Posted: 01 Mar 2019 04:34 PM PST I made the big mistake of upgrading my Pixel 2 to an iPhone 8+ and let me just say that one cost me a few hundred dollars considering it didn't even last me 3 months. I just had to get rid of it right away. I had heard about One Plus' awful customer service and delayed shipments when they first came about, figured they'd be in a much better position now so I read a bunch of reviews here. Only concern was the camera but I have my iPhone 8 (work phone, bleh) for that so not too worried about the camera. The batter life is absolutely unreal on this, I'm sitting at about 4.5 hrs of screen time with 53% battery remaining. None of my previous phones (Nexus, Pixel and 3 month iPhone) could even come close to that! Only thing I don't like is the fingerprint, I have my thumb registered 5 times and it still fails to recognize it like maybe 25% of the time (and yes I did register it in the dark and I used the McLaren method). Anyways, I'm not typically one to root my phone (I am open to it though). Any tips or advice on what I should customize on my phone? So far I've only added the battery percentage lol. Posted: 01 Mar 2019 01:55 PM PST So I just got a OnePlus 6T, my first non iPhone. I've seen lots of people say that the camera is alright but with the Google camera it becomes amazing. I tried downloading it from the play store but it says that my device isn't compatible with it. What do I do? [link] [comments]
Resolved battery drain after Pie update Posted: 01 Mar 2019 05:02 PM PST Adaptive battery drains your battery just like any other 3rd party battery app so i would recommend you to use it only a day or two to find out if its one of your apps that is causing the battery drain. Using it on a daily basis, does you no good. Sleep standby optimization was turned off after pie update and only now did i notice it and toggled it back on. No more standby battery drain. with these 2 settings i got my standby time back to 10 days compared to previous 4 days. To be noted that i mainly use my 5T as a phone, not as a toy to play games, watch videos or constantly check my social media so your results may vary Settings/Battery/Adaptive Battery: OFF Settings/Battery/Battery Optimization/Advanced optimization (tap on the three dots on the top right corner)/Sleep standby optimization: ON [link] [comments]
Sort of had a "mind blown" moment after getting a new Battery for my Nexus One Posted: 01 Mar 2019 11:59 AM PST The Nexus One was my first Android smartphone. It's been many phones and years since then, but I've always had it stored away. I purchased a new battery for it off Amazon. The first thing I noticed, aside stupid stuff from years back, was that the haptic feedback is actually more satisfying than that on my OP6. Yeah, you get what you pay for, but this really hit home for me how bad the haptic is on One Plus devices. I used all the Google phone alterations all the way up to the OP1. Seems that I forgot, or didn't even realize, how bad the haptic is on One Plus devices. I don't know the mechanics or cost behind a haptic system. Though, I do know this phone from 2011 has a better feeling one than my phone from 2018. It's minor in the grand scheme of things, but I'm really hoping for something much better on the OP7. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Recommendations for tempered glass screen protectors for OP6 - WITHOUT THE BLACK RIM Posted: 01 Mar 2019 03:30 PM PST Had anyone had any experience with the official One Plus tempered glass screen protectors? I've only had the aftermarket bones with the black rim and while I feel like they fit very well, the black part cuts off a portion of the screen. After looking at the other options on Amazon, it seems like all the reviews say they don't fit very well. Is the true OP screen protector that much better than the ones available from 3rd party retailers? [link] [comments]
My One Plus repair experience for a OP6 without a warranty. Shockingly Great. Posted: 01 Mar 2019 06:45 AM PST My OP6 needed a new screen and sent a request on the OP support site on Tuesday for service. When I got home there were two emails from them and one contained a link to print off a free overnight priority shipping sticker for the package (80$ if i had to pay for it.) I took it to FedEx 30 minutes later to be shipped to Acer's repair location in Texas, halfway across the country. Wednesday someone from Acer called me to confirm the damage and requested payment which was 145$. Thursday I received an Email stating the phone was shipped back to me, again, halfway across the US. Now it is Friday morning and I am holding my repaired phone! A 160$ worth of shipping I thought I would have had to covered for me and all done in 2 business days. My only issue is I did not receive a tracking number for the return until an hour before the phone showed up. I just wanted to share my experience because I have read some concern and other not so great experiences. Some were about a location in Washington state. I believe getting Acer to repair it was what made this so fast and happy they were who I shipped to. My only other option was buying the part on my own for 95$ plus shipping, waiting a few weeks for it to arrive and then hope a local place could replace it or do it myself. [link] [comments]
