This Sub complaining about new Xiaomi phones not living up to their expectations makes me sad

Please vote me down if this quick rant makes you upset, but I cannot stand people who were bowing to Xiaomi hyping the K20, branding it the OnePlus Killer, and once released and tested hands-on, they are ranting against Xiaomi.

Seriously, what did you expect for 350$? A premium phone that is at the same level of the 750$ OP 7 Pro?

Lets be realistics, Xiaomi stated that they only get 5% profit of every phone they make, and even though for the prices they put, the quality-price is top notch.

But oh, doesn't have NFC? Xiaomi bad, doesn't feel as premium as their 400-500$ flagship? Xiaomi bad

We should be thankful to have Xiaomi offering us quality over price, if what you want is to have an orgasm when you touch your phone, go for the 1000$ Samsungs, Huaweis and Iphones.

Just because a 300$ phone that has literally the same specs as OP7 pro, doesn't have the same quality build, doesn't entitle you to bury the brand itself.

I thank Xiaomi for letting me have a RN7 for 150$ that will last me 2 years, I thank them for having the choice, we should thank them for making us realise, that paying 1000$ for a phone, its for phonies.

    Peace

[MIUI] Can't use white wallpaper because all the icons on the top are white, is there a way to go around this?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 07:38 PM PDT

Hello everyone! Recently I bought a RN7 and I've been loving every minute with it, but one thing that bothered me a little bit is that when trying to use this wallpaper I noticed that all the icons on top of the screen in my home screen are white, so I can't see them. Here is a screenshot.

Is there a way to go around this?

I noticed that on the lock screen and a few apps the icons are black so I imagine there is some way to make the same icons dark on the home screen. While I'm here, is there a way to make the clock in the lock screen dark too?

What the heck is my Mi9 trying to do here? Seems like random scanning

    Posted: 30 May 2019 01:19 PM PDT

So, I just checked on my Pi-Hole's query log, and I'm absolutely perplexed, because it has a lot of entries like this, all coming from my Mi9:

    K20 pro vs non pro

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:21 PM PDT

Is the non pro version worth getting over the pro version? Will there be any noticeable difference between snapdragon 730 vs snapdragon 855? I mainly use social media apps youtube, and pubg is the only resource intensivegame I play.

Recommendation for tempered glass for Redmi Note 7

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:35 PM PDT

Just got a Redmi Note 7. Was looking for a good screen protector. But most of them were ones with black borders and the user reviews say that the black borders cover part of the screen . And the clear ones I found either didn't have any reviews or the reviews weren't very good.

If any of you can recommend a good tempered glass screen protector then I would be very grateful.

Redmi 4 in 'earphone mode' even after removing the earphones and restarting

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:11 PM PDT

So basically the earphone icon is still up after taking them off. I can't play anything or hear anything from the speakers because it still thinks the earphones are in. And also, the microphone doesn't work when taking calls, possibly because of this. I've used this phone for maybe a year and a half, without any major issues until now.

Is it a hardware problem or something to do with Android?

Went to Mi Store for the K20 Pro, Wasn't Impressed

    Posted: 30 May 2019 06:27 AM PDT

Pic All personal opinion, so feel free to disagree. For example, I don't consider a bigger battery that important.

I was a bit disappointed the moment I picked it up.

It just felt much bulkier than the Mi 9, it felt less polished than the Mi 9. It's an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 7 instead of a cost down version of Mi 9.

The pop-up camera IMO is a worse solution to the tear-drop notch, it adds up too much weight and internal volume for that little extra screen space.

    So for me:

    Mi 9

Pro: Much better feeling in the hand, wireless charging, IR blaster, better camera. No pop-up camera

    K20 Pro

Pro: Battery, headphone Jack, latest gen FP reader.

The thing is that Mi 9 will occasionally go on sale for ¥2800 (6GB ram+128G), which is only ¥200 more expensive than the K20 Pro, and the K20 Pro hasn't started shipping yet. For me, if I had to buy a Xiaomi phone right now, it will be the Mi 9 for sure.

Redmi K20/Mi 9T is not the Poco F2

    Posted: 30 May 2019 08:53 PM PDT

I don't have a source for it. But the sources that are saying that the Redmi K20 will come as the Poco F2 don't seem to be reliable at all. They are creating further confusion in people's mind. Xiaomi probably needed 2 flagship brands in China, since Poco is not there in China. So they launched Redmi K20 was launched in China. Globally it will be called the Mi 9T(as per most reports), simple as that.

Should I get the Note 7 or Pocophone?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 08:29 AM PDT

The Note 7 is around $220 and the Pocophone around $300. I don't play games on my phone but I do care about camera quality. I am hoping the phone will last for 2-3 years. Is the Pocophone worth the extra money? Thanks for the help.

Xiaomi Mi 9T pre-order and price

    Posted: 30 May 2019 05:23 AM PDT

checking on the e-commerce sites, I found this site where I already keep the xiaomi mi 9T in pre-order at the price of € 359.99, it looks so good a price so low after the latest news. I contacted the assistance for clarifications, they confirmed to me that the price is what they have, I also asked if in the future it could increase, he replied that at the moment the price is that and only in exceptional cases could it vary with the possibility of cancel the pre-order

What the hell issues with my Mi8 global

    Posted: 30 May 2019 05:22 AM PDT

Since I got the update, the battery life of my phone has almost been cut in half. I just took it out of the charger, no apps running, and set it next to me in the night table while I was sleeping. When I woke up like an hour and a half later, 15% of the battery was gone, just like that.

Also, the device starts heating up when inside my pocket, out of nowhere, and we are in autumn right now so it's not like it is hot (around 15°C).

Back on the 10.2 version, I could use it as much as I wanted, with Bluetooth and every connection setting on, auto brightness and everything, and it could get to the end of the day with maybe 45%. My phone is only 5 months old. Just writing this took 4% of my battery away, I just don't get it.

PS: after realizing I lost 15% out of nowhere, I checked battery usage, and stated that 64% of that 15% was consumed only by Android System.

Nova Launcher users, how do I make the black bar around the notch disappear?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 12:47 PM PDT

I just picked up the Mi 9, my first ever Xiaomi phone. I'm trying to make my wallpaper in Nova Launcher go all the way to the top of the screen, but there's a black bar hiding the notch. I don't want that. I tried toggling the settings to allow Nova to operate in the full screen mode, no matter what I do, that black bar is still there.

    Any suggestions?

    Edit: I figured it out.

I had to go to Nova settings -> look and feel -> show notification bar (uncheck); transparent notification bar (check)

    Redmi note 7 durability

    Posted: 30 May 2019 06:45 AM PDT

    Hello everyone.

Yesterday I bought a redmi note 7 and it's currently being delivered to me. Ive been watching some videos about the durability of the phone and I'm a bit worried now. In some videos the phones seems to break and bend very easily while in others it seems to be quite durable. Can anyone who owns the phone give me some feedback on it ?

Redmi note 7 slow motion stuttering

    Posted: 30 May 2019 12:01 PM PDT

Just got my redmi note 7 yesterday, the camera is great, 60fps recording is smooth as fuck, but i can't make slow motion work properly in the default camera app.

I tried using a GCam version and slowmo works fine, but it's kinda buggy, 60fps mode zooms in a lot, picture quality is decreased, etc.

Also, doesn't the default gallery app have some kind of edit/slider to set were the slowmotion begins and ends?
