Whatever music channels you typically get when you have cable/satellite tv. There's these dues in my town that basically hook up your tv through your internet connection so you can watch everything free. i.e. I know it can be done, just no idea how. Any insights? The 3rd time I on my pc the same thing happened again. Did I buy a defective laptop? [link] [comments] |
Noob question - integrating second PC in my set up Posted: 02 Jun 2019 04:00 AM PDT Hi, I am recently being allowed to work from home (2 days per week only, max) but only from a specific works PC, they won't let me use my own PC for this. But I also want to carry on using my normal PC except when I am working. My current PC set up is 2 monitors, one connected VGA and one connected HDMI (these are the only inputs on my existing PC.). Dell on right is VGA, and the BenQ on left is HDMI. I do not want to have to start switching around cables and everything, is there an easier way? My new works PC is very small, Dell OptiFlex 3050. Someone at work also gave me a 'Dell Dual Video USB 3.0 Docking Station' but not sure what this is for or whether helpful here? Some images here Sorry if this is the most ridiculous question ever. Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:10 AM PDT Wifi connection keeps dropping out (every 5-10 min) when housemate is at home. Stable when I'm home alone. When my wifi does dc, I typically have to wait 30sec-1 minute for it to automatically "reconnect" back to the network, or use Windows Network Diagnosis tool. OS: Windows 10 Using DHCP dynamic IP. I know it's not a IP conflict because I've checked the list of leased devices and there's no clash. I've already gone into my Power Management of my WiFi Adapter and made it permanently on, and switched to manual DNS with Google's 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 servers. I've already tried giving myself static IP, but the problem continues to occur. Any ideas? Maybe there is just not enough bandwidth for the both of us or something? I NEVER had this issue until this person moved into the house as well. I also noticed he put some sticky tape + aluminium foil onto the router antennas, could this be causing the issue as well? What can I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 12:00 AM PDT Hi, I noticed a drop in fps on Rainbow Six: Siege down to 60fps and now I'm locked there. The only thing that I can think of that I did was unplug the hdmi when moving the monitor but I doubt that has anything to do with fps. I have updated windows and my drivers, what else can I do? HDMI cable does not work sometimes Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:41 AM PDT I have a PC and a brand new monitor. Since the monitor has a better image I connect both with a HDMI cable. But sometimes the monitor does not work. It is not the cable because when I connect the PS4 to the monitor it works every time and when I remove the cable the monitor wakes up from sleep mode. I reconnect the cable, restart the PC but it does not work. Any advice? [link] [comments] |
1080 ti artifacts. The temperatures are always stable. Posted: 01 Jun 2019 09:40 PM PDT So, like half a year ago, my 1080ti started artifacting in very demanding games. I downclocked it's memory clock in MSI afterburner by 100 and was able to play as usual. Two months later or so, I was already playing with -200 memory clock, -100 core clock, fast forward today, I'm at -400 memory/-500 core and any demanding game crashes within first 20 minutes. The weird thing is that GPU temperatures are even below average. I mean it is logical to assume that my GPU is dying but whenever I google it, I always find that its high temperature that causes artifacts. My GPU's temp under load is 65-70 maximum. So, basically, I know that it's likely that my 1080ti is dying but could there be ANY other reason? Why are the temperatures normal? I've also opened the case and made sure that PSU cord is properly connected, and it is. It's not even that hot while I'm playing. So is there anything I can do besides buying a new card? Too late for this one to do an RMA. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:37 AM PDT Hi there, My pc was working fine for years until today. My pc powers on: all the fans are spinning, cpu, gpu, and the case fans. There are also no beeps from the mobo. There is no display (monitor is working correctly) and my keyboard isn't powered. Could this mean that my motherboard is dead? My motherboard doesn't have video output, so I can't test that.(old fx 6300 processor w/ no integrated graphics). [link] [comments] |
Connection to my room is too slow Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:27 AM PDT I have a very fast new intern wifi adapter and hoped this would solve the problem. But it didn't, the connection to my pc's in my room (2nd floor) is just too slow. When i use my pc near the router (1st floor) it works very well with less than 15 ms. But in my room my ping is always 200-600 ms. I can't move the router upstairs because it has to be connected to the dns socket on the 1st floor. A network cable is also not an option. Is there anything else i can do? [link] [comments] |
