Can anyone recommend a good clock and weather widget for the home screen?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 01:37 PM PDT

The standard Clock widget looks great but I would love to have the weather on the same section, something like this.

Please feel free to recommend simplistic time and weather widgets that you're happy with!

    8 month praise for OP6

    Posted: 30 May 2019 12:54 PM PDT

Just a quick post to say how happy my OP6 has made me over the last 7-8 months. Bought it right after 6T came out and they dropped the price of OP6 to $400. I've been in absolute love with this gorgeous, powerhouse of a phone.

The battery lasts easily up to 40 hours, and when it comes to charging, it goes from 10% to 80% in like 20 minutes.

It's super quick, fast. The screen looks lovely. The weight, shape, size, everything looks fantastic. The fingerprint sensor works like a charm every single time.

I had tried MotoG6, Pixel 3, OP6T before I bought this one and I couldn't have been happier. The rightful successor to my OnePlus One which worked like a beast for 4 years and still serves as my backup phone with LineageOS.

There is a secret input field in the Fnatic Mode settings screen, what is the password?

    Screen recording here.

I can't find any information about it on Google/DuckDuckGo, anyone else discovered this?

My list of USB-C power+audio adapters that work with OP7

    Posted: 30 May 2019 03:47 PM PDT

Hi all. If you are like me, you have probably gone to Amazon to look for adapters with your OP7 and got frustrated or confused with what may or may not work. Here are the adapters I use that I can confirm work with the OnePlus 7 Pro. (No referral links and I don't own or work for any of the stores, this is just a post meant to be helpful.)

    USB-C Power and 3.5mm Audio Dongle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q3JKL5S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2 pack of 6.6ft USB-C Cable: (Warp charge works if Warp Charger is used, otherwise it charges at the speed of the charger) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FJNH8P6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Weird Spotify bug in OnePlus 7 Pro

    Posted: 30 May 2019 08:53 AM PDT

Whenever I play a song, after some seconds it lowers the volume as if a notification arrived (even though no notification came) and the volume is kept lowered. I have to pause the song and play again to get the normal volume again.

Edit: This does not happen when phone is in silent mode.

Possible to make included animated wallpapers play continuesly?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 02:22 PM PDT

I like how the included one plus 7 wallpapers play when you unlock the phone, however they only run for a few seconds before becoming static. Is it possible to make them keep playing? Thanks

The video recording duration limits need to go.

    Posted: 30 May 2019 02:45 PM PDT

Even the newest OnePlus 7 Pro can't record more than 5 minutes of 4K 60fps video or 10 minutes of 4K 30fps video.

As far as I can tell, this must be a vestige from much earlier systems. All the excuses I've read are invalid:

Excuse Why It's Not an Excuse
"This is to prevent the phone from overheating" Ok, why don't we have time limits on gaming and everything else then? How come we have the so-called "10-layer liquid cooling" yet the recording limits have not changed since 2013? Clearly this is an arbitrarily set limit that went through no calculation or consideration.
"There is a file system limit imposed by the filesystem format" No, there is not. The data partition is ext4, which supports files of up to 16TB.
"Video is being written to RAM because the internal storage can't keep up" The 1+7's UFS 3.0 internal storage has about 400MB/s write speed. That is orders of magnitude over the bitrate of any of these recording modes. Again, it makes no sense that the hardware has gotten so much better yet the recording limit stays the exact same.
"You can always use a third-party camera app" Third-party apps have no access to 4K 60fps or the zoom lens. Also, the fact that third-party camera apps can record 4K 30fps for more than 10 minutes shows that the limit in the stock camera app is stupid.

OnePlus, if you are hearing this, please raise the video recording limits. iPhones have been able to record these video formats for as long as there is storage space and there is no reason OnePlus can't do it too. Alternatively, please give us a reasonable explanation for why your latest phones can't do this.

    WiFi Sharing

    Posted: 30 May 2019 02:09 PM PDT

My Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 have WiFi Sharing where I can share my WiFi connection as a hotspot instead of my mobile data...

Can I install this feature somehow on my OnePlus 6T? (It seems to only support mobile network tethering...)

    AndroidAuto with the OP7Pro?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 06:54 PM PDT

    Hi OP7Pro owners,

So I'm really considering getting the 7Pro but was wondering if yours works with an AndroidAuto supported car unit via USB cable connection? I have a Honda that supports AA via USB and it's a pretty big deal for me if OP7Pro works with it or not. Read some previous posts here that people were having trouble with AndroidAuto with their OP6/6T so I worry if the 7Pro has issues as well. Any info on this would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Guide to buying a USB-C to 3.5mm jack for 6T and 7 Pro

    Posted: 29 May 2019 08:45 PM PDT

I just recently bought a 7 Pro and stumbled upon the problem of buying the right jack for the phone.

