Program called blerkcloud now constantly running after I fell for an adware trap. Posted: 26 Aug 2019 06:18 PM PDT So I'm a dumbass and ran something that installed adware. I got rid of most everything, except there is this one file that is lingering about called blerkcloud. I have no idea what it is, but, when I try to end it, it ends for a second and then comes right back up, this not allowing me to delete it. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Word has a weird black box instead of a line where you are about to type. Posted: 26 Aug 2019 08:49 AM PDT I don't know why it's happening, and it makes it kind of confusing to know where you are about to type. [link] [comments] |
Is it beneficial to disable the slowest of the two graphic cards I have on my laptop ? Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:53 AM PDT Hello, I have a laptop with 2 graphic cards: a good one and an intel chipset. Can I disable the intel graphic chipset and let the other one do all the work ? This laptop never moves from my desk so I dont care about battery life. Would you recommand it performance wise or just use the default settings (the intel chipset is used for desktop stuff and the NVIDIA card for the demanding programs) ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:28 AM PDT Hello, right now I have a pretty bad PSU , a flotson something, and I want to buy a RX 570 4 GB Msi and I doubt the PSU will be able to handle it. I searched for some PSUs and found those 3 which seem intresting : - nJoy Woden 650W Gold ,80+ -corsair VS series vs550 , 550w 80+ -Thermaltake Smart rbg 500w 80+ -Redragon RGPS500W, 80+ Bronze, 500W All those PSUs are around the same price and my question is which of those PSUs will be able to handle a pc with those specs CPU - FX-6100 overclock to 3.9ghz , I plan on upgrading to a FX-8350 or a ryzen 3 MOBO : asrock 960gm-vgs3 fx RAM : 12 gb DDR3 1866 mhz GPU : RX 570 4GB MSI [link] [comments] |
New GPU no signal. Need insight before returning it. Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:27 AM PDT So in recent months I decided to upgrade my pc with a total overhaul. But it all went horribly wrong when the new GPU almost exploded. So I eventually gave up and went back to my old setup, but I had sold my old GPU, so I needed a new one. I got it today in the mail, and when I turn on the PC everything is working fine but I get no signal. I was using my new PSU (EVGA 600 80+ Bronze) and thought that it might be broken due to the GPU almost exploding a couple of weeks before, so I tried with my old PSU (cheap 500W) which I've used for years with no problem but same result. I tried using another monitor that I know works, and same. You think I got a faulty GPU? Or could it be something else in my system? I've heard old drivers might be interfering, but I have no way of uninstalling them if I cant even see the screen. I must also point out I'm using non of the hardware I was using when the GPU incident happened, except for the PSU and the cable that connects the screen with the GPU (DVI-D with an hdmi converter). So maybe the hdmi converter got fried? Should i go buy a new one? Specs: CPU: i3 6100 GPU: GT 1030 PSU: EVGA 600w 80+ Bronze/ cheap 500w RAM: Corsair 1x8gb MOBo: MSI H110M Pro-D [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Aug 2019 03:40 PM PDT I am a bit stuck as what the issue is, although I have suspicions, I'd like another opinion. Here are some more details of the issue and what I have attempted as a fix.
