Is there any way to disable flaw detection for Snapchat on Android Pie? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:42 PM PST Pretty much I take a lot of photos on snapchat that are purposely blurry, but with the new flaw detection feature it won't take the photo until it's in focus. Is there any way to disable this? [link] [comments] |
Createtarfork error 255 despite me already deleting user 999 on OP5T? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:36 PM PST I ran into this problem a while ago and I thought I solved but I guess not. I downloaded a terminal emulator and deleted user 999 (pm remove-user 999). Today I try to backup on twrp and the error comes back. I tried to delete user 999 with the above method but the terminal says that the user doesn't exist. I can't properly backup now and that's a problem. I don't use parallel apps. EDIT: I think I may have solved the problem myself. I went to parallel apps in the settings, turned on my Whatsapp to be parallel and then immediately turned it off. I then went to the terminal and typed and it said user removed. Twrp backed up as normal and the problem looks to be solved. [link] [comments] |

What is the best way to back-up app data on unrooted Android Pie phone? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:27 PM PST Hello, I read the FAQ but I couldn't find anything that works on the latest version of Android without root. Is there a good way to back up app data on android? Thank you for any replies :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:32 PM PST I purchased an LG V30 off of ebay and I am trying to update it to 8.0 but the LG Software does not have my model listed in its database. I also tried putting in my IMEI but it says that my phone is not connected, even though it is. Should I bother trying this or just root it? [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to display my google shopping list as a widget? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 07:36 PM PST I won a google home hub and its pretty neat, I like saying out loud what I need to buy while digging through cupboards. But accessing the actual list from my phone is a surprisingly obnoxious task. before I merely had a notes widget, but now I have to open google home, open the microphone, ask it out loud what's on my list, and tap the list. Or open google express shopping, tap the options, and tap my list. Can I put either of these options in a widget? [link] [comments] |