My computer automatically restarts when I'm not interacting with it. Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:27 AM PDT So my problem is that my desktop computer automatically restart whenever I'm not interacting with it. So when I play games it never happens or when I watch youtube or movies. But whenever I pause the video to go eat dinner for like 10 minutes I come back to it being in login screen. I have even sat down and waited for it to happen to try and solve the problem. After a while everything just turns black and you can here the computer shut off like someone pressed the button and the start up again. But there's not blue screen or etc, its just like someone pressed the restart option. Is there anyway to solve this problem? I recently got a new hard drive and the problem kinda came after I started using it. Does it have a connection or is this just a coincidence? I can submit video of it if needed. [link] [comments] |

ASRock Taichi z370 green light crashing Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:18 AM PDT My PC has been crashing, seemingly at random. This has been happening for about 4 days. The motherboard used to display a red light when the PC was on, but now the light is green instead. When the crashes occur, the PC tries to auto-restart itself, clicking loudly (maybe from the PSU), and the fans spin for about 0.5 seconds. The "mobo display" shows 00, 15. After trying to restart itself for a couple minutes, it seems to eventually turn on. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:18 AM PDT Title covers most of it. Basically I just get a random black screen while I'm playing a game which just so happens to be when I have chrome open which is 100% of the time when I'm on my PC playing stuff. Not sure if it's ever done it without Chrome but it happens so infrequently I can't narrow it down to what. There is no corresponding error message in Event Viewer and neither do I get the "nvlltpkd.exe has stopped and recovered successfully." or whatever message I'd seen on my older PCs. Any ideas on how I can figure out what the cause is, or is it normal? Running an NVidia GTX 1080 EVGA SC2 GPU with i7-6700k cpu, no overclocks on anything. I also run a dual-monitor setup with one 144hz monitor and another 60hz monitor if that might have anything to do with it. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How do I get downloaded fonts to work in Word? (Windows 10, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019) Posted: 02 Jun 2019 03:00 AM PDT I have a new laptop with Windows 10, including the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 software. When I download special fonts (from dafont.com etc), the font downloads, installs (installed via the "install" window when I open the font file (shows as .ttf but then says it's OpenType on the install window), shows up correctly as installed in the Fonts section of my Windows settings, and appears in the font list in Word. However, when I try to actually type in Word using the font, it just looks like standard Calibri. Is there something I'm doing wrong or something I should do to make the fonts work? I'm used to doing this same thing on Windows 7 where it just installs and then works so I've never had this issue. [link] [comments] |
Nvidia Graphics Card "3d flickering/spiking" Posted: 01 Jun 2019 11:02 PM PDT Hello people, I have a problem regarding my laptop. Just yesterday whatever you see in the 3D preview happens in every game I play. I have NVIDIA GeForce 840M, it was already in my laptop when I had it 3 years ago so I don't know what's the cause. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver yet it didn't help. The last time I used my laptop before the glitching happened was 3 days ago; I turned my laptop off for 3 days because I went somewhere. I didn't download any software that could possibly affect it. Right now I disabled the driver and now running on Intel 5500 (which is weaker than Nvidia 840M). I'm thinking that outside dirt or something could have affected my laptop but I don't really know the main cause. Any help will be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jun 2019 10:59 PM PDT My wifi speed is getting slower day by day. Yesterday, I test the wifi speed and the download speed is 50 mbps+ but, today I tested it and the download speed is 1mbps now. I turn the router off, waited 20 second and turn it on, it goes back to 50mbps+ why is this happening? Should I call the internet provider? Or is there other solution to this? I can browse the internet smoothly without any problems but, when I download something it just downloads so slowly [link] [comments] |

Windows 10 1903 update has broken Remote Desktop incoming connections Posted: 02 Jun 2019 02:36 AM PDT Got a real head-scratcher after updating my 3 PCs to Windows 10 1903 recently. Basically, I have one PC set up for media and use RDP to remotely access it if necessary. After 1903 this PC no longer will accept any form of incoming RDP connection. The other two PCs accept RDP connections fine, even from the problem PC, and all three can see each other on the network fine. Event Viewer logs for RemoteDesktopServices_RDPCoreTS on the affected PC comes up with an error
every connection attempt, while the clients return
from the other PCs and
from the RDP Android app (the app detects the presence of the PC when adding a new connection however). I have done a clean reinstall of Windows 10, forcing the security layer to be RDP and disabling NLA via registry on the host PC and deleting the saved credentials and certificates from the client PCs with no luck so far [link] [comments] |
