Just switched from OP3 to K20Pro

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:07 PM PDT

Picked up my K20 Pro on launch day finally retiring my 4 year old battered Oneplus 3 that's served me well.

Got the black carbon fiber 8gb+128gb. Super sexy. The red light effect in the pop up camera can be turned off thankfully.

It's pretty much the same size as the op3, but all screen with no bezels. Just feels tall because of the full screen.

Had some trouble setting up Google play at first since I live in China and VPN service has been spotty recently. Had to download the Google play services apk to get it going.

Still getting used to full screen gestures and the miui interface.

Spent all night getting apps and the phone set up my way with Nova prime.

So far it's been awesome the phone is super quick, I've had 20+ apps opened setting up and it never force closed when I went back to the earliest one.

Will be trying out the cameras soon!

Ask away if you've got questions

Edit 1: fingerprint scanner is quick, still getting used to the placement. Definitely not instant like a physical one on the op3 but still very fast.

Audio from the 3.5mm jack is great, much better than what was on the op3. Music from highest quality download Spotify premium was noticably more clear, could hear more faint details and soundstage is wider. I'm using KZ AS10 earbuds.

Call quality is good, earpiece is powerful and loud.

Speaker is only the one on the bottom, not stereo but it is very loud at Max volume no distortion.

Mi 9T showing up on Amazon

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 03:43 PM PDT

    https://imgur.com/a/xEVRLss

Apparently the Mi 9T went online on Amazon.de for a couple hours. They took it down pretty fast but someone managed to get screenshots detailing price, versions and release of the device.

Can't say if this is legit but wanted to share the news.

Extremely Frustrated, I need veteran help flashing GLobal Rom Into MI 9

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 09:40 PM PDT

My boyfriend was super excited to purchase the Mi 9 for me after he saw how much I was struggling to use my iphone, when I got the Mi 9 I was super happy, until I found out about the ridiculous lock waiting period in order to just switch to a Global Rom.

Not only has Xiaomi Demonstrated how out of touch they are with consumers , I haven't been able to properly flash my phone because despite downloading all the roms from their websites I have managed to brick the phone just trying to be able to use it here.

Every single tutorial I have looked at online is outdated or in Hindi, I am in tears right now because for the past 5 hours I've been trying to get this phone unbricked. Had I known this was going to be such an impossible task I would've never let him buy me this phone, I need to be able to use my google services and I love this phone , but I need someone who has done this literally every day to walk me through this like I am 5 years old because so far it seems like I need 40 different programs just to do one thing.

I need a complete list of EVERYTHING I NEED before i can do this, I just want to be able to use my phone at this point. I feel like such an arsehole because my boyfriend spent a lot of money on this. He feels terrible and I feel terrible. PLEASE HELP. SOMEONE. ANYONE. I JUST WANNT TO HAVE MIUI10 GLOBALL STABLE ON MY FREAKING PHONE!!!!!!!!

    Mi 9 or other model?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 12:38 PM PDT

Hey guys. I currently have a iPhone 7 and want to try Android for the first time.

Watching some reviews I realized that the MI 9 is almost perfect, because the battery duration is poor. A friend recommended me the OnePlus 6T...

So that's my question. Should I go for 6T with better battery but 1 year older or MI 9 with not that good battery but newer?

    Thanks.

    (Sorry for bad English)

About using a Motorola Turbo Charger with Redmi Note 7

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:33 PM PDT

Hello from Argentina, I've recently bought a new Xiaomi cellphone compatible with qualcomm fast charge 3.0 and 4.0.

Well, as you may know, Redmi Note 7 box only have the "travel" charger that isnt fast charge (only 5V=2A)

At home I have my old Moto G4+ charger with "turbo charge"... Do someone know if "turbo charge" will be enabled? Or it will just charge at 5V=1,2A as the charger consider "not turbo"? Will it explode as a good Note 7?

    Pocophone F1 bumper case suggestions?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:14 AM PDT

Hello, I'm really a big fan of bumper cases by Rhinoshield but it's unfortunate Xiaomi phones lack the support from them. Are there any alternative cases out there that nearly does the same thing? Google Pixel's cases too if there are any similar ones for Pocophone, thanks!

    Video playback problem.

    Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:04 AM PDT

I have a new Xiaomi Redmi 7 running the latest build. Images/videos are pixelated in certain apps. Instagram/Facebook/twitch/periscope especially. It's like the videos are not being rendered properly. And instead of being blurred, the images are pixelated when scrolling through Google photos. Here are some examples:

    1 2 3 4 5

The fourth image shows how they should be rendered compared to the third one. it works fine on Google Chrome but not in their native apps. Twitch is especially unwatchable.

