- I keep getting chrome pop up and tabs opening like these every couple of minutes. All my apps are downloaded through play store. I've got an p20 on EE and using their lookout app scanning. Any ideas what could be causing it. It does it when I'm using Reddit YouTube Facebook.

| Samsung Galaxy S6 almost burned? Posted: 01 Sep 2018 05:15 PM PDT I was charging my S6 when I heard sparks (didn't actually see them, just noise) coming out of the mini USB entry and it smelled like something was getting burnt. I inmediatly pulled the charger out and the screen got black for about 2 seconds. I am currently charging the phone again with another cable and it seems to be fine but I'm worried about it and probably should take it to the store right? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 Sep 2018 05:57 PM PDT I've had a Moto G5 Plus with Verizon for the past year. Today, I started having trouble connecting to any apps. I restarted my phone and got an "unable to decrypt data" message stating that I needed to do a factory reset. I did so, and just about everything was restored properly. The only difference I can see is that I now have home, back, and open app icons on my screen. Before this was all done via the fingerprint sensor below the screen. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 09:46 PM PDT The main uses for the device will be Spotify for when I'm working out in my shop and as a wireless camera for when deer and other critters decide to take food from my garden. Other than the Stock OS, Spotify and any of the free camera apps on the App Store, any recommendations for the OS part? If stock is the way to go, then I am probably already good. An APK with the compatible architecture and DPI for my phone already exists, yet for some reason, there isn't any prompt for me to update yet on the Play Store. Posted: 01 Sep 2018 05:42 PM PDT So I'm an Apple fanboy, but considering Android has had wireless charging for way longer I thought I might ask here. I bought a Jackery battery bank which has the ability to wirelessly charge, and my thinking is that I leave it plugged into the wall and just place my phone on it overnight, then when I leave in the morning I just take both with me so I always have a battery bank and a charged phone. Is this a bad idea for the long term sustainability of the battery bank? I know it's quicker to get a fast charger and use that, but I will just use my 2.4A charge hub when I need to do that. | Posted: 01 Sep 2018 08:43 PM PDT I have an LG phone running Android 6.0, all updates applied. (Not rooted.) I want to use the SD card to transport a few hundred project files, some of which are photos and videos, but not have those show up in the gallery. The files are not so secret that I want to go to extraordinary lengths to encrypt them or rename them all. I just don't want them to clutter up the gallery. Googling suggests using a folder named .nomdia, putting a .nomedia file in the folder containing the files, or renaming the folder to start with a period (.). When I try to use the standard file manager to do any of those things I cannot use the period (.) at the start of the name; I get an error saying "invalid name." However, if I connect the phone to my Windows PC through the USB port and use Windows file explorer I can create a folder on the phone with a period as the first character and it successfully hides the contents from the gallery. So, is there a way to create the files/folders starting with a period (.) using regular Android 6.0 tools? What am I missing? Is there some other way to restrict what is displayed in the gallery. Is this just a restriction in Android 6.0? NOTE: Yes, I know I could put everything on a USB stick but it seemed like a good use of my phone's SD card, since I always have my phone handy. It cannot be trusted and may not work properly" It just constantly loops over and over. She swears she didn't try to mod or root anything and honestly she doesn't know how to do that. Over the next hours the screen also started to go black. I really need to access an app in it to be able recover an account and so I need to screen the phone's screen on my computer. | Posted: 01 Sep 2018 05:09 PM PDT I reset my encrypted stock Note 4 6.0.1's password. I am 100% certain that I am inputting the correct password. For the first couple decryptions, it worked flawlessly. Now, the same password simply does not work. I believe the password is 16 characters (the limit), but I did try to put in a 17th character originally. I don't see why this would affect anything, but I may as well note it. I'm now down to 4 more tries before the phone gets wiped. Is there anything I can do at this point? [link] [comments]  |

After restarting I was able to log in the first time, but now I can't. I've tried so many times that it says I only have 4 more attempts left before the phone is wiped. What can I do? | OnePlus 5T: Samsung Internet browser won't request mobile site Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:29 PM PDT I have an issue that started a little while ago, where the Samsung Internet browser on my OnePlus 5T all of a sudden stopped requesting mobile sites. I've buggered around in all of the settings I can find (including uninstalling and reinstalling the app), and I don't seem to be able to change the way the browser works. While I'm not specifically attached to the Samsung browser, I do really like the fact that it has a browser navigation bar at the bottom meaning I can move forward, back, home etc easily. If no-one has any advice regarding how to fix the Samsung browser issue, I'd love to hear recommendations of other browsers which might work and have a navigation bar in a similar style. I want to get a copy of the save file for an app on it. The app refuses to run on rooted devices and is using increasingly complex detection mechanisms to block root and emulators. I have considered:

I'm wondering if there's a way to make use of the rooting process to gain access to the file system then pull out without making any modifications, but I'd like to know if this is even technically feasible or if there are any better alternatives before spending more time on it.
