Nothing is muted. Volume is up. Have tried rebooting. Have tried cleaning headphone jack. Have tried HF widget. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
| Remove icon frames (Android Pie) Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:08 PM PDT I just got my new device - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. Great phone, stupid name. One thing is really bugging me. Some app icons have a white frame around them which I can't get rid of. I've gone through all the settings, and even installed a custom launcher (Nova) without success. This is what I received (LGV20 on T-Mobile.) I use the default messaging app on my phone, because when I use other messaging apps I don't receive all the messages sent to me until I check the default app, but this particular message is scrambled up in the other apps as well. Anyone experience anything like this? If so is there anything I can do to avoid this in the future? It's a little worrisome, and makes me wonder how many other times it's happened without me noticing [link] [comments]  |

| How to SIM unlock a Sprint S7? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:11 PM PDT So my uncle gave me his old S7 but it is SIM locked. It runs on sprint but they denied my unlock request. Is there any way to unlock it through third party software? (I have decent tech skills).Also my current phone is a straight talk phone(I think it runs off of verizon towers or somethin) and is it possible to take my current sim card and use it on the S7 if I manage to sim unlock it? Does it need to be a verizon phone for it to work with my current sim? If so is there a way around that? (It was from Sprint) [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 29 Oct 2018 03:26 PM PDT I came from a HTC EVO 3D, to more recently a Moto X Pure Edition. I had a failed attempt at getting the international Moto G6 Plus to work on my network; was only able to get 2G coverage. I've now owned the Essential phone for less than 4 weeks, and will be returning it. The battery is draining at rapid rates (might be a Pie issue, I'm not sure), poor cell reception under T-Mobile's network, weak wifi connection, and, I despise the camera. I'm considering the Nokia 7.1 Any phone advice or suggestions? [link] [comments]  |
| How does android handle the android folder? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 02:56 PM PDT I noticed that after a reset of a phone without wiping personal data, that the android folder was still full with data that belonged to apps prior of the reset. I ended up deleting the folder myself and doing another reset. So, does android clean that folder up by itself normally? Cause normally when we delete an app, the corresponding folder will be deleted as well [link] [comments]  |

I know I can configure the screen to turn on when a notification comes in, but I'm looking for something:

Posted: 29 Oct 2018 01:59 PM PDT Just bought a new car (Jaguar) and phone (pixel 1 XL) won't stay connected to Bluetooth Connects for maybe 30 seconds then disconnects and reconnects about every 30 seconds after that continuously I thought it was just my phone but my friend just got the new pixel 3 and the same thing happens Google search shows a ton of Jags have this problem. What I can't seem to find is if it's specific to Pixels or ALL Androids REALLY don't wanna have to switch to iPhone (my wife's iPhone works just fine with the car) Pixel 3 doesn't have a headphone jack or it wouldn't be such a big deal Any ideas? | Nokia 8 Sirocco, Internet problems Posted: 29 Oct 2018 12:23 PM PDT Hello, first time ever posting on Reddit. Pleased to find this subreddit, hopefully this is the correct place to post. So to get to the point, I have a week old phone, Nokia 8 Sirocco, and it started acting up yesterday. Whenever the phone gets connected to the internet, be it via WiFi or mobile data, it crashes. Straight up, no exceptions, whenever it gets a connection it shuts down. Only way for me to turn on the phone is to take out my SIM-card so it won't connect even for a second. I have tried: Factory reset User data wipe from recovery mode Clearing all caches So at this point my phone is stuck at the "Choose language" as after that it must get a connection to do rest of the settings, and when that happens, boot-loop begins. I am now ready to take it to the shop and get my money back or a free replacement phone as it still has warranty. But before I do that I thought to give it a try to ask reddit. | Uninstall installed APK of google play services Posted: 29 Oct 2018 12:09 PM PDT I installed an APK of the latest google play services on top of the pre-installed app on my unrooted Galaxy S7. If I look in settings, it tell me that it was installed as an APK, but I cannot uninstall it because it is a system app. Is there a way to unisntall the APK but not the original system app? EDIT: The issue has been resolved. It turns out Google Play Services is known as "Find My Device" in the system administrator settings. I had to disable it as an admin and then I could uninstall all updates, and I got an update prompt from the play store. [link] [comments]  |
| Microphone not picking up my voice Posted: 29 Oct 2018 11:56 AM PDT Hi, I need some help. I own a Samsung S7 and I've just recently started to experience some microphone issues. Both mics work fine in every app I've tried – like voice recorder and the standard video recorder, but on the the standard phone app the microphone does not seem to activate – as a result I can't take calls since the person on the other side can't hear me. I've tried both on speaker and non-speaker mode but the result is the same. Any tips that might solve the issue or narrow it down would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

There's not headphone jack. Any of you that have been using a phone without the headphone jack how are you dealing with it?

| Looking for suggestions on new flagship phone Posted: 29 Oct 2018 10:27 AM PDT Hi, So quick history, went from a long time iPhone user and switched to pixel 1 and had to convince my wife to do so. It was a decent transition. But I went through 3 phones and my wife 2. I had a string of bad luck with an issue that would mess up internally that caused the phone not to pick up my voice. On the pixel subreddit it seemed to be an issue that google wasn't acknowledging but many users were experiencing. Short of it I loved the phone, the finger print sensor and camera etc but they lost me as s customer with the customer service experience. I now use an old iPhone 6 that was laying around and want to get something new. I think I am going to go with the s10 Is that worth waiting for or should I give pixel another chance? I have Verizon but am thinking about switching to att later. Thoughts? [link] [comments]  |