I'll add any other information as needed. My fears are it's the CPU and/or mobo, but I'm open to other thoughts. Thanks! UPDATE: So thanks to the advice of /u/AttackTribble, I think I have isolated the problem to a faulty power switch. He/she suggested that it might be stuck on the 'reset' mode. I put everything back in my computer, unplugged the power switch altogether, and used the power on button on the mobo. It turned on, reset after a few seconds, did that again, and on the 3rd time it turned on and stayed on, and I'm typing this out on the computer. Obviously this is not a preferred method to turn my computer on. Would replacing the switch entirely fix my issue, or am I doing to have to bust out a screwdriver (which is a bit scary to me)? Please help me find the problem with my pc. Posted: 27 Aug 2019 12:59 AM PDT Specs: i7-9700k stock Gigabyte Gaming X Z390 16gb ddr4 2400 RTX 2080 Super Corsair 800 Psu Windows LTSC 1809 build 17763.107 I built this pc about 7 months ago and everything has been running flawlessly. About a month ago, I started getting crashes in Overwatch with the error of "Rendering device has been lost". I figured it was GPU related, but I am not losing my gpu signal and only the game is affected, no signal loss, os seems fine. It is a common problem in Overwatch it seems, but it started happening in other games. Xcom2, Bioshock 2. It is always the same crash, a simple frozen screen then CTD. No BSDing or OS instability of any kind. This will happen about every 60-90 minutes. It has never happened sooner than an hour after the previous one, and sometimes I can use my pc all night with no crashes. I have tried: using a different GPU, different ram, reformatting os. When I reformatted, it seemed stable for about a week, but now it is happening again with os, gpu, and ram all new/different. Any help finding the issue would be appreciated. If it was my cpu, wouldnt I be getting BSOD / os instability? I hope it is OS related. Also my Psu is 8 years old. I don't know the model number, but it is a mid range corsair. I thought it might be that too, but I wanted to get other opinions before I think about replacing it. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
My friend thinks her iPhone may have been hacked..here’s what happened Posted: 27 Aug 2019 02:21 AM PDT So basically she has an account with the Fiverr app and has her own business on there. Someone approached her that was interested in her services so she was talking to the person like any other client and things got weird real fast. She started telling my friend how she was "scammed" before(In very broken almost fake broken english) and at first it seemed like from the screenshots of the convo she sent me that this person was just trolling. She asked (if it was even a she) my friend for a photo of her so not even thinking of it she sends her one she recently took. The person replied "lol" within LITERALLY two mins she sends her a photo back. The photo? This was a selfie my friend took back in June. A photo she has not sent anyone ever. Not even her boyfriend. And she has taken several photos since then. The "client" then starts threatening her, saying she knows everything about her, and starts saying how "karma will soon hit her." My friend obviously reported the account however, we are absolutely spooked on how this person could have gotten that particular photo, that she has not posted anywhere not even Instagram, sent to anyone, nothing. from two months ago in two mins. How did this client obtain this photo so fast like this? My friend has not been experiencing any strange phone hack symptoms nor have any of her credit cards have been affected. How is this possible that she, the "client" got that photo so quickly when said photo was not sent to anyone other than simply being on her phone. We're a little shocked to say the least. We're thinking either this person has been watching for awhile or somehow they downloaded all her files in lightening speed, went back to her June photos and selected that particular one to send back????? Something isn't adding up here. Thanks for any help or suggestions on fixing this! [link] [comments] |
Accidentally hit "allow" on a shady site to "show me notifications" Posted: 26 Aug 2019 10:11 PM PDT Will this harm my P.C you think? Should I just go back to my restore point from a week ago or is there a way I can stop it from "sending me notifications" [link] [comments] |
Am I going crazy. - is my modem talking??? Posted: 26 Aug 2019 07:47 PM PDT I have a modem...a Ubee DDW36C modem..and I could swear I have heard a voice coming from it three times now. Is there some sort of voice feature or hacking issue that I am not aware of? Do these things even have a speaker?!?!?! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Aug 2019 11:14 PM PDT I have a ASUS GL502VML, running Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18362), and I've decided to upgrade it with a SSD. I was told that the key for my W10 is in the BIOS (the OS came preinstalled), and I'd like to know what steps do I need to take in order to access the key, and what the general process would be to move the OS from the current HDD to the SSD ? Is it just a straightforward HDD format followed by reinstalling the OS on the SSD and activating with the key taken from the BIOS, or is there something else to it that I should know about ? Shutdown when I connect my computer to my 5GHz WiFi Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:54 AM PDT Hi, I recently bought a new laptop which supports 5GHz WiFi. When I connect to the WiFi lately, my laptop totally shuts down and I cant connect to ANY other WiFi anymore. I have to connect the Ethernet-cable if I want internet. Only when I totally reset the Network-settings on my laptop, I can connect to my slower 2.4GHz. I contacted both my Internet supplier and the store that I bought the laptop from, but they both have no idea what's wrong. On all the other devices the internet still works, both frequencies. When I google this, there doesn't seem anybody out there who have the same problems as me, so I thought maybe there's someone here who recognizes my problems. [link] [comments] |

