sounds until I had to delete Zedge because of the message from the Play store. Are there any alternatives to Zedge in order for me to get those ringtones? Thank you, Whiteice. [link] [comments] |
[Question] Do disabled/frozen apps consume battery or run in background in any way? Posted: 02 Oct 2019 10:40 PM PDT I have Facebook disabled and I only occasionally need to check it a couple of times a week and was wondering if it's better for me to keep apps which I barely use disabled/frozen. How does a disabled app work is it virtually similar to a non existent app on your phone or does its services/wakelocks still run in the background? An in-depth answer would be highly appreciated ty [link] [comments] |
App for measuring cycle times in production Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:23 AM PDT Hello guys, I have a question. Don't you know about any application on Android devices, which help me with a measuring of cycle times in lean manufactoring? I have something on my mind.. You have a empty filed, where you can write a operation.. For example 4 fields, where are cutting, another one is primering, another washing and so on.. And you gonna push these fields every time, when the operator doing these works. As a result are colored line with operations, or some graphs, or graphics with every operation.. Thanks for any advice [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:21 AM PDT Hi guys, I don't like ads generally speaking but I've found an app supported with a small banner from AdMob, mostly there are ads for play store apps, and the app has no weird permissions... May I safely use it, or there may be privacy issues related? Honestly I think that AdMob is from Google and they already know everything, so I should be fine... I thought about blocking ads, but I'd like to support this developer and the small banner is not intrusive, what do you think? There are no option to remove ads, BTW [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:30 AM PDT Hey fellas. So Reddit is blocked on my schools wifi but I can't bear recess without memes. I found TrustDNS and it seems like it might do the trick, but before I try it out I wanted to ask - could I get in trouble for using it? And would it be good enough to get around blocks? I don't really understand this whole dns stuff. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Oct 2019 06:41 PM PDT Hey guys, so after buying a used android phone (s7 edge), I discovered in messages settings drop menu, there's something called configuration messages?
