Mi 9T (Pro) / K20 (Pro) - List of model differences Posted: 25 Aug 2019 10:07 PM PDT Been lurking on this subreddit for a while as it has provided some clarifications to a list of differences that I have compiled since a week ago. I've seen many threads here and in other forums/communities requesting information on differences between all the Mi 9T/K20 models so I hope that this info I've gathered helps those who are interested in making an informed decision before shelling out 50~200 extra dollars on the Pro model with features that may not need or don't find worth getting. Mi 9T (Global) / K20 (Chinese) - Codename: Davinci• Chipset - Snapdragon 730 + Adreno 618 • Display - PWM dimming in the global Mi 9T (DC dimming will be implemented via software in a future MIUI update and it's already available in the chinese K20s) • Audio - Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9375 Hi-Fi codec + DAC • Camera - Sony IMX582 sensor - 2160p (4K) @ 30fps video recording - 1080p @ 120fps slow motion video recording - Phase-detect auto focus (PDAF) • Memory/Storage - UFS 2.1 single lane (nearly the same speeds as UFS 2.0) • Battery - 18W fast charging (Quick Charge 4+) - Up to 30 minutes to 1 hour of extra SoT Mi 9T Pro (Global) / K20 Pro (Chinese) - Codename: Raphael• Chipset - Snapdragon 855 + Adreno 640 • Display - DC dimming • Audio - Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9340 Hi-Fi codec + DAC • Camera - Sony IMX586 sensor - 2160p (4K) @ 60fps video recording - 1080p @ 120-960fps slow motion video recording - Phase-detect auto focus (PDAF) + laser auto focus • Memory/Storage - UFS 2.1 dual lane • Battery - 27W fast charging (Quick Charge 4+) • Other - 2-Band GPS - Has an exclusive "Summer Honey White" color Debunked Differences• Mi 9T / K20 has a normal AMOLED and the Mi 9T Pro / K20 Pro has a Super AMOLED screen. All the Mi 9T / K20 models use the same display that was used in the Mi Mix 3. The display is a Super AMOLED panel manufactured by Samsung (VDE ID.40049450). There's some information that another AMOLED panel by a different manufacturer called Visionox might be used on the non-pro models but as of now (August 25, 2019), most of the Mi 9T / K20 phones have been confirmed to use Samsung panels. That's all the differences that I have found for now. I always spend days (sometimes weeks) trying to research and find the minute differences that most reviewers and/or spec lists tend to ignore on most of the phones and computers that I want to buy if that have model variations. Right now I have a Mi 9T (Glaciar Blue, 6GB+128GB) still sealed in box that I got as a gift so I have been contemplating on selling it and buying the 9T Pro at around november or december when prices come down. It all will depend on wherever I find more differences and if those are substantial enough to go with the Pro model. Anyone knows of other differences that I failed to gather and that could be added to this list? Also, I've been thinking on adding this info to the subreddit's wiki but I'm still pretty new to having an account on reddit so I'm not sure how to do it correctly or if it's only something a moderator can edit. Posted: 26 Aug 2019 03:08 PM PDT Hey everyone, i'm currently using a Mi 9 SE and i'm actually very happy with it. Nonetheless I'm thinking about switching to a Mi 9T and giving my SE to a family member lol. One reason (among others) is the 9T's headphone jack. At home, i'm using Sennheiser HD 650 Hi-Fi headphones that can be „hard to drive" because of their 300 Ohm impedance. On my ancient spare iPhone 4 and my iPod Shuffle the output is fortunately loud enough, although the Shuffle gets even louder than the iPhone. With the Mi 9T i'm not so much worried about the audio quality per se but the volume that can be achieved with it, and furthermore about what the incremental volume steps do or well – sound like. Using the USB-C dongle in combination with my Mi 9 SE gives me kinda mixed results. For usual normalized audio like music, using the full volume is slightly louder than i am comfortable with listening to, but if i lower the volume just one step, it doesn't get like 2 % lower incrementally, but it becomes quite the amount more quiet. So the output can be either too loud (for longer sessions) or slightly too low lol. I don't know how much of this behavior is caused by the actual dongle or by the software though. And other content like videos on YT that are not dynamically compressed and normalized like crazy can be too low in volume in general. Maybe some of you use higher-impedance (like 