Delayed Gmail notifications, no way to turn off battery optimization. Any work around? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 08:15 AM PDT Does anyone else have an issue with Gmail notifications being delayed using the stock Gmail app? I just got my OPO 6 two weeks ago and have been having persistent issues with Gmail push notifications being delayed until I unlock the phone. I am using Android Pi with the latest OOS update. I see no way to turn off the battery optimization to fix this issue. Why would OnePlus not allow this, is there any way around it? I've switched to Edison Email in the meantime which always sends notifications instantly after turning off Optimization but I would love to be able to use the Gmail app and not have my notifications delayed. Posted: 03 Oct 2018 01:04 PM PDT Before upgrading to Android Pie, I used to constantly get 4G+ or LTE where I was. When I upgraded, I started constantly getting H+ and sometimes my connection would even drop off. I posted a thread asking for help. Luckily, /u/androidaide pointed me in the right direction. I'll explain what I did to fix my issue. Settings>Wi-Fi & internet>SIM & network>SIM 1 (Carrier Name)>Access Point Names In my case, I had the following selected: Carrier Name Tethering. I changed it to: Carrier Name LTE. Then I restarted my phone. I'm getting 4G+ again instead of H+. I hope this helped. [link] [comments]

The time on the left of my status bar is occasionally one hour behind. Bizzare bug or bad settings? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 04:20 PM PDT Multiple times today, the clock in my status bar has been exactly 1 hour behind. I rebooted every time it happened. When When I restart it, the time is displayed correctly on the lock screen. I don't live near the edge of a timezone. What could be causing this? [link] [comments]
Things "feel" slower after Android P Posted: 03 Oct 2018 10:03 AM PDT Maybe its just me, but a lot of things feel slower after this update. I held back on upgrading to Andoird P for a few days after it came and when I did decide to upgrade, things just felt slower. One key thing I noticed which was much slower was the double power button press to open camera, feels like a lifetime in comparison to how it was on Oreo. Fingerprint sensor feels a bit slower too, as well as how fast the screen locks when the power button is pressed, but maybe that is due to the new lock animation. Is it just me or are any of you guys experiencing these issues too? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2018 06:56 AM PDT Yesterday I noticed that my phone battery was being drained 3 times as fast as usual, I had noticed too late when my battery reached 30%~, turning on battery saver was a temporary fix . After recharging my phone at home I noticed that the bug was still present, however a quick reboot fixed the issue. [link] [comments]
Do I need to root to flash a custom ROM? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 03:27 PM PDT Do I need to root my OnePlus 6 to use a custom ROM or do I just need to use the 'install local update' option? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2018 07:05 PM PDT I'm on a OP6 here, on the latest android P. I've come from an iphone, and I really miss how the whole screen wakes up when I get a notification. I have an eye disease where I see streaks of light really easily, and I'm constantly white glare across the screen of my phone which makes it look like there's a notification. I'd like to turn ambient display off, and instead have the whole screen wake up when there's a notification. Is that possible? Or am I stuck with things the way they are? Are there any apps that can do this for me? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2018 12:58 PM PDT Hi, So when I am using my earbuds and I put the volume really low. (Normally do this when reading my book). A strange cracking sound turns op, sometimes completely disrupting the music. It is really annoying I have a OP6 with Android 9. Anybody knows how this happens? [link] [comments]
Consequences of using a damaged charging cable Posted: 03 Oct 2018 06:38 PM PDT Hi, I'm using a OnePlus 6 and I was wondering what the consequences would be if you were to use a charging cable which has been damaged by water for example. Could this cause any harm to the device/ battery and could it cause battery leakage or something like that? Would the cable even work if it could harm the device [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2018 06:24 PM PDT Recently both front and rear camera, as well as the flashlight has stopped working. Snapchat app stops responding, trying to use the Camera app gives an "Unknown Error" message. I've done a factory reset, which didnt immediately fix it, but it worked for a small period of time before stopping again. Anyone else encountered this problem or have a solution? OP5 Auto-Dim and Blue Tint after screen replacement? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 05:36 PM PDT A month ago I broke my LCD screen and just now got it fixed. In the meantime, I've been using my old S6, but now I have my OP5 back. I've had two problems since it was replaced: When I unlock my phone, no matter what brightness setting I set it to (I have auto-brightness off), the brightness is way dimmer than what I set it to. When I bring up the brightness management, it still is set to what I had it set to, but is still dim. If I touch the bar anywhere around where I had it, it will suddenly change to what it needs to be at. No matter what I try I cannot fix this. Secondly, there seems to be a blue tint now. When I compare it side-by-side with my S6, the colors seem to have a blue tint to them. It looks best in Night Mode strangely, but it still looks off. I've looked around for an answer as for why this is, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have any similar experience/know why this is? Thanks! EDIT: I did forget to say I also cleared my cache, and that did nothing sadly. :( The blue I think I can live with, but the brightness thing is super annoying. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2018 10:04 AM PDT I'm using OP6. I've been sharing hotspot to my laptop with oreo and everything was fine before the update. The hotspot dosent show up on the laptop anymore after i updated to pie. I've tried to switch from 5,0 Ghz to 2,4Ghz, changing/resetting the the apn settings but nothing seem to work. How do i get this back to normal? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Any way to get app badge notifications like those on iOS? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 01:37 PM PDT Anyone got any ideas? I'm not yet updated to 9. Edit: in particular things like emails and messages that show how many unread messages there are even if you open the app and then close it. [link] [comments]
OnePlus 6 hotspot not working after Android P update Posted: 03 Oct 2018 06:40 AM PDT I did some digging around, and it seems that not many people are having those issue. My WiFi hotspot was working before, and I used it every day for my work. After they updated, my laptop connects just fine but basically has no internet access. My wife connected with her Pixel 2 and verified that the hotspot had no access. Has anyone found a solution to this? So far, I've tried the following: - changing the hotspot name - resetting network settings - rebooting - factory reset - USB tethering with Horndis. - 2.4 GHz - IPv4 - Burning a thighbone for Zeus Almighty. I randomly cannot edit any videos I take Posted: 03 Oct 2018 10:55 AM PDT Recording videos from the default app then opening with the default gallery. I select edit, and a toast notification comes up "this video cannot be edited" It's driving me nuts [link] [comments]
Google Pay on Oneplus 6 Open Beta 4 Posted: 03 Oct 2018 07:01 AM PDT Does anyone know if this has been fixed? I didn't see any update on it in the update notes. I assume Google Pay must work with the stable version now. I'm trying to decide if I want to try to go back to stable or not because I like to use Google Pay. [link] [comments]
Wireless Bullets' silicone eartips replacement? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 04:33 PM PDT They're unacceptably loose and they've just slipped right off more times than I can count. Today my luck ran out and I wasn't able to find one that dropped, and now they're essentially useless because the largest tips were the only ones that fit. Anyone know how I would order replacement tips, or aftermarket alternatives? [link] [comments]
Slow unlocking 1+3 , need help Posted: 03 Oct 2018 04:25 PM PDT When I try to unlock it with either the side button or fingerprint it takes like 5 seconds for it to open up. Afterwards the screen works just fine with no lag what so ever. How do I identify if it's a hardware or software problem? Have this happened to someone else? I've tried shutting all apps down and just locking it then unlocking it, but it's just as slow. [link] [comments]
Oneplus 5t is downloading applications slow Posted: 03 Oct 2018 03:26 PM PDT I factory reset my phone to sell it to someone online. He's telling me now it's taking a long time to download apps on the store. Doesn't anyone know what the issue for this is? It's a brand new phone I used it for a week before switching to Google. Please let me know if anything can be done. Thank you [link] [comments]
Most up to date rooting guide for 3T? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 12:21 AM PDT Does anyone have a link to one? I have a 3T A3003, running OOS 5.0.6. I prefer to use Linux, but I have a Windows 7 install somewhere I can use. [link] [comments] |
