The Google Play Store...has developer options? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 04:56 PM PDT So I wanted to see if my Play Store would update to the new version with the redesign and when I clicked on the version number in Settings, I got a toast message similar to that when enabling Developer options in Android. I clicked it several more times until Developer options was enabled. https://i.imgur.com/Zh7unHZ.jpg Once enabled I think the only new option that shows up is called "Internal app sharing" and the description says: Download and install test versions of apps that are share with you. https://i.imgur.com/wcanh6X.jpg Has anyone else seen this? Will Google stop giving Android and services to the Chinese? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:37 AM PDT So I have some stories about tension between The West and The East in terms of Android. (Looks like Fallout type of cold war is coming again!) Is this a sign of Android being banned from Chinese devices? Will the P30 Pro and Mi Max 3 be the last Android phones since US will stop exporting Android to the Chinese? Will Google Play stop working for the Chinese devices etc? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:32 PM PDT So I'm using Android version 8 on a Moto G6 and I'd like to take the direct share option away. When I click the little sideways triangle thing to share a pic, it gives me two "levels" to share to, the top area sends directly to contacts in my various apps and for some reason my phone has chosen to primarily populate this area with the emails for officers at my company 🤪. The bottom part let's me select an app, then I can select a contact within that app to send. It's almost like a two step verification. I much prefer having to click twice over potentially sharing something unsavory with coworkers. [link] [comments] |
Why does Play Store want me to pay again for certain apps? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:28 PM PDT I am just setting up a phone (LG V20 H990DS, running unofficial LineageOS 16), and encountered a weird issue I have not seen before. Most apps have installed just fine, but a subset of the paid apps that are listed in the purchase history of my (only) account are asking me to pay again when I try to install them. I can freely install all of these affected apps on my previous phone, although I think none of them were actually installed on that phone when I found this problem. But why would that matter? And how do I fix it? I tried clearing the Play Store cache/data, but it made no difference. Help, please!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:07 PM PDT This is happening in WhatsApp, Spark and Telegram. It is driving me crazy and seemed to begin out of nowhere a few days ago. I noticed that turning media volume down fixes the sounds playing but this is a temporary fix as if I want to listen to a video out loud and turn the media volume up I will have loud notifications to deal with. I am at a loss. My next step is to factory reset and start slowly adding apps one by one. But I am hoping someone knows what is happening! [link] [comments] |
My Moto One Power has Face recognition in it but I can't use it. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:07 PM PDT The app is installed as shown in the screenshot but it's not showing up in the Settings. Help! [link] [comments] |
Please help me. I'm nervous. Any response is a good one. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 07:44 PM PDT I installed android q beta 3 on my OnePlus 6t. I then found, as many people have, that that decision was a mistake. Mostly because my galaxy watch active would no longer pair with the galaxy wear app. I found that OnePlus has a page dedicated to downgrading to Android pie. I installed the file through google chrome on my phone. I then went on my windows laptop to move the zip file from the downloads folder to the main directory. I went to settings to upgrade locally and did so. I clicked reboot to install it. I then waited a minute or two and I saw the regular one plus boot screen for about half a second. Then another came up that read in yellow text" (!) BUILD VERSION and HW VERSION IS NOT MATCH! " https://imgur.com/gallery/QswRN6r It happens every time I reboot! It doesn't do anything when I hold the volume down and power at the same time. It doesn't show up in windows file explorer. Any advice is good advice. Please repost this or tell me if there is a better place to post to. Please help me. [link] [comments] |
Samsung galaxy a50 dual sim not working Posted: 01 Jun 2019 09:54 PM PDT I cannot get the "dual sim always on" setting to work. It will fail and say that call forwarding and call waiting were successful for sim 1, but failed for sim 2. Tried Google and found a dozen fixes that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated! Trouble sending videos through Facebook Messenger on Android Posted: 01 Jun 2019 09:02 PM PDT Hello there, I have a Samsung s8+ running Android, obviously, and for some reason it won't let me send videos through the Facebook Messenger app. I know the maximum file size is 25mb and I've checked and the file size of the video I want to send is 7.7mb and about 40 seconds long and low rez. I am also using Wi-Fi not mobile data, but I have tried both. When I try it simple comes up with an error saying "video too big. At least one video is too big, please resize and try again" I've looked online and it looks like no one has had this trouble, only when trying to send a file larger than 25mb, so I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated, and if I'm in the wrong subreddit, sorry and I'll take any suggestions to a better sub. Also sorry for bad formatting I'm on mobile. [link] [comments] |
Data saver firewall/vpn with dynamic allocations? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:43 PM PDT I'm curious if there's something like datally, where you can set a cap for mobile data, but instead of a hard cap, I want to be able to set X data for the month which would equate to Y data per day. Days that I am under my allocation would be averaged into the rest of the daily cap. Example, 300mb per month, in a 30 day month (trying to make things easy). That'd be 10mb per day. First 5 days are weekdays, so I use it all. Then on the weekend I don't use any, so 23 days left, I have 250mb left for the month, so the next day my data cap would be... 10.8ish mb. Does something like this exist? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:31 PM PDT I need someone smarter than me. I rooted my Moto g7, flashed magisk with twrp, and everything worked fine. Long story short, I removed magisk, with the uninstall button in the app. It rebooted, and now my phone is in a bootloop. I think when Magisk uninstalled, it removed my TWRP recovery.img. I can hold down the power+volume down buttons, and it gives me a list of options, (start, recovery mode, factory mode, and a few more). Usually I could just start TWRP with recovery mode, but as i said not working. It won't even boot in factory mode, just sticks on one animation over and over. One theory i have; I installed a Magisk Module to change my boot animation, it showed system logs as android booted, I thought maybe the module didn't uninstall all the way, and that's why. Anyway, I'm stuck on a preboot menu, and nothing will work. I tried to use ADB to flash a new recovery.img, but it's not working. I think maybe my phone has to be on for ADB to see it. Anyway, I'd appreciate any help you guys can give me, and thanks in advance. TLDR: I bootlooped my rooted phone, need advice. [link] [comments] |

