I couldn't wait for the pixel 4 to drop because of course it will be amazing. I think they really dropped the ball though by not adding a wide angle lens. It might be a deal breaker for me. Samsung phone cameras are amazing as well. But I hateeee their software. I don't know what phone I'd upgrade to in order to get a wide angle lens in the next year. So I wonder if there is any way to put stock Android on a Samsung. [link] [comments]  |
| Moto E5 Cruise (Play) intermittent sim card issue Posted: 27 Sep 2019 08:15 PM PDT I've got a Moto E5 Cruise (Play) on Cricket running Android 8.0 that wont detect the sim card intermittently. I've tried replacing the sim card and factory reset twice, but still have the same issue. After factory reset it will work for a short time, but disappears after a couple of hours. Reboots will get it working again a few times, but eventually it'll just give out. Last reset I delayed letting it update for a few hours and it had no problems. Updated and it was out in less than an hour. Anyone had something similar happen or have any ideas? Thanks [link] [comments]  |

After updating to Android 10 though it's so bad I can't go anywhere without a charger. Here's the stats from today It seems to stay on the same percentage for a little while and then start falling rapidly. Any ideas what to do? | New user from iOS to Android: App and Data Transfer Posted: 27 Sep 2019 03:07 PM PDT A few days ago, I made the choice of making the move from iPhone to a Samsung S10 5G, and so far, it's been a smart decision and the software that transferred the data was sorta helpful. However, I've come in the next obstacle which is my Application data and retrieving it all, some of it which is Account or Code transferred, but others that I'd like to get back which I've sunk good kill time into. I had a Galaxy Note 8 but the screen has completely died on it now and it does not light up but still seems to function and I'm not sure if repairing it is a good option as I've been told the screens are expensive. I honestly don't really care for latests specs or anything I just want something that run my games well and do normal phone things. So please any cost effective choices on a good android phone would very appreciated. | Posted: 27 Sep 2019 10:25 PM PDT I have an old android Samsung phone. The screen is completely dead but the phone powers up and works (notifications come through when it's turned on). I need to recover data from this phone but when I plug it into the pc it won't let me access the photo and video library without unlocking the phone. I can't unlock the phone as the screen is dead. I've seen online a certain type of cable, plugs into the phone, has a usb to plug in a mouse and another usb to go straight into the pc, so once it's all connected up you can use a software to open up the phones display on a pc and use the mouse connected to type the password. This would fix my problem. However, this solution I saw years ago, I don't actually know if it would fix things and I have no clue what wire to buy or software to download?? Please help me! I dont know what they are, or where they come from, if I click them google doesn't find anything " your search did not match any documents", or it shows me a thumbnail of a youtube video I think i watched and another thumbnails with no correlation. | Posted: 27 Sep 2019 09:42 PM PDT My home wifi has worked fine for awhile, used to be window devices that had this issue, then one day windows started working fine, but ever since upgrading to gigablast (and replacing my modem) android devices and only android devices have wifi issues. Computers work perfectly, my sister's non-android tablet works fine (if it didn't she'd probably complain about it), my mom, stepdad, and my own android phones constantly lose connection and the message it gives differs between either "waiting for signal quality to improve" or "may not have internet access". I've restarted everything, factory reset things, cleared Android cache, checked router settings, and I've Googled the hell out of it but literally only found a thousand people saying to restart the router and my phone, I've read so much useless advice. The only thing that has changed between "wifi working good enough with every device" to "now the internet is faster but android devices won't stay connected" is the new modem and the upgraded internet service from cox, but I don't know how a modem could possibly be the cause of this since the router is the one handling the devices and having faster internet doesn't seem like it would be a bad thing. Logically it should some kind of issue between the router and android devices. As for my modem, router, and provider they are a CM1200, r6700v3, and cox(mobile is Cricket) respectively. Other things I've tried include, changing DNS, static IPs, and extensive reading into what router settings could be causing this, but to no avail nothing works and I don't feel like contacting netgear or cox yet if there's a chance I'm missing something else. Any legit advice other than "restart your devices" would be appreciated. Edit: making my phone's ip static seems to decrease the frequency that the internet drops, but it still stops working often. I used developer mode to enable the option to force app into external storage however, whenever I download anything from the app, it downloads it to internal storage. | Android 9 GPS signal lost every time screen turns off. Where is Optimize battery usage? Posted: 27 Sep 2019 03:58 PM PDT This is annoying. I'm not running in battery saver mode. While using Google Maps, if the screen turns off/locked, shortly after, google maps announced that gps signal is lost. I have to keep the screen on in order for gmaps navigation to keep working. which eats battery faster. Where is the setting in Pie that keeps the gps running even when the screen is off? Google maps app is already set to use battery in background, so there must be something else that kills the gps during screen lock. Any ideas? edit: looks like many people have this issue across many devices. But there's an app called GPS Keeper that keeps the gps alive while screen is off. I wonder why Google's own Android kills its own Maps app. Didn't they test this shit? [link] [comments]  |

| NFC tags won't display when scanned. Posted: 27 Sep 2019 07:42 PM PDT So I recently got into NFC tags and everything was working fine. But now when I scan my tags they don't pop up on my phone screen anymore! For example, if I program it to say "Hello" when I touch it, it won't. But when I scan it in my NFC app it shows what is written on it and I can erase/write it. I'm using NFC Tools PRO. Please save my NFC! I tried tons of permissions settings, display settings, safe mode, restarting, uninstalling Tasker etc. Next is trying to format the whole phone but some forum posts say that doesn't even help! Posted: 27 Sep 2019 03:13 PM PDT Basically I have an SD card in my phone and I'm transferring/deleting files (on my laptop) to free up space on it. On my phone I have transferred numerous apps to said SD card. On the file explorer, which files within the SD card should I not delete (in order for my apps to work as normal)- if any? | Very strange issues with my phone Posted: 27 Sep 2019 03:07 PM PDT I have a Moto G5 and it was getting a bit slow on me, so I rebooted it, I set a pin on startup and it didn't ask me "to start android, enter your PIN" so I thought that was strange, so I tried to unlock my phone, it froze without no real reason for 5 minutes, that was a bit irrirating, so when I was able to get in my phone, I tried to download a file and it said waiting for network and then "missing SD card" but what's strange is my SD card was perfectly readable before the reboot and then my camera said "please restart camera" and when I tried to change my location to save my photos, it was greyed out and wouldn't let me save anywhere or let me take a photo, it won't even let me take a screenshot, I must've fried or changed something in settings for all this to happen, all I did was reboot my phone Not sure if this helps but I have my SD card formatted as internal storage, because 16GB was filling up to fast so I upgraded it to 32GB but I could still use the SD card and save pics and files on it but after that reboot my phone had a brain fuck and decided to not work correctly [link] [comments]  |

I live in Malaysia, but it seems the retailers here aren't planning to sell that model.
