Posted: 04 Jul 2018 04:31 PM PDT I want to be able to control the LEDs on my Blackwidow Chroma through Razer Synapse again by default, but ever since I used MSI Gaming App, it keeps taking over and controlling the LEDs. I've uninstalled MSI Gaming App and that lets Razer Synapse hook back to my keyboard LED's, but as soon as I re-install it, MSI Gaming app takes control again. Anyone have a fix for this? EDIT: Fixed. Synapse has a tab called Chroma Apps that lets other 3rd party programs control the lighting effects. Went to Chroma Apps tab and disabled MSI_LED.exe, which lets Synapse become default again. Searched the Razer subreddit for this answer and hopefully this post helps someone else in the future. PC will sometimes not play audio or video until it's rebooted Posted: 04 Jul 2018 09:35 PM PDT Built a computer a few months back.
Use Windows 10 on it, mostly for gaming and VR. At some point, mostly after playing FIFA, the audio would cut completely. The first time it happened I thought maybe FIFA had fucked up, but when I tried to open videos locally or on Youtube, they wouldn't play. I'd just be a still image. After a reboot, everything would be fine. Sometimes it'd be fine for a week or a month, sometimes not even a day later. I actually had to format and wipe my Windows installation recently, so I thought maybe any problem would be gone. I updated ALL of my drivers and it never happened again. Until recently. I was playing Assassin's Creed Origins when BAM, no audio or videos. I can keep playing games just fine, it's just that the audio is 100% gone. Weirdly enough, Windows doesn't identify any problems with sounds. It'll still think I'm playing sounds, which makes me think that software wise, it's still running properly. If I leave my computer on like this, at some point it'll freeze entirely. I'm a little bit worried because now I'm thinking that since it happened on two clean installs of different Windows, then it must be a hardware issue. I sincerely doubt it has ANYTHING to do with drivers. Please help! [link] [comments]
Playstation 3d display as gaming monitor Posted: 04 Jul 2018 07:18 PM PDT Hello, I hope everyone is doing fantastic. So a couple of weeks ago I finally got a decent gaming pc and now I'm looking for a monitor. Before asking any question I'd like to point out a couple of things: I'm living in Venezuela, so it's not easy to find computer/gaming stuff and I'm looking for a cheap but decent option for a gaming monitor. So, some dude is selling me one of these Playstation 3d monitors. It's not about the price (which is decent btw), but if this monitor can be decent to play games like CSGO, Pubg and fortnite, that are the games I mostly play. Looking at the specs, this monitor is HDMI ONLY. This monitor is supposed to be 240hz, although I don't expect it to display that refresh rate at very high resolutions. Can this monitor actually display these kinds of refresh rates through HDMI? or would it be stuck at 60hz? Cuz I've read a lot about refresh rates and HDMI and honestly I'm completely confused. Monitor specs: https://www.engadget.com/products/sony/playstation/3d/display/specs/ Thanks beforehand :) [link] [comments]
RAM stability problems on Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7. Posted: 04 Jul 2018 09:26 AM PDT Hello beautiful People! :D Last friday I put together my new Ryzen build.Firstly I installed Windows,optimized it and then overclocked my Ryzen 7 2700X(4,18GHZ;1,34-1,38V) and made sure that it's stable.Then I wanted to overclock my memory(G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GTZ) but I ran into problems.XMP profile just don't want to work at all(Freezes even in OCCT CPU test once after 30sec,and once after 7mins),I tried every clock speed from 3000-3600 and auto timings to make sure that RAM would work on that clock speed.Unfortunately it looks like it won't.I wrote an e-mail to Gigabyte support about it but I will have to wait atleast to 08.07 (due to their Holidays).I'm also on the newest Bios version.Memory works fine on 2133mhz but there is no way I would use them this way. So I know that there's a lot of amazing people here whose have knowledge about Ryzen platform and stabilizing RAM and maybe Someone know how to help me.There is no way I will wait for new BIOS version because I really need a working PC right now ( I still can return it,so if I wont fix it I probably will return it).Cheers Marcin [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2018 12:46 AM PDT I just installed a new motherboard to my computer, however whenever I start the computer it loads a black screen with a grey box and white chinese writing with a text input bit in the middle. Whenever I enter a password it just says the password is invalid. This happens right after prompting to enter the bios menu which I cannot get into and I cannot get past it to load the OS. Separate Audio Outputs possible? