App that integrates Spotify and local music player?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 05:58 AM PST

I don't know if this is possible, but is there an app that I can connect to Spotify but also lets me play local music file? I have a Spotify Premium account, but I also have many local music stored on my device for songs that are not available on Spotify. Having a good queuing system (where I can select an album to play after the current album in queue instead of just the current song) is a plus, but not necessary. Thank you!

Apps which are kind to your battery

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 03:50 AM PST

I'm an Android app developer and I decided to check out my competition. I noticed that one app in particular is exceptionally bad on its users phone batteries and did some tests and further investigation which showed me why. As it turns out, the app wasn't bad in switching off the GPS, I read their privacy policy and they have enabled a service which basically tracks the app's users (it's called GeoUniq). It took some exceptional digging to figure out that this app is really bad for your battery.

What good tools are available for standard Android users to figure out which apps are the worst? To determine my results, I had to install GSAM Battery Monitor and run an ADB command (or have a rooted phone) and then actually test to see what is killing my device. Of course, standard users will not be doing this. I compared the results with the built in battery monitor and the results are not really that useful.

How would a standard Android user know which apps are good and which apps are bad for your phone battery (and personal data)?

App recommendations for recipe storing and search

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 12:16 AM PST

I'm looking for an app that lets me manually type in and/or automatically import recipes. Ideally this app would also have a search function where i could type in an ingredient and the app show me all my saved recipes that have that ingredient. Bonus points if it's smart enough to type in 2 or 3 ingredients and it show just ones that have all of the typed in ingredients.

Bonus: I'd also love if the app lets you add/save calorie/nutrition info of the recipe to the recipe's profile. For example, i see a lot of recipes on the MyFitnessPal blog that list ingredients, directions and the calorie/nutrient information for the dish and i basically want an app that will act as a rolodex of recipes with those 3 main sections of info for each recipe.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Why Android is easy to monitor

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 09:00 AM PST

I gave one of my employees ( The truck Driver ) a Sumsung J5 , but i want to know his location and if the truck is being used for personal usage , so my option was to add a mobile monitoring app ( spybunker ) this is a hidden app that can monitor Gps,whatsapp, calls ext... totally hidden from the device owner , but in my case am the device owner and the employee is only using the device i gave it to him so nothing bad in this .

But my question now , what guarantee to me that the guy who sold me MY PERSONAL DEVICE , or even the device that my wife gave to me as a present is not monitored by any kind of app !

I know iOS is a bit more complicated , since i tried to install spybunker on iphone but it was almost impossible since it asked for the icloud user , the device must be jailbroken ext.. so it is almost impossible , but with android installing the app just took me less than 10mins ...

Do android developer keep android open like this so anyone can mess with it , same as microsoft did before ! as we all know windows was really easy to hack or monitor or even clone and sell not original copies while Macintosh is almost impossible to make a copy of it or even install third parties apps .

so microsfot ended up in every house since it is an open source and easy to manage or get cheap copies , is Android doing the same now ??

is there a way to make my android more secure ?

Update ( note ) : am not advertising the app , you can go google and type monitor apps for android and hundreds will appear , i just added spybunker since am using them . so spare unuseful comments !

    Looking for password manager recommendation

    Posted: 02 Mar 2019 09:17 PM PST

Can someone please recommend a password manager that can learn passwords when I log into websites, rather than making me enter each password into the app?

    I don't care if it's free. Though I want a free trial.

    Thank you.
