| HTC U11+ Andriod Pie Charging issues and overheating error. Posted: 26 Aug 2019 11:30 AM PDT Ok so I updated my HTC u11+ 2-3 days ago ever since then I have been having trouble charging my phone while using it. When ever the phone is in use while charging I will get an error randomly after couple of minutes saying: "Not Charging" "Unable to charge device because the USB connector is overheated." While I get this message the phone start going off like an alarm so you have to unplug the cable. Sometimes even after unplugging the cable the alarm keeps going since it thinks i'm still charging the phone for some reason. Small and maybe related charging issue I have noticed is while just connecting a charging cable without it being connected too an outlet the phone might think its charging while there is no power. The first time I noticed this error was while using my phone right after updating my phone in the same charging cycle as before the update, as I charged while updating my phone. So there is noway there was any damage right before or right after the update on my USB connector. I have never had any charging issues before updating my phone. Trouble shooting I have done: Tried 3 different USB C cables and 3 different adapters, quick charging and not quick charging and I get the same result every time. Factory reset Blowing the charging port clean with compressed air. I have to say from the lack off updates to getting a update where my phone is not usable while charging HTC u11+ was my first HTC phone and sadly my last. Quick edit: The error has now started happening even while phone is not in use while charging, it just happened 2 seconds after i plugged in the charging cable just now. [link] [comments]  |