I have searched the internet and it looks to be a problem with a lot of Android devices running Android Pie. (Samsung,OnePlus etc)

Innolinks no longer works with Mi Home

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 11:58 PM PDT

My Innolinks Aircon Switch no longer works with Mi Home. The shortcut is defunct, saying "the device is removed". When trying to add, Mi Home won't find it. The device is not listed among devices for manual adding. Scanning the QR code brings up error "failed to identifiy QR code".

Has the support for Innolinks been removed? What am I supposed to do with the switch now? Throw away?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 07:54 PM PDT

I have been using Twilight for years with other devices, but I just got a Note 7 and I have been struggling with it since it doesn't work over navigation buttons, the notification bar nor the lock screen, I might be doing something wrong but I just wanted to see if anyone has a better alternative for this. Thanks!

MI 9 SE or Pocophone F1?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 07:04 PM PDT

Looking to buy a new phone next month and unfortunately the K20 Pro/Mi9t is out of my price range. Been looking at this two phones and I can't decide what to get. I really want an OLED screen and a better camera so the Mi 9 SE appeals more to me but can it last for two-ish years? I can't really buy a new phone annually so I want a phone that will still function greatly for a long time. Should I just get the Poco F1?

What do i need to do?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:09 PM PDT

Hello guys. Currently using a doogee mix and looking to buy the new K20 or possibly mi9

Having not used a xiaomi phone before, I've done a lot of reading through reddit. I keep seeing a lot of comments about g ROMs and flashing phones etc?

What do I truly need to know. If I order a K20 it comes direct from China (I'm in Australia) Can I open the box, put my sim card in, change the language and use it? I'm not the most tech literate so was just looking for advice. Ideally I just want to use Snapchat, social medias, camera etc?

    Thanks guys!

Miui 10 Notification Badge Numbers Vaporise

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 03:42 PM PDT

The notification badges (numbers) are only visible if there is a new notification that you have not interacted. And they just disappear when you dismiss a notification from the lock screen or the bar. In many other OS you can see all unread notifications until you actually read/open the content. (I want to see 987 unread e-mails, 45 messages etc on apps.)

Is there any way to make them permanent so you do not miss any notifications?

That is the one and only disadvantage I cannot solve with Miui. Except that I'm truly in love with my Mi Mix 3 + Nova Prime.

    Redmi Note 7 Front camera

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 01:18 PM PDT

    Hello,

I Just got my Note 7 and so far iam very liking it. The only thing that is kinda annoying me is the front facing camera. The shots are very blurry and the quality itself isn't as good as I saw in YouTube videos. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is the camera just not that good in general ?

Wifi Calling on MIUI, anyone got any success?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 02:00 PM PDT

I'm MIUI Global, 10.3.1, on Mix 3. So far I didn't see anyone get access to Wifi Calling.

What is the progress on this?

The option can be activated, but it's not working.

    IMS settings are not accessible.

It would seem a Emergency address should be entered somewhere.

I've heard it's simply not working in MIUI, but other ROM has it working quite well.

Thanks to anyone who can help solve this.

    Pocophone f1 Vs k20

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:36 AM PDT

I am interested to buy one of the two phones but I am not sure which one. My every day usage is social media (Facebook Messenger Twitter Pinterest Instagram Reddit Snapchat Viber) Games (pubg and some more lite games) I don't care about the design I like the pocophone design. I want to have a good display good& performance. For the camera I only want to take good photos not something crazy. And I do lot of browsing.

I think the Poco is better because of the Snapdragon 845. But what do you think?!

Pocophone F1 Unlock Bootloader "Couldn't Verify Device"

    Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:40 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm giving up and hoping the reddit gods answer my prayters. Steps taken:

-Developer mode activated w/ all settings I.e. usb debugging etc

    -MIUI up to date 10.3.4

    -Latest version of Mi Unlock

-Mi Account logged in and associated with device (in the unlock check menu)

I've found a couple forums that touch on this and I've tried multiple reruns, every odd try I can get Mi Unlock to recognize the phone in fastboot but every time it makes it to 50% during the verification process and I receive the "Couldn't Verify Device" error.

I'm trying to do all of this on a windows 10 machine, I've tried switching between usb ports both 3.0 and 2.0. Oh and the phone is the international version and I'm in Canada, if that make's a difference.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
