I have a really weird problem that no one can really solve [INTERNET] Posted: 30 Aug 2019 07:22 PM PDT hey guys, Im running couple game servers in my house for games like squad, gmod, minecraft, etc.... But Im having a REALLY weird issue that no one can help me with... Lets say that Im running a dedicated gmod server on my server PC [Running on the same network as my Main PC], everything works fine [the right ports are forwarded and such] and people can join from other countries with great connection but whenever I try to join from my main pc that runs on the same network just starts to experience extreme lag on the server and at the end it mostly say that I timed out, this happened to me on games like GTA4, Minecraft, gmod. But there is one way that I can join these servers without a problem and its really weird. By connecting to a VPN server (currently using ProtonVPN) PLEASE IF ANYONE can help me fix this issue I will be so f*****g happy. Thanks. PS I tried using different operating systems: Ubuntu, Pop os, windows 10 for both the server and the main pc, nothing worked. [link] [comments] |
installed new motherboard and cpu. can't boot from ssd w/ windows 10 Posted: 30 Aug 2019 06:54 PM PDT I just got a new motherboard and cpu since I thought it was time for an upgrade, but I do not want to reinstall windows since it will create a new instance and account. The reason why I want to be able to boot from the old drive is that if I boot from a new windows 10 drive I will lose access to some files and other drives will be harder to access due to not having the proper permissions. is there is a way to boot from the old windows drive on the new motherboard so that I can get up and running easily? making the motherboard recognize the OS in the drive? or will I have to just bite the bullet and try to gain access again through messing with permissions? I know that this is an edge case and probably a difficult issue, but if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 06:10 PM PDT I stupidly disabled the onboard GPU to see if the dGPU works. to reset the BIOS, it should be clear just to remove the CMOS battery for sometime and replace it and you're good to go. But no, not with me, the stupid unlucky. I removed it for 20 minutes with no results, now I can't access anything. I'm panicking because it is not my PC, what to do? please urgent help! Windows 10 won't go to sleep or turn off screen Posted: 30 Aug 2019 09:23 PM PDT I have a fairly new clean install of Windows 10 (Education) 1903 installed on my PC. I've recently realised that the monitors never turn off and the PC never automatically goes to sleep. I changed the settings for both of those, but they never seem to kick in. I tried checking if there is anything in [CMD] powercfg, but came up empty. I disabled WOL in the bios and still nothing. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
