Yes I know the tradition with Samsung is two major OS updates and then it's security updates from that point. My thinking is that customers, especially the Note 8 crowd, spent $1k in 2017 on the Note 8. Yes it got Oreo and now Pie. But I'm certain it has the ability to run Q. Do you think based on the higher price of Samsung flagships that they would consider giving them more than just two major OS updates? [link] [comments] | ||

Actually I'm using OnePlus X but cancerous thermal throttling, bad battery and f€&#@d dpi (It's giving sprain to my fingers) make it not a daily usage device. Mi A2 lite seemed perfect but notch is so awful and there are some missing features like NFC and Wifi 5ghz. So, my question to Samsung A40 users is: Is it good enough? Can you provide feedback? [Long] Samsung customer service absolutely sucks Posted: 28 May 2019 02:33 PM PDT I had the misfortune of having to have a warranty repair done on my Gear IconX (2018) through Samsung. I'll tell you my story and you can see for yourself how little communication is going on at Samsung. So about 2 months ago, I started having problems with my Gear IconX, which was not a big issue for me. I understand things break and need to be repaired. Luckily for me, the headphones were still under warranty so I wouldn't need to buy another pair or pay for repairs out of pocket. I went to the samsung website and talked to their customer support about a repair order. Everything went smoothly at this point. I got the UPS label immediately and sent in the headphones the next day, on April 1st. I was told it would take 2 days for Samsung to receive the headphones, maximum 1 week to work on it, and another 2 days to send them back. 2 weeks max turnaround time, not bad at all. After sending them in, I'm patiently waiting for the headphones to appear in the mail, but 2 weeks turn into 3, and I start getting impatient. I talk to Samsung CS again, and they tell me it should be ready soon, and to just be patient for another few days. I wait 2 more weeks, but still get nothing in the mail. I talk to their CS again, but this time I'm told they haven't had any Gear IconX in stock for a while (so that other CS rep just BS'ed me), but I'll be sent in their new Galaxy Buds along with a check with the difference in price. I'm happy upon hearing this since I wasn't completely satisfied with the IconX. The rep tells me again that I'll be sent everything soon and to again just be patient. At this point, it's been a month and a half and I'm getting worried that I'm not gonna be getting anything any time soon, so I decide to talk to them on their Facebook support page since I've had better results with them when I had to have my DOA Galaxy S8 replaced. I get in touch and they tell me I have either a choice of a full refund for the Gear IconX or I can get the partial refund and the galaxy buds. I foolishly chose the later. The agent confirms my info and for the first time during this entire nightmare, I get an email confirming that I'll be receiving the partial refund check (This is the first time in about a month and a half that I got any email confirming any activity from Samsung). A few days pass and I ask the Facebook team for an update, and I get told that it seems like someone cancelled the order for my Galaxy Buds. Fuck. The agent lets me know he'll track down why it was cancelled and make sure the buds get shipped ASAP. I let him know I'm gonna be going on vacation in a week and a half, so it'd be great to get these before then. No such luck. I check in the day before I go on vacation, and get no replies. I decided to say fuck it, and not look at anything while on vacation so that I'm not stressed out over little things while on vacation. After I get back home from vacation, I check the chat and see that they asked me if I got the check. I check my mailbox and yup, there's the check. The day after I got the check, I get another message from the agent asking me to fill out a survey of my experience... as if this issue is done. I still don't have the headphones. I continue asking for updates, but now I'm not getting any responses from them either. I go back to live chat, and they said the ticket is cancelled again, and after about 45 mins on chat, I get told that there are no updates, and I'll have to talk to them on the phone for any other info. I've been purposely avoiding talking to them on the phone this whole time so I have written confirmation of what's going on with the process, but I bite the bullet and call them up the next day. Once on the phone with Samsung the next day, I let the agent know my ticket numberand confirm my address/phone number. I tell her that I've been waiting almost 2 months and haven't gotten the headphones still, and she puts me on hold so that she can investigate. About 10 minutes of being on hold later, she comes back and says she needs to transfer me to another department, without giving me any extra info. I get transferred and this person does a much better job of explaining the situation for me. Apparently, when the repair job was opened, it was cancelled almost immediately after the headphones were received (No agent before was able to tell me this, everyone before this guy just said to be patient and wait a little bit longer). He said the Facebook people did re-open the ticket, but since the people at facebook sent the check first, the ticket for the galaxy buds was closed automatically (Their system first sends the replacement, and then the compensation check. If the check is sent first, the system assumes the replacement was sent already). The guy opens another ticket for me, and we part our ways. This guy was by far the best agent I've encountered. He actually gave a fuck. Being mad as fuck that the Facebook people don't know their own system, I let them know what I found out from the phone call. The guy seemed genuinely apologetic, and said he'll try and have the shipment expedited. That was yesterday, and today I received an email with the tracking number. Hopefully I've served my time in hell and nothing else goes wrong with this order. This is my absolute last time buying a Samsung product, which genuinely saddens me. I love the work they put out, and the updates, although slow, are always invigorating. However, this is the second time I've had a terrible experience with their customer service, and it's just not worth going back and forth with their CS when it's apparent they don't know their own system and they lack communication between departments. Thanks for all the great products Samsung, and hopefully you focus more on your customer service in the future to get customers like me back. [link] [comments] | ||

How do you track a weight lifting session on Samsung Health app? Posted: 29 May 2019 01:43 AM PDT Generally when I have the Galaxy Watch Active on me I'd select "Other Workout", but I forgot to pick it up in a rush this morning and have left it behind. I plan to work out for around 3 hours today which will be a mix of exercises but S Health doesn't allow me to select Other Workout like it doee the others, I suppose the watch is necessary for this function? The closest to this I feel is Aerobics, but manually adding Aerobics for 3 hours says I'll burn 1400 which is far too much. What do you guys usually add when doing weight training? Was I lied to, is there a fix? Or should I just exchange them. Just for reference the issue is so bad that when the right bud is in I can't even hear the Left one. [link] [comments] | ||
