OnePlus 7 Pro 8GB after a few days Posted: 02 Jun 2019 06:31 AM PDT Hello, Like most of us, I consumed as much info before making the purchase, and eventually, made the purchase. I'd like to share back from what I have learned and experienced myself. I will provide 2 perspectives, one that relates to stuff I read, and the other more free form of review. Intro: Coming from a long list of smartphones, and a picky nature, I know what's important to me.Owned: Galaxy S1,S2,S3,Note1/2,Note5,Nexus4/5,LG G2/G4/G6,HTC10/U11 -> OP7ProSo my last phone before OP7PRO was the HTC U11, I will thinking of it as reference.
Contenders to OP7PRO:
Known issues (read about them before the purchase) :
Freeform review : I'll say it straight away, I love the phone. It's damn awesome. I fly racing drones so I use GoPro a lot. When I connect the microsd via USB-C card reader it is recognized instantly, copy speed is good, probably capped at SD-Card read speed. (it is an expensive one) I was quite sad that I couldn't TRIM a GoPro file (2.7K 30fps) with the built in gallery. I want a loseless trim, Maybe I'll wrap ffmpeg with some Frontend. I won't suggest this phone to anyone who cares about the camera. But I will for everything else. App installs, backup restores, everything that has to be done when switching a phone, all was so quick, such a breeze, smooth... Vibrator is great, feels very very tight and strong. Issues I experienced so far

OP7 Pro auto brightness glitch Posted: 02 Jun 2019 11:29 AM PDT I have been having an issue with 7 Pro since basically day one with the auto brightness. I'll be sitting using the phone and the brightness will be completely fine, then all of a sudden it will go to what appears to be fully dim like you turned off all the lights or covered the ambient light sensor. If I put the phone to sleep for a few seconds and wake it back up it will go back to a normal brightness level but it's pretty annoying to have to do this several times a day. I've tried searching and haven't found any mention from anyone else having this specific issue, but I can't imagine it's a hardware fault since it works perfectly fine 95% of the time. It seems like a software issue. For reference, I keep the brightness slider at about 1/3 all the time with auto brightness always on. As an aside, what makes it worse is that the glare on this phone is the worst I've ever seen. Not just the curved sides, which I don't love either, but even the center of the display reflects overhead lights to a degree I honestly don't remember seeing on a smartphone for years. I can't enter short codes using my 7Pro on Tmobile Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:11 PM PDT I'm trying to set forwarding to my Google Voice #, but whenever I use the short code **61*1+PhoneNumber# , or any short codes for the matter, I get the error message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." And when I try accessing the Call Forwarding menu in Phone Settings, I get the error message "Call settings error, Network or SIM card error." Tmobile blames this on Oneplus and being a unlocked factory phone. And oneplus is blaming Tmobile saying short codes are standard and it is their network rejecting the query. Oneplus suggested I get a new simcard. Any thoughts on why my phone can't access short codes or the Call Fowarding, or Caller ID menu in phone settings? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 05:10 PM PDT Hello, I just moved from an Iphone to a Oneplus 7 Pro. The phone is great, I'm just having a problem with group messaging. I am able to send my message to the group and receive the messages as well but I don't know who specifically is writing the message back. Mine is blank on the side/ top of the message while my SO, which has a pixel, shows the name of the person on top of the message. Looks like I can hold the message to see the number that messaged back but that would be a hassle every time to see who is actually replying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The pop up camera doesn't retract when used in other apps than "camera" Posted: 02 Jun 2019 04:50 PM PDT As the title mentions... My nebula blue op7 pro doesn't retract it's camera when using it for whatsapp or whatsoever. Makes me more cautious of using it then. [link] [comments]
My 6T is making notification sounds even when i have it set to Vibrate Posted: 02 Jun 2019 09:58 AM PDT Just started happening yesterday. Is this a bug and is there a fix? [link] [comments]
First charge on my new OP7 pro Posted: 02 Jun 2019 07:53 AM PDT This thing has absolutely crazy battery life, which I can't kill in a day. I played Spotify on full volume for more than an hour on the phone, listened to YouTube videos on speaker and was on LTE most of the day(with dual SIM that is) Resolution set to auto and refresh rate at 90Hz. I can't even imagine how the battery will be if I switch to WiFi + single SIM, and when battery settles down after a week. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jun 2019 06:13 PM PDT Hello all. I just flashed oxygen os the latest open beta for the OnePlus 6T. I then go to test the camera and I was greeted with Low storage space. adjust picture resolution or free up space. I then proceed to format and wipe the internal storage. Then reinstall the rom. And i am stlll having the same issue. Do you have a fix to this thanks!! [link] [comments]
