What's that one Android app you'll never regret having paid a few bucks for? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 02:54 AM PDT I regularly have around €10 from Google Rewards on my account but rarely come across a paid app anymore I want to spend it on. Any suggestions? How much has to be done for a phone NOT to be called a "incremental upgrade"? Posted: 29 Oct 2018 06:29 PM PDT I see alot of reviewers say this about the OnePlus 6T and honestly I don't get it. The 6T is a "S" upgrade I'm surprised at HOW much they have done with it. The Notch is one of the most elegant solutions out there AND it has a super fast in-screen fingerprint sensor. What has to be done for YOU to consider a phone more than a incremental upgrade? [link] [comments]

In praise of the Pixel Squeeze Feature Posted: 29 Oct 2018 08:23 AM PDT I just wanted to make a quick post in praise of the squeeze feature on the Pixel. My previous phone was an LG V20, which was great, but didn't have any convenient access feature for the assistant besides long-pressing the home button. I never used the assistant and viewed it more as a novelty feature. But the squeeze ability has changed my mind entirely. I live in the USA Northeast, so the ability to make a phone call or set an alarm without taking off my gloves is a game changer for me. The assistant has quickly become integrated in my daily routine simply by introducing this convince feature. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I really think this is a great, non-intrusive feature that I totally did not understand the value of until I had it. [link] [comments]
OnePlus 6T : Things that prevent you from buying Posted: 29 Oct 2018 11:59 AM PDT I would like to hear your thoughts on OnePlus devices so far (including the 6T). I don't know where else to post (r/OnePlus just denied me), but I hope that these kind of threads are under OnePlus' radar. Here are the things that come to my mind: Things that prevent me from buying: - Really bad speakers (since a really long time!) - Really bad microphone (extremely important for me in live shows) Things that make me hesitate: - Camera quality (Google and Samsung obviously both have an edge in AI because of R&D) - Fingerprint scanner quality (not weatherproof and less snappy) - No more headphone jack - Software support (long-term) Things that I don't care about: - Wireless charging - IP certification (it's already resistant, just no certification to save $$$) - Potential privacy issues - No QHD panel (more battery life) As for the notch, people don't want it. However, I much prefer to have this kind of notch than a mechanical front-facing camera that could break when dropped or on mechanical failure. So, until there is a better way to address this problem, I would much rather sacrifice the look of the phone for usability. I usually keep my phones until they die, so longevity of the product is a must for me (still rocking my Galaxy S4 here). Now waiting for your thoughts. Cheers! [link] [comments]
