Resources for learning to make better UIs? Posted: 15 Aug 2019 05:48 AM PDT I have been working with personal Android apps for a while, and I feel like I have made some pretty cool stuff. I want to share my apps with other but I feel like my biggest obstacle is making my app look good. They function well but they just don't look professional and I feel like it's a major detriment when using the app. They always remind me if something out of 90s html. I have been trying to incorporate more movement and animation, but I still feel like even the most basic graphics in my app aren't that great looking or cohesive. How did you learn to create better looking UIs? [link] [comments]
App does not support diffrent screen sizes! Posted: 15 Aug 2019 11:49 AM PDT My app on Samsung J7,runs perfectly. But on Nexus S,half layout goes out of the screen...how can I make the app support all devices? please help [link] [comments]
Fake phone gets me a 1 star rating Posted: 15 Aug 2019 03:35 AM PDT I have an app to display your phones CPU Information or device info in general. There seem to be some fake hardware around and I believe one user was not happy that my app correctly displayed his CPU and core-count vs what he sees in the system settings I asked him to verify using adb himself but aside from a profanity laden 1 star review I got nothing. Frustrating ! [link] [comments]
Should I be worried if I haven't received my payout from Google yet? Posted: 15 Aug 2019 11:31 AM PDT On my earnings page it says I made around £350 of revenue last month, but I've yet to see anything in my inbox or bank account... is it possible I've missed something? I confirmed my bank account a few weeks ago. [link] [comments]

On releasing to production will my app go live straight away. Posted: 15 Aug 2019 03:41 AM PDT Or am i able to make the decision after Google have reviewed my app. I want to get the review over and done with but I want my app to release at a certain date/time. I was reading their documentation around this but was a bit confused. Sorry for the probably dumb question its my first time releasing an app. [link] [comments]
First app upload pending publication Posted: 15 Aug 2019 10:23 AM PDT Hey guys, Hope you guys can help me out. This is the first time im publishing an app to the play store on my own account and its been in a "PENDING PUBLICATION" status for almost 2 days now. Is this normal? Ive released several apps before but on accounts that were previously setup and it only took a few hours. 👊 [link] [comments]
Using USB Manager to automatically grant permission Posted: 15 Aug 2019 07:19 AM PDT I am making an app that will allow external devices to be controlled through that app. Every time I plug in a device, I get the popup asking for permission to use the device (even if I already granted it permission to use it and checked the box to remember). Is there a way to just automatically allow all devices and never ask for permission? Or maybe a way to short circuit the permission like [link] [comments]

Managed Google Play Store with Early Access App Posted: 15 Aug 2019 06:28 AM PDT I published a App on the open beta track. I can find the app if I go to https://play.google.com/, if i try fo find the app on https://play.google.com/work I see sometimes my App and sometimes not. If I see it and try to open the details page I get a 404 Page. Has someone experiences to publish a App on the open beta track and make it available under https://play.google.com/work ? Android Update taking awhile (1.5 year old app) Posted: 14 Aug 2019 07:04 PM PDT Hi guys, lately (the past 3 releases) our app has been taking a lot longer to update (~3 to 5 days each time). This started happening for us around July 15. Has anyone experiencing the same problem? I don't recall doing any updates to our settings (ie. checking Google for families etc). Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments]

Can google stop user bullying ? Posted: 15 Aug 2019 03:52 AM PDT We all heard of cyberbullying and lets be real if you don't have a thick skin, you should not publish anything online, including apps. We all have received bad reviews and emails with profanity in them. While google certainly filters out spam 100% there is a lot of profanity in any language which makes it through and remains just fine for google, even if you flag it. In real life has anyone ever gotten a free present, and then responded with something like "Your dumbass tool looks like crap" ? Well in the play store this is the daily 'love' users share worldwide. I think google could take a stand against this trough either improving their AI based filters or through disabling those users ability to post reviews again for some time period. Simply having google sending an email to cyber bullies stating that this is against their ToS would do be a good cool-down effect for users I think. The sad truth is that most of the hostile reviews come from frustrated users who came to their last straw and they think punching back at an anonymous app/email is an easy outlet and accepted on the internet ( Social norm ). A lot of the times this may not even be the apps fault or the app could do what they want if they simply would look at the context menu or the app is legally not allowed to do a certain feature ( E.g. download a YouTube video ) or the app actually has a bug. I am not saying that every bad review is bad. I have found though that the majority of bad reviews with comments are inaccurate and thus unfair to the programmer. However we all know that the chances of someone changing the rating after a response on the play store is less than 5%. What do you think ? Could Google do better improving the situation ? Posted: 15 Aug 2019 03:28 AM PDT Hello, I want to add a feature to my first app where you able to block the whole phone ( for 30 minutes). For example you can open certain chosen application like facebook,Instagram and you tube(Just an example). This is really my first app and I am not really sure if it is possible. I have searched the internet but wasn't sure. My question is this possible in android (no root) ? What source should I use to learn such a feature? starting point? Thank you all guys in advance. :) [link] [comments]
Android app icon design - quick (but dirty;) Posted: 15 Aug 2019 08:53 AM PDT Hey guys, As I am still in early development of my app and I needed to make sure I can quickly create logo for Google Play for it. So I read the new google play logo design guidelines here: https://developer.android.com/google-play/resources/icon-design-specifications And realized that I can actually create my own app logo within my own app! - sort of "a thing creates itself" situation. Here I recorded a small video: In short: - default "canvas" space is 512*512 (how google asks) and you can do higher res. - result will be saved (zip) as svg and png - you can use a premade snippets (by other users) or just use bezier shapes yourself to compile a simple logo - there is some styling available etc. So if you need a quick logo made by yourself - feel free to try it out and help me with feedback if possible. This is still early beta so there might be issues. [link] [comments]
So now all apps on playstore will stop supporting arm7 phones? Posted: 15 Aug 2019 01:59 AM PDT I read google's documentation and it says that arm64 apps are compulsory. but 90% of android phones on earth are arm7. arm64 apps do not install or support in arm7. So does that mean all of the apps on playstore will stop supporting to all most all of the phones? [link] [comments] |
