Posted: 02 Oct 2019 02:17 PM PDT 720p Youtube Video VS 720p DVD I had a really low-end DVD player and decided to upgrade recently. This broken outline problem was also on my last DVD player so I'm starting to think it's a TV setting but then I feel like it should also be causing the same problem with YouTube. I thought it might be a Progressive Scan issue but that doesn't seem to be it either because the new DVD player has an option for Progressive and Interlaced but both look kind of shit Watching live-action movies/TV doesn't seem to be a problem, or at least not noticeably so but this issue is one in every couple of frames (especially during lots of action) of a traditionally animated film/TV show Has anyone any idea how to fix this? Plz help me enjoy my animated DVD's again <3 [link] [comments] |
Long a** ethernet cable or better router Posted: 02 Oct 2019 10:46 PM PDT So, our wifi is intermittent at best and my partner and I both agree it has to be the router, since that's all we changed before the wifi went to crumbs... long story short, should we buy an expensive, long range router, or should we just buy a long ethernet cable and run it through the attic to the other end of the house and keep using the crummy router but close enough for it to actually work. Edit: thank you all for your help and suggestions! [link] [comments] |

Upgraded to RTX 2060, way worse performance than previous 1060 Posted: 02 Oct 2019 03:31 PM PDT Ryzen 5 1600X @ 3.9ghz I upgraded my GPU to an RTX 2060 today and, for example, in Destiny 2 I've gone from ~90fps at 1080p/high to 40fps at the same settings My userbenchmark score is very poor, especially for a brand new card I've done a clean install of drivers using DDU [link] [comments] |
Workflow Struggle With Citrix and a locked down IT Environment [Windows 10] Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:54 AM PDT [BACKGROUND] Hi all, My company is virtualized in Citrix. It does the job, but I am somewhat of a power user that runs several macros to automate my day to day. Our machines given to us are pretty outdated with about 4gb of ram, so I opted to BYOD and bring my laptop as my machine kept crashing. The 4gb setup works great for most, so I'd assume I'm the 1 person out of a thousand whining. I use all of my local applications to get things done as it's on an SSD and not loading from our VDI environment. It's just quicker, and selfishly, less annoying. The only annoying thing in my workflow that I need help with is an internal application that is stored locally on the provided machines, but requires our VPN access to work. I am NOT allowed to plug directly into our Network, so the wifi I use is a guest account. The regular machines are allowed to be directly plugged in, thus the application is able to run on the 4gb machines. So, I have to load up a full virtual desktop to use one application and end up switching back and fourth between my local machine and the virtual instance. [THINGS I'VE TRIED]
[THINGS I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT/QUESTIONS]
[ASSISTANCE REQUEST] I'm really just spit balling and looking for any backdoor that wouldn't be completely immoral and a large security concern. I just want to run this damn app. I'm pretty close with the IT guys there as an ex programmer, and even they said it's seldom they'll grant access to somebody in my department to Ethernet in. I don't mind bending the rules a little bit in terms of a work around, but any suggestions would be very much appreciated. ** If my formatting is terrible, I apologize. I'm writing this on the commute to work now. Thanks, Lee [link] [comments] |
Trying to connect internet cafe computers to internet came up against problem. Need help! Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:46 AM PDT I am in a quite rural area with no tech support and trying to connect computers to internet. Brought internet cable into the establishment. Because of infrastructure, ISP offers triple service that is IPTV, Internet and Phone. Internet cable goes in to Huawei DG845V router. I wasn't able to access to router from web browser. Huawei default router ip said 192.168.1.1 but it didn't work. So i connected lan cable from that router to Cisco CVR 100W router and from that router to a hub that connects to other computers. Ethernet switch i am using is TP-Link TL-SF1016. The problem is that lets say out of 10 computers connected to internet few are able to have internet connection and others don't have internet. Since they are all connected to switch. The computers without internet still have LAN. Sometimes they connect to internet after restart. And some computers that have internet, no longer have internet connection after reboot. The reason i have to use 2 router is that this ISP doesn't provide login name, password and we have to use the router it comes with that is also IPTV and phone router. We can use that router and directly connect it to switch but i am unable to access router and i would like that access. So i am using another router as a passthrough. What went wrong here? I meed help. Also can i keep 10 computer connected to internet while other 10 don't have internet but lan? I can currently assign manual ip4 address so that do have no internet but LAN. But the problem is then IP manually assigned computers can only have lan between themselves but not with the computers with internet while the computers with internet will only join other computers with internet. Minecraft runs smooth on integrated CPU graphics, but not on GPU GTX 1050 Posted: 03 Oct 2019 12:17 AM PDT I get around 120 FPS if not more with my intel 630, but when I try to use my GTX 1050 instead for shaders, even without I lag enormously. Help?!? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:52 AM PDT Hello, my computer will randomly freeze at times , for around 30 seconds to a minute. It's happened when gaming, and when just casually going through the computer. Sometimes I can hear my friends on discord, other times I can't. And while gaming, they'll tell me I was just standing still or walking while shooting, so the computer is still registering my last key presses. I am running on: MOBO: ASRock X470 Master RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core/16-Thread GPU: GTX 1080 PSU: GIGABYTE GP-G750H 750W 80 PLUS Gold I just built this a few days ago, upgrading from a i7 4770. Everything is brand new other than GPU and hard drives, which I wiped. Factory reset [link] [comments] |