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 06:45 PM PDT I'm curious if it's possible to have 2 different sets of audio outputs, meaning speakers play one media while headphones play another media. Possible Y/N? If yes, what equipment/software is necessary to achieve this? [link] [comments]
I might have messed up, or not. I'm not sure. Posted: 04 Jul 2018 08:57 PM PDT So I'm running a windows 10 Acer laptop. I was running a lot of tasks, I was playing a game of Fortnite while playing a YouTube video in the background, and I believe I was installing GTA 5 (a 70gb game). Long story short, in frustration, I hit the side of my laptop next to my trackpad, a short while after my game freezes but the audio of my video was still playing and some of the ambience of the game was still playing but I couldn't alt tab out or ctrl alt delete so I held the power button down so I could reset. When I pressed the button again, I'm brought to the Acer logo with a thing under it saying "Scanning and Repairing Drive" and its currently at 53 percent, and it's been like that for a solid 15 minutes. Have I completely screwed myself over or am I ok? I've never hit my laptop, maybe like 1 other time, but I imagine it wouldn't be enough to actually destroy the hard drive. Is this a normal thing that happens? To be honest I was looking into desktops anyway. Edit: My fortnite match was also experiencing some hitching and frame drops near the beginning of the game. Edit 2: Yeah so my HDD is messed. It's sounding like a Geiger counter and I can't load into Windows. I'm am Dumbassius, the dumbest of asses. [link] [comments]
Chrome tabs keep reloading and I lose my information. How do I stop this? Posted: 04 Jul 2018 09:50 PM PDT I'll switch tabs and then go back to the tab I was on, and it will reload, making me lose whatever information I had on it (fillable form, video that was paused, timers, etc). I googled the issue and found this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/NzVRmfeHK44
So I've done this. And I see that it is 'disabled'. Yet tabs keep reloading. Seem like it's happening more often now. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2018 03:47 AM PDT Hey guys, just finished upgrading my CPU and motherboard and I have a strange issue that I don't know if I should be worried or not. When I do a complete shutdown and restart, everything works perfectly. However, if I enter BIOS setup or restart from Windows, the fans turn off for a second, CPU debug light comes on and than the boot sequence continues into Windows normally. The CPU debug light stays on during until I shut down the PC. I haven't run into issues once the PC is fully booted but the light is still on. I haven't noticed this issue initially with the F4 version of the BIOS but I think it started after flashing to F6. Flashing went without issues and booting was faster as it was supposed according to release notes. I've restore default settings and clear CMOS but it still does the same thing. What could be the cause of this issue? Should I worry about any of my hardware or could it just be a software bug? Here are my PC specs: i5-8400 Gigabyte GTX 1060 6gb G1 Gaming Aorus H370 gaming 3 wifi Hyper X 2x4gb @ 2133mHz EVGA G2 650W Corsair Force LE 240GB Windows 10 home edition build 1803 This is my first time posting on a forum so I'm not sure if i'm missing something, but lets give this a try. 2nd external monitor is forcibly disabled by Windows or not detected entirely when using DP+DVI Posted: 05 Jul 2018 03:23 AM PDT Hi. So I'm looking to understand why I can't output to two monitors that are connected to the two digital outputs on my laptop dock. The dock has a VGA, a DVI and a DP.