My lost phone has backed up google drive app data, but it's not restoring! Posted: 01 Jun 2019 07:32 PM PDT I previously owned a Mi A1 that I had gotten stolen, but with Google Drive backup on... I bought a new phone and recently reinstalled all my apps. However, I had just noticed today that Google Drive also backs up old app data, and it's possible to restore it when downloading the same apps onto another phone. BUT THIS ISN'T HAPPENING! All my apps start fresh, and even with "Automatic Restore" turned on, no old data is transferred. App starts anew. I can't seem to be able to get a hold of the old Mi A1 backup from Google Drive, and that expires in 20 DAYS! I have so much crap on my old device (Notes, entries, game progress, downloaded files, etc.) that I'd REALLY like to have it back. I'd like to have a piece of my freaking life back. My new phone is a LG V30, and when clicking on the "Restore" option from Google Drive, it displays that there are... No backups? Despite there clearly being a backup named "Mi A1". Is there any solution to this? Emulator on PC? Direct download? Please? [link] [comments] |

I can root P.S in snap is there a way to hide your friends from the content section after you have viewed their snaps? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 09:14 PM PDT Hi, I have a samsung galaxy s9 on at&t. I found out recently that android pie is available for my particular phone, so naturally I went to update it. However, my phone says it is already up to date. I've checked multiple times and looked at my current version just to make sure I wasn't already on pie. Still, I don't know why this isn't working. Please help, thank you. [link] [comments] |

Audio timing out when app is on in background. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:41 PM PDT Samsung Galaxy S8+. I used to be able to play audio from an app the audio would continue when I opened a different app. Recently, if I have an audio app playing and then I open another app, the audio stops after about a minute. This happens regardless of which app the audio is coming from. It also happens regardless of if Do Not Disturb or Battery Saver Mode are on or off. [link] [comments] |
Apps at homescreen get removed after using Maximum Energy Saving Mode on Samsung S8. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 02:46 PM PDT Hello. After using Maximum Energy Saving Mode and then turning it off my app icons on home screen get removed, only widgets stay in there. Also the apps get sorted alphabetically, not how I set them to be. I have Samsung S8, using One UI launcher. The problem started to happen recently, as I haven't had that one before and I used the power saving mode. Only two apps icons stay on homescreen, others get removed after using the saving mode. Not sure what I am supposed to do. Thanks [link] [comments] |

Google messages taking 5 gb, need help clearing Posted: 01 Jun 2019 06:05 PM PDT Hello, I am using a Galaxy S9 + with the latest version of android and Google Messages. Was cleaning up storage when I saw that Messages was taking 5 gigs, which I am assuming is mostly from photos. A few contacts and I make heavy use of the gif feature and so many of the pictures are things I don't care to save. A bunch are pictures I do want to save though. I am assuming clearing data in app manager will erase everything? What's the best way to clean this out without resorting to going through all the photos in the Messages search page to delete unwanted and download (to upload to drive) wanted photos one by one? It's quite a few... Thanks for the help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 05:41 PM PDT been having this really weird problem, started about a month ago, at first I thought it was something wrong with the tumblr app, but like a week ago the twitter app started doing the same thing so now I'm wondering if it's my phone? this doesn't happen on the main Timeline page, only when I'm in someone else's profile. but since I do that a lot to find new accounts to follow so it's really annoying. So I'd click open someone's account/blog, scrolls down a bit, clicks open a post, finish reading and press back button, and now instead of going back to previous scroll position, which is what it used to do, it goes back to the top of their page, and i have to scroll down manually again to get to where I was anyone else had this problem or know what might be causing this? thanks in advance. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 08:56 AM PDT I have a second hand phone which I want to sim unlock, though the x is in the network subset. Also, there is no more prompt for me to insert an unlock code, which I have frequently seen in the sites I have looked on. I also have seen sites that says they would provide unlock code by giving them the phone's IMEI and the phone's previous network. Are they legit? If so, could you recommend a trusted site? Reminder apps not waking screen. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 05:05 PM PDT How do I get reminder apps to wake the screen and make sound? Right now say I set a reminder for 730. If I have my phone open, it will remind me and make a sound. If my phone is closed, it will only remind me when I open it. [link] [comments] |
