Posted: 09 Aug 2018 11:17 AM PDT I built my PC about 2 years ago, with updating some parts here and there since. One problem I have had since day one however is that it freezes sometimes when I'm playing a game with decent graphics under load. This has happened through 3 different graphics cards, a 980, 980ti, and now a 1070, so I do not believe that is the issue. I have always assumed it was because the CPU is getting too hot, however I have never seen the temp get above 78C even at freeze. My BIOS is set to alert me if temp ever reaches 85C, and thats never happened. I also just changed my thermal paste and it did seem to help for a bit but now it's back to normal. My specs are as follows:
At freeze my temps were:

Worse performance after upgrading graphics card? Posted: 09 Aug 2018 08:00 AM PDT Speccy (PSU is a Corsair CX600M)UserBenchmark
Since upgrading from a AMD Radeon R9280 to a new Zotac GTX 1060 I have been experiencing less consistent and sometimes even worse performance across multiple games, mainly CS:GO. Main symptoms include stuttering/freezing (anywhere between a few frames to 4-5 seconds at a time), inconsistent fps (from 300 to 150 in a matter of seconds), occasional crashes and long quit/tab/load times. I've also noticed less consistent CPU, memory and disk usage in task manager, disk in particular varies wildly for seemingly no reason. What I've tried so far:
I believe some of these fixes have slightly improved performance, I have not crashed for a while, there is still the occasional stutter/freeze though and my FPS still varies a lot. Some things to keep in mind:
Some questions:
I greatly appreciate any help I receive. Sorry for the essay, hopefully it's formatted well enough to be legible and/or easy to find relevant info. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||||||||

Posted: 09 Aug 2018 06:29 AM PDT I was playing Warframe and noticed every now and then the graphics would get thick lined. Think Borderlands. This has happened before. I assumed it was due to lag. The last time the PC abruptly just turned off. I checked some logs and saw my NB was getting super hot. Adjusted fan flow and settings in BIOS. Now, HWMonitor is know for having inaccurate readings for the sensor that's supposed to be assigned to the NB. This time it abruptly went to BSOD. Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:09 PM PDT So everytime I start my game, the Antimalware Service Executable (ASE) starts hogging all of my resources. But everytime I try to 'end task' on it, it gives me https://i.imgur.com/Dkef1pp.png I've looked around on multiple sites, but they've only tried to explain how to turn Windows Defender off, which I don't want to do. What I want, is to have the permissions to do whatever I want with my computer. Its old and slow, which is why having ASE take up more than ten percent CPU and RAM is ridiculous. Please tell me someone has a solution? [link] [comments] |
