Cheetah Mobile is accused of committing Ad Fraud in several apps - xda-developers.com Posted: 26 Nov 2018 11:43 PM PST https://www.xda-developers.com/cheetah-mobile-ad-fraud-android-apps/ tl;dr: Just as you've always suspected, Cheetah Mobile's main interest is in selling your data. But they've now been shown to go above and beyond in abusing the permissions granted to their apps. The ad fraud scheme abuses user trust and steals revenue from not only Google but also developers that should be receiving the referral bonus in the first place. [link] [comments] |
[DEV] 2Do just added CalDAV Sync support Posted: 27 Nov 2018 04:38 AM PST CalDAV is everywhere. Most Calendaring servers (iCloud Reminders, Fruux, Oracle, Yahoo, Fastmail, OwnCloud, NextCloud, Synology and so on) have support for "ToDo Calendars" that can be dedicated to managing your Tasks and Reminders. 2Do just added CalDAV Sync support. If you haven't come across 2Do yet, or haven't considered giving it a try, I can assure you that it'll surpass all of your expectations for a seemingly simple to use Task Manager. It's an award winning app (the real kind) on iOS and macOS, and perhaps one of a handful that don't charge a subscription fee (or display adverts). Here's more information on this: https://www.2doapp.com/2do-on-android-learns-a-new-trick-with-caldav/ [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 07:45 AM PST Hello fellow droiders I've just released my first android game : TapNext https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asociallions.tapnext Game is simple : you Tap a sequence (the alphabet, numbers up to 10...) in the correct order as fast as possible. There are multiple difficulties, and multiple categories. Some categories are easy (numbers up to 10), some are stupidly hard (the whole periodic table, or all the U.S presidents in chronological order). The more you farm the levels, the more coins you get to unlock new categories. No in-apps. No ads. There will be ads the day I'm starving and need to buy a pizza. Oh and turn the sound on, you can try to play some music while tapping. I want to see how fast you guys can tap the alphabet (I have personnaly not been able to go under 12 seconds). <3 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 12:16 PM PST I have a customer list that I would like to import into an app where I setup frequencies of how often to visit the customer and track when I do. I know there are endless CRM programs but they are all more complex than what I need. For example, I setup ABC Company with a call frequency on every 30 days and XYZ setup every 7 days. I get notified when it's been over the set days and it tracks each visit. Any help? There are tap log app that are close! [link] [comments] |
[DEV] Just released my first game: Glitch Run - Addictive Platformer Posted: 27 Nov 2018 08:28 AM PST Fast-paced and addictive arcade platformer. Dive in for intense time killing gameplay with simple, yet addictive mechanic! Get the square through an obstacle course to win. But consider that every level is procedurally generated, so you won't ever get the same one twice! [link] [comments] |

What's the best BusyBox solution for 2018? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 11:23 AM PST I haven't really messed with BusyBox installs on rooted Android since 2014, so I'm not sure what the best practices are for 2018. Back then, I used BusyBox Pro and installed BusyBox to /system/xbin and called it a day. But now for 2018, with a new phone, I notice some new options. For example: BusyBox Pro now defaults the installation path to /sbin instead of /system/xbin. Should I be installing to /sbin now? Doesn't /sbin reset on each reboot? Should I be using Smart Install instead of regular install? And finally, is BusyBox Pro still the best option or should I be using the Magisk BusyBox module instead? Are there any benefits to one vs the other? Would greatly appreciate any help. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:51 AM PST Hey guys, I'm wondering if there are any safe, and preferably open source gallery apps out there? I currently have simple gallery, but am looking to switch to something else because of performance issues. I'm not sure why, but swiping through pictures or zooming produces an extreme amount of lag and it's barely usable. I have confirmed this issue is absent in other gallery apps. Thanks in advance! [DEV] Game to improve your motor skills and solve awesome challenges Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:41 AM PST Equilibrall was launched this week. It's a game you can play matches within 10 ~ 30 seconds with only one hand. You can play it anywhere between any interval you have. Every week a new theme is released with 8 new levels. Every theme has its unique challenges. Check it out now and give your opinion (really, I need to know what you guys think about it)! I will be glad to hear anything you have to say and try to implement it as fast as possible. https://souluizfernando.com/blog/equilibrall/ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.souluizfernando.Equilibrall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDV-g5btxxM [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Nov 2018 10:07 AM PST Does anyone use this on their phones? I have two-- Galaxy S9 Plus and XZ1 Compact. While the former has the newer processor Snapdragon 845, the XZ1C with a Snapdragon 835 is much slower at calculating problems. After monitoring their CPU usage, I realized the XZ1C was using the power efficient cores to process for Dreamlab(cores 1-4 @1.9gHz), while the S9P was using it's high performance cores(cores 5-8 at 2.8gHz). Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, particularly with SD835? Was looking through reviews on the Google play store and one mentioned that their Galaxy S8(SD835)was also calculating relatively slow. Edit: CPU usage also maxes at 50% for the XZ1C when only using Dreamlab, while the S9P is at 100%. [link] [comments] |

Texting app with local encryption and web app? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 09:18 AM PST A while back I started using Signal as a texting app replacement, since even when the other person wasn't using Signal, it seems like it would at least encrypt the texts locally, so they couldn't be opened except through Signal. Unfortunately however, even though Signal does have a desktop app for texting, iirc that only worked for messaging other Signal users - but not regular text messages. And since the local text message record was encrypted, other apps like Pushbullet couldn't access them either. Is there any other app that does somehow manage to strike a balance between the security of encryption and the convenience of messaging from another device? Or is that just impossible to do without totally compromising the security? Also, since I like to back everything up, it would be great if this hypothetical secure app could also save encrypted backups to the cloud, or something like that. Is there anything like that out there? [link] [comments] |

Need an app that will allow only certain phone numbers bypass Silent mode. Posted: 27 Nov 2018 08:17 AM PST Hello. I'm looking for app described in title for Galaxy S9. I understand there is a built-in DnD bypass mode, but you have to choose between All, Contacts, or Favorite Contacts -- however I am looking for one that will unsilent the phone per only specific numbers regardless to whether they are in Favorite Contacts or not (i.e. my father-in-law and wife in Favorite, but only want my wife's to bypass silent mode).
Bonus if there's such an app that will force phone to bypass silent under certain condition. i.e. if my wife calls me most of the time, it will be silent, but if she does certain thing specific (like text first) then the next call will be unsilent. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Alarm Clock App to replace AdyClock? Posted: 27 Nov 2018 07:44 AM PST I've been using AdyClock for years across multiple Android devices, but lately, it's gone completely unreliable on me. I suppose that the stock clock app from LG could fill that gap, but I'll miss some of AdyClock's features. [link] [comments] |
Unique launcher concepts like AIO launcher Posted: 27 Nov 2018 01:35 AM PST Hello, I'm looking for unique launchers like the AIO launcher. I love the idea of this no-icon launcher, but don't like the fact that the home is not really customizable... any ideas? All txt-only / self learning / crazy launchers are welcome! :) [link] [comments] |
