IconX with iPhone - highs distorted

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 06:45 AM PDT

    Hi guys.

I'm an iPhone user but won Icon X in a game at work. I really like them, and while playing from the internal storage everything sounds great. However, playing from my iPhone the "highs" are somewhat distorted and too loud. The difference is quite noticable. My Airpods went to the washing machine yesterday some I'm trying to used the IconX's. I've tried looking into the EQ settings of the iPhone and Spotify and everything but no luck.

Anyone had this problem or has any suggestions? Thanks.

Phone stuck on Samsung logo suddenly, cannot fix

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 06:34 AM PDT

My Galaxy S7 G930F (originally O2 but since unlocked) died last night so when I've tried charging it today it gets to the Samsung logo and just glows repeatedly. It has stayed on this screen for about an hour and just gets extremely hot, I've since drained the battery to prevent any damage.

I'd also like to add that this phone is not rooted nor has it ever been rooted.

I cannot get into safe mode nor the android recovery mode. I can only get into the download custom OS screen. Any suggestions?

    Samsung C27HG70 terrible overshoot

    Posted: 01 Nov 2018 03:35 AM PDT

Hi r/samsung, I hope Samsung is reading this subreddit, because it's been 3 weeks I have the C27HG70 monitor and under 120 Hz there is terrible overshoot due to the excessive overdrive. It's pretty visible using Freesync and it is unusable. I've tried to decompile the firmware but without any success, I study electronics and informatic in an engineering school so knowing the microcontroller or the FPGA used as a scaler in the monitor could help me a lot, because if Samsung doesn't release a firmware where the overdrive can be disabled entierly, I don't see any other option than doing it myself. If someone found a way to fix that I take it with pleasure !

And if not, please Samsung read this subreddit and let us disable the overdrive.

PS : the C24FG70 has this issue too

Cellular data not working after disconnecting from wifi network

    Posted: 31 Oct 2018 10:27 PM PDT

So I have experienced this annoying bug on my Note9 where my cellular data connection does not work after disconnecting from a wifi network.

It happens at random at not at all times. The only way to fix it is to toggle airplane mode on and off or restart the phone.

After doing some research I read that this problem is also present on some other Android phones which leads me to think this is a bug in Android OS that has been persistent for a while. I have read about cases going back to Marshmallow / Nougat.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It is very frustrating and irritating. Is there a workaround?

Edit 1: When cellular data does not work, it still shows connected and the 4G icon still shows. But it can't load any webpages or apps.

Edit 2: I reinstalled my carrier settings for cellular data and MMS and I also toggled Aggresive Wifi/Cell Handover in Developer Options. I will see if that does the trick.

After last system update, S7 battery drops 1% every 3 minutes.

    Posted: 31 Oct 2018 03:54 PM PDT

After the last system update my phone drains the battery so fast I cannot take it anywhere without an external charger. Has anyone else experienced this?

    I have reset the memory (power/up vol/home)

I have also ensured all of my apps are updated.

In safe mode, it still drops but not as fast.

Does anyone know why an oil painting like affect happens when taking pictures on the S9? This is my first time owning a Samsung after switching from the 7plus; which took a great picture.

IconX good reviews from critics, bad from users?

    Posted: 31 Oct 2018 08:44 PM PDT

I'm thinking about getting the gear IconX. I know I'm pretty late but I can get it for around 130$ now. The critics have high ratings for it and rtings claims it's currently the best (which i trust). I got a S9+ so I think it would go well with it. I'm concerned about the bad user reviews complaining about alot of problems with it. Do you have any problem happening to you that doesn't have a solution/workaround. How much do you recommend it to me and how well did it work for you? (I rarely run with it, mainly walking and sometimes jogging). What problems should I expect and do you think it can last more than 2 Years?

Help: Samsung J7 and blue light filter apps

    Posted: 31 Oct 2018 08:11 PM PDT

A new update just came out for my J7, and there was no fix to compatibility with blue light filter apps. I didnt really expect it, but this post is spurred on by the fact that I am so sick and tired of what happened after the update prior to this last one- blue light filter apps stopped completely working for me.

Is there any solution to this? Or am I just stuck suffering every time I want to change my volume or pull down the bar at the top of my screen?

I'm specifically talking about how the bar at the top of my screen and the pull down screen arent affected by my blue light filter app anymore.

    Thanks for any help.

[Help] Using a Wifi-only media Galaxy S9, how do I remove the "No Sim - Emergency Calls Only" from the notifications bar and lock screen bar?

    Posted: 31 Oct 2018 06:56 PM PDT

I bought an unlocked S9 as a much needed upgrade to my S3 app phone. I have no current plan to put this phone on a plan, and thus have no need for a "No Sim" notification. How do I remove the notification? Even if it involves some developer tools stuff. I just want it gone!

Also, my sim tray doesn't open. So even if I wanted to put a sim card in, like an old one, it won't budge. Gonna contact Samsung Support for that one though, but if anyone has solutions for that as well, would be appreciated. As far as I am aware, it is supposed to pop open with slight pressure to the pin, but it doesn't wanna do that.
