Can we get a swipe in the Phone app and Camera to change menus and modes!!!

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 11:35 AM PDT

Swear this was a thing with the OP6. Camera needs it most. You can't quick select the furthest mode unless you select something else first. For instance, if I'm in Video, I can't select Nightscape unless selecting Portrait first or swiping up for all modes. Not much of an annoyance just saying it would be nice to swipe.

Is it possible to display time to charge on OnePlus 7 Pro?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 10:16 AM PDT

On my S8 I got a really useful little text addition to the lock screen and the bottom of the notification drawer when the phone was plugged in telling me how long I should expect the phone to take to charge to 100% based on the charger it was currently plugged in to.
This was really useful for telling if it was going to take ages or if a wire was faulty or similar. The OnePlus doesn't seem to have this functionality. Does anyone know of an app that would provide this or if I am missing something in the settings of the phone?

Has anyone from Canada bought a OnePlus phone from "Swiftronics"?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 04:19 PM PDT

They have their individual store and are on Amazon as well.

I talked to one of their agents and they told me they get their phones directly from OnePlus Hong Kong, the OP7 at least is the international version and not the chinese version, and most importantly, they told me when they get their phones they are not even opened, phone isn't touched at all, it's BRAND new.

Does anyone have any experience with them and can confirm this? I did see some reviews saying they've received scratched products and one even said they told them they open and inspect each phone before they sell them when asked why the seal was broken... but ofc not all reviews are true I guess.

Also a side question, how do these third-party sellers make any money at all from selling these? They're selling the OnePlus 6T for $649 when it's $663 from the official website. How are they selling these for so little? Are they refurbished and they're lying to us? Do they install malware? Do I have reason to suspect shadiness? Not talking exactly about Swiftronics but other Amazon third-party sellers as well.

    Thanks!

edit: Check out the chat I had with them, you guys think they're telling the truth?

Do I need to manually pick sound codecs?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 11:43 AM PDT

    All,

Just picked up Sony WH-1000XM3 and wondering if I need to manually pick a sound codec ie LDAC or APTX HD. Or the phone will automatically choose the best codec? I use Deezer for music streaming, not sure if its even able to use those codecs.

    Thanks for any info!

    Bullet Wireless 2 Opinions.

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 02:04 PM PDT

I'll be able to get a pair of bullet wireless 2 for 30 or 40 bucks and figured I might as well for that price.
I just wanted to hear what people thought about it and I had a question about the magnet on and off thing.
Can you just manually turn off the headphones for when you pack it up so you don't have to worry about them coming apart and pairing with your phone again? That seems to be the only complaint. That and that they might be a tad expensive for the sound quality. Most people seem to say that the 70 dollar price point of the original would've made these a clear steal.

Does anybody here have Google Maps live view?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 11:55 AM PDT

So, I was reading about Google Maps live view (the AR directions), and all sources say that it should be enabled on ARcore devices. The 7 Pro is an ARcore device, but doesn't have live view, or at least mine doesn't. Does anybody have it?

Tricking people with an iOS launcher

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 06:10 PM PDT

So in my school I am the nerdy kid who would know all about the new phones being released. So, I am going to install an iOS launcher on my 6T and tell people it is the new iPhone 11. There are some people on my school who I know will believe me. It will be really funny to see who believes me.

    Transfer Text Messages

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 02:07 PM PDT

Just got the One Plus 7 Pro today. When setting the phone up it gave me the option to restore my text messages from Android Messages on my old S8. I did this and none of the text messages showed up. I used the SMS Backup & Restore app instead and got my text messages on my One Plus but they only show up on the One Plus messages app. None of them show up under Android Messages app. Anyone know how I can make them show up on Android Messages?

    Poetic Hybrid case OP7P

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 05:52 PM PDT

If you have the OnePlus 7 pro and use gestures stay away from the poetic Hybrid pro case. The plastic frame makes it almost impossible to use gesture navigation, which for me is a deal breaker!

Anyone had experience with the OnePlus official repair services from the official website?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 05:47 PM PDT

    Warning: Long Post

So today a nightmare came through for me. Cycling down the road, 7 Pro in pocket, listening to some Spotify when all of a sudden I feel something hit my leg. My jacket pocket's zipper wasn't properly zipped up. I look back and see my 7 Pro bouncing along the road.

I immediately went to pull over and stop but there was a car coming up behind me. It drove straight over my phone and sent it flying across the road, bouncing into a ditch.

My heart sank. I knew there was no hope it had survived and as I dug around the ditch my worries eventually came through. My phone was absolutely destroyed..

As soon as I got home I started to look up if there was anywhere I could go to repair my phone, but it was seeming like I had no options.

That was until I was looking around the official website and seen they had a repair service, of course more for things such as button malfunctions, WiFi connection issues etc. but I decided to give it a try.

I explained my story and ticked essentially every box describing the issue (camera malfunction/battery malfunction/damaged screen/speaker failure etc). I even added pictures of the aftermath of this incident: Aftermath to the end of the service request.

Of course I was not hopeful at all but I got an email shortly after saying my service request was actually accepted, along with shipping labels and details of how to go about sending my device to be "repaired".

Do they just accept every service request regardless of the circumstances and then let you know, when they receive the phone, whether or not they can do anything?

It kills me even more as I cannot turn the phone on anymore so I've no way to get access to my gallery, which is all I care about. We recently had a son born on the 26/07/2019 and over the last 3 weeks, the first 3 weeks of his life, had all been documented through photos/videos on my 7 Pro..

Has anyone had experience with this repair service at all? Or if so, has anyone ever made a request for something like this; more extreme than the options you're given to choose from, and actually have a positive outcome in the end?

Thanks for reading, I appreciate any responses.

TL;DR: My 7 Pro decided it wanted to be a pancake, OnePlus official repair service accepted my request to get it un-pancaked, was wondering if anyone has any experience with this service.

    OP6 Wireless Dash Charge?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 04:31 PM PDT

I've seen those wireless charge adapters which is basically the USBc port attached to a thin pad, which enables wireless charging; I was wondering if anyone has tried that with dash charging. Getting sick of all these cables in my car and want to try wireless charging but still charge fast. Thanks for any help!

Difference between international and Canadian phones?

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 06:55 AM PDT

What's the difference between the international phones and Canadian phones (I guess north american).

I've heard varying answers from it doesn't matter at all they're the same, to international phones don't use Snapdragon they use Exynos which is worse, to international phones are all the same they're just different to the Chinese version.. and also that the Chinese version IS the international version.

Can someone summarize the real difference right here?

(I'm looking at getting the op7 from amazon but worried about what international means?

Conflicted between 6T and 7 Pro

    Posted: 16 Aug 2019 04:37 AM PDT

I like a lot of things about both these phones and getting the 7 would be a perfect compromise but they don't sell in Canada :(

Anyways 7 pro is obviously better spec-wise, but honestly I can't get over the camera module that sticks out, I really don't like it. I use snapchat like 50 times a day, face unlock will be used like 100+ times a day, it's gonna be less waterproof, I just don't really like it that much.. plus it's like $300 CAD more expensive right now.

Is that reason alone worth it for me going for the older 6T or am I crazy?.

If I do get an older 6T will I still get software updates in the future? It's almost a year old so how many more years do I get, 1? 2? 3?

Honestly if it can last me like 3 years I'll be good, even if I don't have the latest Android version.. is that possible with the 6T, an already 1 year old phone??

    Please share opinions :)

Hi, after the latest update 9.5.11 the pop-up camera has risen for an instant and then retracted when surfing using Firefox. Anybody else had this happen? Had it happen 2 times.