Anyone elses OP7 Pro hear popping from the top speaker? Posted: 02 Jun 2019 05:55 PM PDT I've noticed it when I first got my phone a over a week ago that my top speaker already sounds blown, or something like it. I was just listening to the different ringtones and a lot of them have a popping sound coming from only the top speaker. I went to a T-Mobile store to compare their in store phone, and that too had the same popping noise. Is my phone and that stores phone random bad ones (as far as speakers go)? Or is this more common that I think? I haven't seen it mentioned in this sub at all. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:47 PM PDT Anyone else experiencing this? Photos I take up close don't seem to focus well, even when I try to manually focus them in the viewfinder, and the resulting picture is usually pretty out of focus except for dead center Eg I tried to take a picture of a flower and even when it focused in the viewfinder the picture wasn't properly focused well. Upgrade coming up, and considering a 7pro Posted: 02 Jun 2019 07:43 PM PDT As the title says, I'm due for an upgrade soon. I am with Verizon and as soon as I saw that the 6t and 7pro were certified I got really excited, and still am. I've read that the OnePlus phones are still a little wonky with Verizon networks. My question is, what do you guys suggest, and what are your experiences from those who have a OnePlus with Verizon? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 07:38 PM PDT I'm looking at getting a Oneplus 7 pro and have a question. I have AT&T and would like to keep it as I've got a killer deal. I want to know that if I order the phone from the website, is it unlocked and would allow me to use AT&T without having to switch to T mobile? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 11:49 AM PDT Any ideas? I don't really want to go the support route, but I guess I'll probably have to. I tried the 15 second power boot trick, tried it while charging. Not getting anything. I was using it this morning, left it on my bedside table for an hour or two, came back and it was dead. As far as I know it had around a 50% charge when I left it alone this morning. I figured android crash, but it's not hard booting. [link] [comments]
How are the official one plus screen protector and nylon case? Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:53 PM PDT Going to be picking up the 7 when it comes out in two days and wondering how people have found the official nylon case and 3d glass screen protector? It seems like they are the same for the 7 as they were for the 6 series Obviously in terms of case I want what everyone wants, a balance of protection without adding too much bulk to the phone. How have people found the screen protector? The Dbrand protector is tempting because of that fancy ad where they hammered the phone with a nail [link] [comments]
[Request] Guide to installing OxygenOS on Chinese OP7Pro Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:03 PM PDT Hi guys, I'm getting a Chinese OP7pro running Hydrogen OS, and I'd like to change to the standard Oxygen OS - I don't want to root or loose ability to use Netflix/google pay etc. What tool do I need? Where do I get the latest stable Oxygen ROM? I'm new to this, is there a guide I could follow? I'm thinking it might be this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/development/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3930862/page12#post79652430 Thanks so much for your assistance! Posted: 02 Jun 2019 11:11 AM PDT Since a few days I always get notification sounds while using headphones (headphone mode is set to "ring tone mode") and phone is muted. I can't tell exactly since when this originally occurs but in the last time it is getting annyoing. [link] [comments]
Alternative to iPhone control center? Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:05 PM PDT So I got a new OnePlus 7 pro and am very happy with it, but it's also my first annoyed phone so it's an adjustment. I miss iPhone's swipe up menu, and I have having to swipe down twice from the top of my phone just to turn on the flashlight. Are there any cool Android alternatives? Like an app that can put the alarm app or flashlight in the app switcher? My phone came with Mobilego but it's very laggy [link] [comments]
Microphone problem also on OP7? Posted: 02 Jun 2019 06:57 AM PDT Hi, I've had the OP6T since December and I really like the phone, one of the only problems I have is that microphone works like shit with 3rd party apps and I can't find a fix (don't want to buy an external microphone). Is this problem a thing with OnePlus 7 Pro as well? [link] [comments]
Oneplus trade in program. Is this a good deal? Posted: 02 Jun 2019 05:07 PM PDT I have a Galaxy S10 and I am in love with the Oneplus 7 Pro. Oneplus is giving me $760 Canadian for my S10 (128 GB variant) which I got more than a month ago on contract. I will still have my contract on and will not have to pay anything to my carrier. Do you think its a good deal? Should I go for it? [link] [comments] |