Pairing wireless xb1 controller causes bsod Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:47 AM PDT To give a bit of background. I'm using a Xbox one controller connected via a USB Bluetooth adapter from Asus. Everything worked fine before. However, I plugged the adapter into my friends pc to use my controller there. After that I the controller wouldn't instantly connect to my PC anymore. It happened before when I did it, so I just removed it and re-paired it. But now whenever I try to pair my controller, my PC freezes after I click allow and I'm met with a bsod. Help would be appreciated :) [link] [comments] |

Why is my phone refusing to charge at all essentially anymore? Posted: 02 Oct 2019 11:53 PM PDT I have an LGG7. Worked great, some problems. whatever. Around this week, it fuuuckin refuses to charge. 2 nights ago, I fell asleep with it plugged in around midnight. It charged til 8 am, and it was only at about 55%. Now it's estimated time to full charge is five hours. I used to be able to get. from dead to around 90% in 20 minutes. Even when it's plugged in, unless I don't use it at all and shut it off, it still dies. Just slightly slower. I've tried different charger heads, cables, clearing the port, clearing the cables port. I've rebooted. I've turned on and off battery saver. I've dug through the settings. Please help me. lgg7, android 8.0 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:35 AM PDT (reposted from r/Amd) Hey r/techsupport i need your help. Made my first build with the r7 3700x an x570 aorus elite and an rtx 2070s. Worked fine but the cabeling was pretty bad. So today i tried to redo it. When i was testing the pc while cleaning up the pc wouldn't boot anymore. I checked all the cables and everything was firmly put in. Still no boot. I don't know if the aorus elite has debug leds. I see no search results for that at the moment. Little weird thing is. When i plug in the power cable into my psu the ram leds turn on. nothing else. When i press the power button all the fans/rgb light up so i think its not an front panel problem. Does this mean I broke my mobo? Anyway i would love to hear back from you guys! [link] [comments] |

How to privately sell domain name? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:25 AM PDT I'm new to buying and selling domain names, so I'm learning from scratch. I actually want to buy a particular domain that is already registered. Figured I would email the individual listed on the whois index and ask if they'd be willing to sell, rather than paying GoDaddy or a company like them $100 to do the same. What I'm trying to figure out is (a) how to transfer ownership of a domain from the seller to the buyer, when both are using different domain registration companies. (b) what simple, online escrow service would suit this transaction, considering that both me and (presumably) the seller are new to this. Links to any handy guides would be appreciated. Unfortunately, every result I've found so far only covers transferring domain, but not owner, or refers me to an expensive domain name brokerage service. Thanks in advance for any advice! Need some advice on building a platform that requires Facebook app Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:16 AM PDT I have just recently begun working on my idea of a SAAS platform for helping online retailers get more out of their customers . This service is primarily going to be dependent on a Facebook app. I have always known Facebook's strict policies regarding app approvals. With no registered company in place, should i focus on building the platform first or should i first gather everything that is necessary for getting the app approved ? If yes, for a solo developer what is it going to take to get an approval from Facebook for the app? [link] [comments] |
Changing primary monitor on Windows 10 to replace laptop screen Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:07 AM PDT Hi all. I've just bought a new monitor to replace the almost-dead screen on my laptop. I want to fully remove the screen from the rest of the laptop as it's literally dangling by the connecting cords, but before I do I want to make sure that my laptop defaults to using the other monitor. I don't want to restart my screenless laptop and have it not connect, for example. Any advice? Is it possible? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Clearing a SSD that prevents windows from booting Posted: 03 Oct 2019 02:53 AM PDT I just installed windows on a new nvme ssd and kept some files i needed on an old ssd( didnt have windows installed on the old one). When I connect the old SSD I cant boot into windows because of some error code. How do I clear the old drive so that I can use it without any problems? Id rather have a working drive than the files, they arent that important. [link] [comments] |

No boot option on new Windows 10 Install Posted: 03 Oct 2019 02:49 AM PDT Hi All, So today I got a new motherboard and CPU. I installed a fresh instance of Windows 10 onto a new 1TB SSD I got using the media creation tool and a USB drive. The installation seemed to run flawless but I cannot set that 1TB SSD as the primary boot drive in the bios. I did this as I wanted a completely fresh start, especially with removing all the old drivers, reg files etc from my old hardware. The current situation is that I have two Windows 10 Instances, the old one on a 256gb SSD and the new one on the 1tb SSD. When I set the old 256gb SSD to the primary boot drive I experience nil issues. I get the option to select either the old Windows 10 instance or the new one. The issue I'm having is that I cannot find the 1tb SSD in my UEFI boot preference settings on my bios. I want to set this as the primary boot drive so I can delete the old windows 10 instance from the old 256gb ssd. I hope that makes sense. Did something go wrong with the new installation on the 1tb ssd? How can I make it bootable so I can remove the 256gb ssd? Here are some photos (apologies they're REALLY bad. Was in a rush before work and didn't know how to screenshot from within bios). As you can see the drive only appears in "HDD BBS Priorities" not but the UEFI menus. Thanks! Motherboard: B450 MSI Gaming Carbon Pro CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x Samsung 256GB 850 PRO Samsung 1TB 860 EVO (M.2 SATA). [link] [comments] |