Security Patch Level March 2019 in February? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 08:18 AM PST Hello everyone, today my phone (BQ Aquaris X2) got an update with Security Patch Level : 1 March 2019. Now I am curious as it is still February and there is no bulletin at source.android.com. Is it possible that BQ is just faking the patch level or do they get the patches before public due to android one? I just cannot imagine a patch before it is published at the official repo? I also got the February patch in January and according to android security bulletins the patch was published on February 4, 2019. Thanks for your time and help. Regards [link] [comments] |
How to hide Nav bar with Android Pie Posted: 26 Feb 2019 01:18 PM PST With the new update it seems samsung have removed the button at the far left of the navigation bar that allows you to hide the bar completely and allows you to swipe up at the bottom of the screen to bring the bar up. Was wondering if there is a way to do this in the settings or am i stuck with this ugly navigation bar? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2019 06:16 PM PST Kid gets tab A for his birthday.... time passes, dad finds said tablet laying around dead as shit. Dad says "hey, I hear Golfclash is cool on a tablet".... juice it up... "enter password". "Hey Kid! What's the password for this thing?". "Dunno." Reset. Now I'm in some twilight zone, gmail login, loop. Apparently we don't know the email used when setting up the thing. Mine don't work at least. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2019 08:49 AM PST Everytime I'm listening to something and using my phone and I slightly tap the headphone jack I get a crazy loud "ERRRRRRR UHHHHHHHHH CHRRRRRRR" sound and my music stops and it's super annoying. I wouldn't mind USB C headphones that much if they actually just worked comparably to "old" style headphone jacks. I know everyone seems to hate them too but is this why?? I thought it was just the fact they you don't get a seperate dedicated port. I wouldn't mind that but it just straight up sucks. I'll be sitting in bed sometimes and and be listening to something, have the port fuck up, go to push I back and and think it's actually in and press play again then my music will come out of my phone speakers and wake up my girlfriend. This shit is ridiculous. I just feel like maybe I'm missing something and there has to be better more positive locking jacks or something. I get that Bluetooth headphones are a thing but when I'm just casually listening and don't really have to worry about tangle, I'd rather just use wired headphones. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2019 03:23 PM PST Hey folks I used to be able to transfer files from my android via this USB C cord Now it only seems to work to fast charge the phone. The phone isn't recognized by the PC when plugged in for file transfer. When I use an alternate cable, everything works right away... Why? [link] [comments] |
Do any carriers still provide service for CDMA Moto G? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 09:13 PM PST I have a 1st gen Moto G XT1031 unlocked on stock boost rom. Can I flash another carrier's settings and switch carriers? I haven't actually used boost in years and the phone has been a paperweight. It doesn't have a sim slot is why I'm confused and understanding the differences between cdma and gsm don't really factor into if an ancient phone can be activated today? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:26 PM PST My 13yo has a Tab A that we had taken away from him. Somehow he found it and has been using it. He claims he doesn't remember what the password was and has been using the guest profile. But there are multiple app notifications up on his profile. Is there any way to get into the files? I thought I set it up with my google account but its not prompting for a password reset. I l kw i can do a reset but I want to see what is on there first, so even just access to the files would work. HotSpot issue after network preference reset. Posted: 26 Feb 2019 09:11 PM PST Sorry if I'm in the wrong area. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to figure out what I did wrong to cause all this. It might seem pathetic, but right now where I am is too expensive for internet, and I'm leaning on this hotspot heavy. Some info S9plus-G965U running latest One UI Boost mobile is my provider. Some context; activated my phone about a week ago. I bought it from someone for an amazing deal, it was unlocked for any carrier and initially was on Verizon. The guy set it up and I was good to go. I noticed for whatever reason, my hotspot was never limited on this device. I went well over 8gb and never noticed throttling or the issue I've noticed in phones sold through boost, where certain features are greyed out and disabled, or when you try to activate the hotspot after the fact, you instantly are redirected to the boost mobile website. An example of this is my ability to freely edit my APN settings and my network operator options. Fast forward to yesterday. I was starting to get a little lag during my games of apex legends, and wanted to see if my phone was just getting a bad data connection. I [stupidly] followed a YouTube tutorial to reset network preferences. I was skeptical but it wasnt a poorly reviewed video and had many views, plus the guy said after a few minutes data would be restored. I did this, the data never came back, only texting and calls worked. Boost mobile would not provide me APN settings to manually enter, so I entered the dialer code, ##72769# [sorry if that's wrong I know it's similar to that if not that number] to restore to factory defaults. My phone reboots and it connects me back to the network. This is where the trouble began. After this, I was unable to add or edit my APN, and trying to select a different APN would never work. It kept resetting to the default. I was trying to add dun to the protocols as another video informed me this helped improve speeds. Everything became greyed out, as if this device was now infected with boost software. Nothing I've done works, and even after figuring out how to add a APN, it resets to the previously selected. I am too stupid when it comes to phones to understand why it worked before, and it doesn't now. Even tethering isn't fully functional...I can access some websites, others are stuck on authenticating, or that's what chrome says in the bottom left corner. What can I do? Even after the latest one update my hotspot didnt become affected...but despite knowing the 8gb cap, I still find it intrusive that my device has the same limitations now that it would if I had bought it directly from the carrier itself. Is there a way to roll back these changes? Would a hard reset do the trick? I dont even care about circumventing the hotspot issue anymore, I want whatever they changed gone from my device. Are you still able to get non carrier firmware for devices? Neutral firmware for lack of better phrasing. Just blows my mind how everything was okay, and I couldn't leave good enough alone, so now everything is sabotaged... Also would appreciate advice on avoiding this in the future. It was disappointing that using pdanet hiding tether usage still wasnt enough to have wifi sharing succeed in connecting my xbox one online...what am I not doing right? Please educate me 😠[link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:16 PM PST Using application inspector, i have seen many system apps with "overlay" in the name, and I have seen users disabling such apps and reporting boosts in performance. What is the 'advanced settings' rule for Do not Disturb and how do I turn it off? Posted: 26 Feb 2019 09:01 PM PST Here is what I'm talking about: https://i.imgur.com/iiPOdXl.jpg I don't know where this DnD rule is coming from, and I can't figure out where to turn it off. My other rules, weekend, weeknight, and event, work just fine as expected, and I know where those are, but this one stumps me. I originally thought it had something to do with Wear OS, but even when I don't have Wear OS silence anything, I still get this rule enabling DnD when I don't want it to! [link] [comments] |
Photo Recovery on a Galaxy S9+ Posted: 26 Feb 2019 02:54 PM PST My father's phone crashed during a system update, and he ended up in safe mode, and couldn't exit without doing a factory reset (or so I've been told). So he reset his phone, and lost all his photos of his grand daughter. I'm trying to recover what I can for him. I've tried Recuva (doesn't work because MTP instead of "Mass Storage), I've tried a few apps from Google Play, and I've tried dr.fone. Nothing seems to work, and the apps all say the phone needs to be rooted, but googling suggests this phone can't be rooted. I've already set his phone to sync to Google Photos for the future, but he had no cloud storage set up before, is there any way to run a recovery on the system disk? [link] [comments] |

Need help trying to figure out why chrome is opening Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:23 PM PST To be honest I'm not sure if it's an app or a file but whatever it is it's irritating. So what happens is that while using my phone something triggers chrome to open and bring itself to the foreground, to a new tab of a random webpage I've never looked up or been to. The sites are usually the same but switch around between something like appspace or appsquare and novelcamp. What I want to know Is if there is a way to narrow down what is causing chrome to be opened and locate the file or app responsible? [link] [comments] |
Not recieving Google Opinion Rewards Posted: 26 Feb 2019 12:07 PM PST Some time ago I stopped receiving the researches, I think that have been already 8/9 months ago I do not receive any, I also did not change any configuration in my galaxy S8. Also all the apps of the cell came to show the symbol of "refresh" when they are loading something. I have prints to illustrate the symbol that appears to appear in bank applications... Redmi 4x can't connect to carrier network, can't enter fastboot Posted: 26 Feb 2019 03:33 PM PST Hey, Last night my redmi 4x stopped being able to connect to carrier network. I've tried another SIM cards, 4G/3G/2G and all points to the phone being at fault. The phone hasn't suffered any physical damage close to this "event", it stopped working at once without any sign or trigger. Wifi works fine. I've tried rebooting and reseting the phone in the settings, however I'm not able to enter bootloader/fastboot, I only get the fastboot logo for x minutes. I tried adb, but "fastboot devices" doesn't list any devices. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
