Very slow performance after Pie update on Xiaomi A1

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 07:05 PM PDT

So my dad bought a Xiaomi A1, and according to what he remember, right after first setup he updated it to android pie (9). When the update completed, and the phone starts to boot, things starts to get problematic.

    1. Unlocking the phone is very slow. It is often that after unlock, the phone hangs and locks again.
    2. Frequent and random freeze, hangs and slow-downs.
    3. Some system apps (like system ui) stopped responding sometimes.

    What I have tried:

    1. Factory reset
    2. Update all apps, including the factory ones
    3. Disabling background backups
    4. Disable unused factory apps (like google music, etc)
    5. Use greenify

We have considered to root the phone, but from what I read on xda there is a step that will wipe all data. And it takes quite some time.

So my question is, is there any other way to troubleshoot the problems this phone had before we have to root the phone?

I hope this is the right place to discuss this issue.

    Thank you.

People that use Xiaomi with an iPad, how is your experience?

    Lower battery performance on k20.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 09:30 PM PDT

So it has been a month since i have had my k20 and i have noticed a drop in the battery quality of the k20. Earlier I used to get a screen on time of around 7 + hours and now I'm barely getting around 5 hours of sot. Anybody facing the same situation? Or got any solutions? Or tell me how many hours of screen on time are you getting? I have my ambient display on btw.

    Automating the Camera Sleep mode

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 08:59 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

I got the Mi 1080p Camera and it's quite cool, but of course I don't want to have notifications on my phone every several minutes because of detection motion when I'm home. I'm already using the timed sleep, so for weekdays that's fine as I leave the house every day at the same time. But for weekends it's a bit more complicated and if I forget to turn off sleep-mode there's no camera running when I'm away...

So my idea what to automate it something like "If mobile phone connected to Home-Wifi put Camera in Sleep".
I tried IFTTT but didn't find Mi-Integration. Also Mi Home App doesn't allow for such automation.

    Anyone has some idea?

    Thx

    Pax

    Picking xiaomi phones

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 08:44 PM PDT

Hello! I currently own a pocophone f1 right now, and I would like to ask if I should change into a redmi note 7 pro, a mi a3, a mi cc9, or a mi 9t. I am mostly concerned about battery life, camera, as well as a great display to read novels in. I would prefer that it has a great display with camera because I am addicted to reading wuxia novels and I want to read with a great display. Although others would be worse in terms of performance, I wouldn't mind. What could you suggest?

    Xiaomi CC9 for AT&T?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 07:40 PM PDT

Hi, evening. I hope anyone could give me an accurate answer on this , been searching on line for two days and still couldn't figure it out. I am thinking getting the new CC9 , friend coming back from China and ask if I want one. They know I love xiaomi. But problem is I don't know if the att network would be compatible with cc9. I see there is only band 5 that's matching with att. I don't know if that's enough to be able to use it here. I live in center Atlanta and don't really get out very much tbh. I really like the phone but would be sad if I can't use it in here. And A3 is not quite as good as the CC9. I hope someone can give me an answer . Thank you thank you!!!

How do I replace MIUI on the 9t?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 07:34 PM PDT

Plan on getting a 9t, but was wondering if there were custom roms that were tested on the 9t (couldn't find on the wiki) as well as (preferably exactly) how I'd go about the whole process on the 9t; doing this because I assume I'll get better performance and possibly less telemetry.

Just ordered Mi 9T Pro. Was it a mistake?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 12:36 PM PDT

    My story:

I have an Iphone 6 that is slowly giving up. That's why I want to switch to Android. I have informed myself about possible devices and wanted to buy a Huawei. One day after my decision the US sanctions came. So I started looking again and found out that there are now mobile phones without notch. That inspired me, because I find all cuts in the display terribly ugly and disturbing. A few weeks ago I came across the 9T, which sounded like what I wanted. Then I found out that the 9T Pro was about to be released and today I took the chance to order from Amazon for 399 €.

However, I don't know if I will be happy with the decision. It's not about the money. Whether I spend the ~50 € more or less doesn't matter so much. However, I'm afraid that the large processor of the pro might consume too much battery. Besides, I don't actually play games on my mobile phone. My thought was that the fast processor would meet the requirements even in two or three years rather than the somewhat older one of the 9T and that the phone would be somewhat faster in everyday usage.

I'm not someone who changes phones every two years, but use them as long as they last and don't get too slow.

I should be happy about my decision to make an update but now I'm full of worries and regrets because I don't know better.

    Question about MiUI.

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 12:08 PM PDT

If I installed Nova Laucher and deleted as many of the preinstalled apps as possible, what should I be aware off. Ads in settings and whatever there might be.

    Best regards,

It's there anything better for the price than the mi 9t?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 08:23 AM PDT

I'm planning to upgrade from my redmi note 4, was about to buy the redmi note 7 pro but then i read more about the 9t and it's overall better don't mind a little increase in price. Anyway, what I'm asking its; is there anything better in the mi 9t price point (300 usd)? Just asking if by any chance I'm not seeing some options.

[Question] Mi 9T pro or K20 pro?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 04:09 PM PDT

Im korean and want to buy K20 pro. I heard that Mi 9t pro is just as same as K20 pro and the only difference is selling name of some region(china, india: k20, europe, states: 9t pro)

I really prefer to using custom roms and mods on xda, so their is REALLY no difference between k20 pro and 9t pro?

Going to buy my first Xiaomi phone. Help deciding ?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 10:10 AM PDT

My OnePlus 2 is slowly dying. I was thinking about switching over to Xiaomi. I'm considering the Redmi Note 7 pro as one of the options. Here in India the price is around $230. Wanted to know if there any issues with the device from the users here. Or is there a better option out there that I'm not aware of ?

Buying Xiaomi phone in China or EU?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2019 03:43 PM PDT

    Hi guys!

Lately I have been looking into upgrading my moto g5 plus. Still happy with the phone, but feeling like something new! I am mostly interested in the Mi 9T and the Mi 9T pro.

Coincidence wants that I will be in China for 3 weeks in octobre (definitely Shanghai, Chenhdu, Beijing). Now I was wondering if anybody has experience with buying their phone in China and wether this is an interesting option. I'm aware that there are differences between chinese and global versions of phones, but not as in how far they can be adapted.

    More information is very welcome!