I want to buy the OP 6t but... Posted: 01 Mar 2019 02:10 PM PST At the moment, I have a Samsung Galaxy s8 and I've had it since it came out (so about 2 years) it's a great phone in all, but about 3 months ago, all of my charging cables stopped working as well. I tried buying new ones, but they didn't really work well either, I've attributed the problem to my USB C port dying. The only thing that has been my saving grace is wireless charging. Without it, I'd probably have to spend money on a repair or even buy a new phone. I really want a OnePlus phone because I've heard great things, but I feel like the lack of wireless charging will really hurt the lifespan of the phone plus I don't want to waste the wireless chargers I currently have. Posted: 01 Mar 2019 07:54 PM PST I'm another long-term Nexus/Pixel user who switched to OnePlus. In fact, it arrived today and I am using it to write this! So far I'm really pleased. My last two Google phones lasted about 14 months between them. I bought them both new from resellers on eBay, and one died from bootlooping after nine months. The other one just died after 5 and a half months. Now, I know that some assholes will probably say that it's my fault for buying them from a company on eBay. But I never expected a full warranty from Google for those phones. It's just that I couldn't afford Google's increasing prices. So I had to buy discontinued models instead. Thing is, Google used to make a quality phone. You could expect them to last for at least a couple of years. But with two phones in a row that lasted well short of a year, I have absolutely no reason to give Google another dollar ever again. I don't trust them. But anyway, I'm trying to figure out my options. I see that I can install Google Assistant, but I'm not sure that I want to. Does OnePlus come with an alternative? I want to make the best use of this cool new phone that I can. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! [link] [comments]
Would 3 dead pixels be covered under the 1 Year Warranty? Posted: 01 Mar 2019 06:42 PM PST I have three dead pixels that I noticed pretty early on when I bought my OnePlus 6. I've had this phone for about 9 months now. Would they still honor the warranty even if my phone had a scratch or two on the screen? Or would they use that to say the dead pixels were from the "abuse" or something like that? "c. The limited warranty only covers product defects caused by workmanship or build materials..." Google Assistant "Access with Voice Match" stopped working Posted: 28 Feb 2019 10:49 PM PST Google assistant mysteriously stopped responding to "hey google" this morning on my 5T. Ive found that the Access with voice match is turned off and as soon as i switch it on it turns itself back off. Wondering if anyone else had this problem/found a fix. [link] [comments]
d brand prism installation and impressions Posted: 01 Mar 2019 04:39 PM PST I got a few screen protectors before this. I have had a few tempered glass and a best buy screen protector installed by geeks squad for the same price as a prism. Installation: 10/10. By far the best installation experience very easy to not mess up just take your time pause the installation video when you need to and listen to the nice robot. they make it clear that if you have any dust under your screen it's your fault. Price: 7/10. could be cheaper but with all the R and d and advertising they are doing I can see why it costs so much but each unit probably costs less than a dollar to make packaging and everything. but its high quality no doubt. feel: Feels great! it feels like touching glass. a few things though that I'm disappointed by that literally no one except for one plus gets right is the fact that it's not wide enough. due to the fact the the edges of the lcd are curved you will notice the the screen protector is not covering a tiny bit of the screen. Even the geeks squad installed stuff has this issue. No one can seem to get it right. But other than that this is by far the best screen protector to DIY. you can have peace of mind that glass has and the ability to not shatter on impact like plastic. edit: I forgot to mention there is no notch cutout or a mic cutout so lining things up perfectly makes that even more challenging. [help] Missing notifications from YouTube Vanced on OP6T Posted: 01 Mar 2019 03:54 PM PST Adaptive battery is off, optimization as well. I got the phone yesterday. Any tips? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Mar 2019 12:41 AM PST Why is it so hard to get consistent color accuracy with the app? I prefer the pill over gesture because the accuracy (sometimes I don't swipe from far enough down and want to go home first try every time) but it's so fucking ugly in Spotify or when using Gboard. Posted: 01 Mar 2019 03:23 PM PST For some reason out of nowhere my phone became barely useable. I tried updating all my apps and restart in the phone and clearing cache but not much luck. [link] [comments]
How possible is to have screen burn in due to the finger scanner on the 6T? Posted: 01 Mar 2019 02:15 PM PST I ask because I've already seen 2 reviewers (mrwhostheboss and timscofield) saying that the 6T might (or will) have screen burn in due to the intensity of the fingerprint scanner lights. Anyone seen any case of this kind of burn in or they are just guessing? Thanks! [link] [comments]
How to disable sound alerts on Bluetooth (6T) Posted: 01 Mar 2019 01:05 PM PST Whenever I connect to a Bluetooth device, my phone plays message alerts (text, email, FB messenger) through the Bluetooth device even though my phone slider is set to vibrate. How can I disable this? [link] [comments]
OnePlus 6T slow to wake up when power button pressed Posted: 01 Mar 2019 01:04 AM PST In the last couple of days, I've encountered a strange phenomenon, where when I press the power button to wake the phone, it sometimes takes several seconds for the screen to come on. Same thing also happens sometimes when I use the tap to wake function. Anyone else experiencing this? [link] [comments]

6T, Fingerprint Sensor, and the Screen Protector Posted: 01 Mar 2019 06:16 AM PST My OnePlus 6T came installed with a screen protector along with a note that screen protectors are necessary to ensure fingerprint sensor reliability. Is this true? Is the screen protector necessary? Has anyone tried comparing reliability of protector vs non-protector? I ask because I generally do not like cases or screen protectors (it cheapens the phone, and does significantly prevent damage). I'm worried, however, that if I remove the protector, I won't be able to install another as well as OnePlus did at the factory. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Mar 2019 01:36 AM PST Does anyone else's alertslider feel very wonky? I didn't use mine much (like twice a week when switching it to silent at an appointment) and now it feels very lose, wonky and makes clicking noises even when touching it very slightly. No impacts/drops on the phone. [link] [comments]