App with weird name stopping restart? Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:49 AM PDT I went to restart my computer because it wouldn't detect the Ethernet and so I clicked a button in my settings saying restart now. It scheduled a restart in 2 hours so I was like screw it and just restarted it myself. However while restarting an app with weird characters and periods was stopping restart. I could only make out the word observer in the jumble. When I clicked restart anyway the PC froze for a second or two then restarted normally. Everything so far has been normal and Norton (My Anti-Virus), didn't detect anything. Should I be worried or planning for the worse? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:38 AM PDT So I just bought a gaming PC, most of every thing I have is dual voltage, therefore, I can plug it into the 240v without needing a step down transformer. But, I do have 1 item I need a transformer for. My question is, do I get a US 110v surge protector and plug it into the step down transformer 240vto110v which plugs into the wall? Or what is the best way to handle this? I am moving back to the US in 2.5 years. [link] [comments] |
Slow PC with many tabs open in chrome Posted: 27 Aug 2019 12:52 AM PDT Hi guys, I really hope someone could provide some ideas about this kind of interesting problem. I have a customer that has very a particular behavior, he tends to have more than 200 open tabs in chrome, but the PC that she has is strong enough to, at least theoretically, be able to pull it off, with a i7 8700k and 32gb of Ram it tends to use like one third of it, and at most like 30 to 40% of the processors cores. The problem is, before loading chrome the system feels quite responsive, as an example, there is hardly any delay when moving the mouse, but once chrome loads even when there are still resources there is a certain delay in the system I would say that things happens in a slower fashion, like with a delay of like 10ms? (can't measure it but it's noticeable). So I wonder what's the origin of this behavior, even though Chrome doesn't eat the whole memory and processor, i wonder if the memory bus gets saturated, or the USB subsystem, or if it is a thing of Intel?, obviously the answer here would be that my customer were less OCD about things, but then she says that such is her way of work. Anyone has ever faced something like this? Maybe many Javascript scripts running in each tab creates and interruption in the system and when you add all of that it might create the situation I described, who knows? Ideas? Hypothesis?. Would these be solved if I throw a xeon processor with way more ram? Or it will be the same? [link] [comments] |
Does The Logitech G203 With Rubber Cable Fit A Zowie Camade Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:35 AM PDT Hello, I am interested in getting the Zowie Camade I am just worried that my cable is too thin. I have a thin rubber cable and saw in videos that The Camade isn't compatible with some mouse with thin cables, is my cable too thin? I also saw a Reddit post asking the same question but he didn't address if he had a rubber or a braided cable. I'm also worried about the weight of the mouse, I do a lot of very big flicks and a lot of over-exaggerated moves with my mouse, is it heavy enough to sustain the flicks. All the help is appreciated. Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:35 AM PDT So today i wanted to install Terraria to play with some frienda on Steam. The game downloads with 7 KB/s. Weird. I made a speed test. The download and upload is 100MB/s. I contacted my ISP and sayed that everything is okay. I sayed maybe then it's steam problem thwn i tryed to install Steep on Uplay to see if the downloads speed is okay. On Uplay it downloads with 5MB/s. Everything was fine and the games were downloading with 13 MB/s on Steam and Uplay and other launchers. What can i do? I contacted the ISP. I tried speed test. I tried everything. [link] [comments] |
Confused about how to hook up an Ethernet cord to my Xbox one x Posted: 26 Aug 2019 10:30 PM PDT Hello Reddit! I do not have a lot of experience in this area so if anything sounds stupid bear with me i'm trying to figure things out over here. I have a wire that comes out of my wall in my room that kind of "screws" into a router to provide it internet throughout my house. Now I cant just connect this wire to my Xbox one x and give it internet like that. So what I have been doing is twisting the cord from the wall onto a router and then from there connecting a Ethernet cable from my router into my xbox. Recently for some reason this router broke and I have been looking for a replacement or maybe even a more efficient method in reaching my goal in providing Ethernet to my Xbox from this cord in the wall. Any router or hardware recommendations that would work for this would much appreciated and I thank anyone that helps me out with this issue in advance. Also what kind of Ethernet cord would I want for this? I've read about Cat5e and Cat6 and im not sure what would be better for my situation. [link] [comments] |
Mail.ru still showing up in search recommendations/autofill and I can't remove with shift+delete Posted: 27 Aug 2019 04:25 AM PDT Some background. I got the mail.ru virus about two years ago. The day I got it I nuked my Windows install since my PC was so bogged down Malwarebytes refused to even open, much less run a scan. I didn't have any issues, but I noticed that since that day about two years ago to now, mail.ru will show up in search recommendations/autofill if I type something like "mail". I've tried the shift+delete trick, doesn't work. This happens across all my devices running multiple different OSes. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this shit once and for all? Thanks!