Since the 7 Pro has an internal Audio DAC just like the 6T, the dongle only serves as a passthrough for the analog signal coming from the internal DAC of the phone to the headphones. Upon looking at the gsm arena review of the internal DAC where i quote (the link also contains a frequency response graph for the audiophiles out there):

The OnePlus 7 Pro put in a great performance in our audio quality test.

they specifically mention the fact that they used a passive dongle for their tests:

we used the passive adapter from the OnePlus 6T box. If you get an active adapter, the results won't be representative because they will very much depend on the DAC in the adapter.

Now here comes the trick. Since the iPad Pro, the Pixel lineup and some HTC phones do not have an internal DAC and are popular, when you look at a passive/passthrough dongle when buying one, they will 99% of the time have these phones as blacklisted in the product info as not compatible (Or some other phone that has no internal DAC, simply google)

When you stumble upon one of these dongles, you are guaranteed that it will work with your 6T or 7 Pro (unless its a super crappy dongle that comes broken in the first place).

And as a positive, such dongles come cheaper as they dont have the DAC chip inside of them. Consequently with a passive dongle you are guaranteed tested good sound and dont have to pray that the DAC the active dongle you paid is not worse than the built in one, which might mess up sound.

As for the active dongles out there it seems, its a hit or miss situation, if the phone accepts the dongle DAC or not, and even if it accepts it, compatibility problems could arise (low volume, bad quality, etc). Only tests can prove or disprove their worthiness.

Nevertheless, very expensive active dongles (if they work) could provide better audio in the case their DAC is better than the one oneplus uses.

    I want the OP7P but...

    Posted: 30 May 2019 05:35 PM PDT

I'm scared, guys! For one, I've been an iPhone user all my life. But this phone looks SO GOOD. The reason I haven't pulled the trigger and made the switch is because of the various issues I've seen going on with it. But particularly the "Ghost touch" issues. That's a big no for me. Even if the phone and operating system are as great as they are, I wouldn't want to pay $700+ and have any issues with a device. So my question is: Is it an issue for everyone? Have some devices not been affected by it? What issues have you come across with the device? Any input is welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Bullets wireless 2s too loud?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 07:50 PM PDT

Bought a 7 pro with a pair of Bullets Wireless 2s about a week ago. Phone is amazing and the bullets are good for the most part. Really love the convenience of the earbuds, especially the magnets that control pairing and playback.

My only gripe is that the earbuds are super loud! I have them turned down to literally the second lowest volume step and it's still blaring in my ear. It doesn't help that the highs are quite sibilant compared to other earbuds I've had before. I would turn them down to the lowest volume, but then it's way too quiet. Anybody else have this issue?

Oneplus 6T: Cannot open any pictures or videos

    Posted: 30 May 2019 01:45 PM PDT

I recently needed to clear up some space on my phone and so I moved all of my pictures over from the phone onto my desktop computer. Unfortunately, not a single one of the pictures or videos on my phone can be opened by any program. Has anybody ever seen anything like this before?

If I try to open one of the pictures in Paint.Net it throws the following error. These paths dont exist on my computer.

    90hz vs QHD+ battery drain

    Posted: 30 May 2019 06:47 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Has anyone managed to do any testing in regards to whether it is best to focus on 90hz or QHD to attain a better battery life with the screen on?

With my current usage I can't really have both on simultaneously, the hit on battery is just too hard.

My money would be on 90hz being the bigger drain, however, has anyone done some concrete testing? Thanks

Would you go naked with that gorgeous rear of your Oneplus 7 Pro?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 05:54 PM PDT

I got a Silvery Black. Or whatever Oneplus calls it. I do have a case, but the phone feels too darn premium to be hidden in one. I'd like to hear your opinions on whether it's safe to go naked without a case. Considering it's glass, would it be easy to get scratches on em?

Who else has the "Ambient Display features plus Tap/raise to wake not working unless in brightly lit area" bug?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:33 AM PDT

My 7 pro's ambient display feature is not working unless in a brightly lit area. Same goes for the Tap to wake feature, raise to wake feature and any screen off gestures (i.e draw a V on an off display to turn on the flashlight, etc). I didnt realize how much i used raised to wake until it was broken. Im having this issue on OS 9.5.3. Can anyone confirm that this is fixed on 9.5.4 or above?