150 or 300 omhs) hifi headphones with the Mi 9T or the K20 and you could give me a general idea about the volume output of the headphone jack and what changing the incremental steps in audio level does as well. And oh btw, i'm in the EU and changing to another region won't give you more audio volume in the settings but only changes whether you get a warning when raising the volume above a certain level or not. I checked ;) Many thanks in advance :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Aug 2019 01:27 PM PDT Hey! I've read that screen protectors are hard to use with the Mi 9 SE due to the in-screen fingerprint reader. Is there any screen protector that actually protects without interfering with the fingerprint reader? [link] [comments]
Just got a Redmi K20 Pro with a Global ROM, do I need to do anything? Posted: 26 Aug 2019 02:43 PM PDT Hey. I got a k20 pro (yet to come) with Global ROM installed. I read somewhere that its better to change the rom to global one by myself. The question is, how to do that and will it get OTA updates? There is anything else I need to know? Thanks. Posted: 26 Aug 2019 08:19 PM PDT Hi, my company has a redmi note 7 (chinese rom) and it is set up for auto call recording. But the calls from one of the callers are never recorded. We can see their call record in the call log. But there is no recording of it both in the recording app and file manager. So what kind of app are they using so that we cant record the call. Is there a way to override that? [link] [comments]

Redmi note 7 46 degrees battery Posted: 26 Aug 2019 07:05 PM PDT my redmi note 7, which I bought 2 days ago, heats up to 40-43 degrees on average, or rather its battery, the processor itself as I looked at Aida64 is kept at 38 degrees, once during a long game in clash royale the battery temperature reached 46 degrees. this is normal? MI 9T Power saver Crash (freeze) Posted: 26 Aug 2019 11:41 AM PDT First, the phone woke up after about 3 hours of being asleep and kept on staying woken up for about 3 hours more while i slept. It was really hot. The AOD was not appearing so i decided to turn the Power Saver on and off and maybe trigger it, but the second i clicked on Power Saver, the phone screen went black. The power button turned on/off the screen, with a delay of about 10 seconds. I had to hold the power button for about 7 seconds to restart the phone and everything came back to normal after that. Any ideas or similar situations? [link] [comments]
Having issues with screen protector on my mi 9 Posted: 26 Aug 2019 05:20 PM PDT I've tried twice now with two different companies tempered glass screen protectors but both of them seem to leave this greasy looking fuzzy effect on the screen. It's very noticeable on a white background, not so much darker colors. I've cleaned the screen beforehand both times really well and they still show the fuzzy effect. Anyone else dealt with this and solved it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Aug 2019 01:18 PM PDT Redmi Note 7 here with Global MIUI 10.3.6.0, bootloader still locked. There is a new update out but MIUI keeps saying nothing new is available. I remember always having issues with updates even on older android phones, arriving very late (half a year) or not at all. Is this gonna be another of those or am I missing something? I want to update to the new August security patch. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix or should I just keep waiting? (I know I can manually download the update and install the package but I really would like if the updater would figure it on its own) Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

Note 5 Pro [whyred] vs. 9T vs. mi 9 vs. Pixel 3a? Posted: 26 Aug 2019 01:04 PM PDT Hello All! I am currently rocking Global Whyred with installed Pixel Experience and the latest GCam mod by Parrot. I was thinking of upgrading the phone to Note 7, 9T, 9T Pro, Mi 9 or... Pixel 3a. Camera quality would be a top priority (together with battery life). Does anyone have comparisons of Google's phone to Xiaomi alternatives with GCam installed? Thanks for the input! [link] [comments]
Mi Mix 1 (Lithium) Pixel Experience...any experiences? Posted: 26 Aug 2019 11:39 AM PDT Hi folks, I hesitated to ask because there are a large amount of tutorials about this online but I just want to make sure I'm going to do something others have had success with - has anyone installed Pixel Experience on the Mi Mix 1? Is it a good idea? Is a stable daily driver? I've never done this before and want to do it right. [link] [comments]