Any ideas on where the limitation is? Is it the chipset, the dock? [link] [comments]
Laptop screen keeps going black or laptop just turns off. Please Help! Posted: 04 Jul 2018 09:23 PM PDT Hi, I'm a college student. When I started school in August 2017 I bought an ASUS x555Q laptop running Windows 10. It worked perfectly fine until about June 2018. Early last month the screen started to turn black randomly. The backlight wouldn't dim or anything like that, the screen would just turn black. I either have to close the laptop of turn it off using the power button then turn it back on. Sometimes the entire computer just turns off and I have to press the power button to turn it back on. Since the problem started I haven't been able to use my laptop for longer than 40 minutes or so before one of the above happens. Can someone help? I go to school in Canada, but I'm currently at home in a country where there isn't much tech support. Please feel free to give me some ideas about what's happening and possible solutions. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Wireless PCI card not working as it should on one PC Posted: 05 Jul 2018 03:18 AM PDT I bought a PCI wireless card which is supposed to allow 450 mb/s and i installed it on my windows 10 machine. It works but my speed is more like 2mb/s. I thought at first it was faulty but I tried it on my windows 7 machine and it works at expected speeds. Any ideas on why this might be or how i can fix it? Laptop using wrong GPU on fullscreen gaming Posted: 05 Jul 2018 03:14 AM PDT Lenovo Y50-70 with windows 10 64-bit. i7-4710HQ, gtx860m and integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600. Somehow, in games, my laptop is using the integrated graphics resulting in very poor fps. This is only when using fullscreen-mode, in windowed it starts using gtx860m with proper fps. I can clearly see this on task manager's performance tab. On fullscreen, IG is around 100% and dedicated near zero. On windowed, IG around zero and dedicated on typical 30-50% on these games. Weirdly enough, this is not in all games! For example F1 2017 is running like a charm but Minimetro isn't. What I have done with no help;
I am getting desperate! [link] [comments]

RAM issue (usage or insttability) Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:57 AM PDT Hello everyone! I have a wierd problem regarding what I suspect would be the RAM. So I have a 2400G with a Strix X470-F and 2x4Gb of 3200 rated Hynix M-die ram. Now after I set up my computer a while ago, I tried enabling XMP and it seemed to work fine, then I tried tuning the loose timings down using the RAM calculator. It seemed fine, I ran Prime for more than an hour, tried Memtest, and it also came out clean. Then fast forward a week or two, I started getting some serious stutter at random points, and rarely some artifacts on the screen. Now I think it almost always happened with either Chrome and/or Spotify. If I didn't close something during that stutter, and maybe even tried to play song the system would completely freeze, and I would have to reboot. Now during this stutter I sometimes opened task manager to check if there's something off, and almost always the memory usage would be through the roof at 98% or so. I tried some tips reducing the RAM usage of Chrome, but it stil uses like 50% with 4 tabs open, and the strange thing is that the task manager says that circa 2gb of ram used makes up for 50% of my total ram usage (picture). System information recognizes all 8 gb of my RAM, and gaming seems smooth, never had a freeze while gaming. I'm on the latest bios, radeon driver, and windows. Than you all for the help in advance! Need help with dota 2 freezing randomly. Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:45 AM PDT Hello, So I have been having a problem for quite some time.When I play dota 2, the game will randomly freeze sometimes. When this happens, the game seems like it minimises but the in game cursor is still there and I can hear the game still playing. I cannot click on anything as I only see the desktop but I can still hear the audio. I can also click buttons on my keyboard. When this happens i usually press f9 which pauses the game. And i need to close the game then restart it. When I go to task manager it does not say the game is not responding or anything. But I cannot get back into the game, as if I go back to it the desktop is still visible but the in game cursor comes back and I can hear the sounds. Also Ive noticed that there is a very small small box at top left of screen when this freeze occurs but goes away after i alt tab. I have tried a windows reinstall but it still is happening. I have ensured my nvidia graphics drivers are up to date using the nvidia geforce experience. I play on a monitor and i have checked if this only happens because of my hdmi or monitor but it still happens when using just my laptop screen. Anybody have any idea why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Here are my pc specs. Digital Transformation - Marathon or Sprint? Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:36 AM PDT So your Digital Transformation strategy is set and your Transformation objectives are clear: • Deliver faster, reliable and secure services for less cost • Deliver a modern and consumer-like user experience while interacting, requesting and consuming IT Services • Ensure that IT is well positioned to respond to customer demand • Drive more insightful and meaningful business partnering A Digital Transformation is typically a medium-to- long term commitment and therefore, it is more aligned to a marathon rather than a sprint. So what are the key considerations in preparing for a marathon? - Train hard and build mileage into your legs, map the course and your race-day strategy, and finally hunker down and start running. It doesn't matter how well-prepared you are; it's only a matter of time until the weariness kicks in and your stamina and ability to cope is tested. In contrast to undertaking a Transformation - while your planning and preparation can be executed well, the often long and hard 'benefits realisation' road can be a challenging one, overlaid with the ongoing need to navigate speed bumps while communicating progress clearly, can often slowly erode momentum. The other key consideration for a transformation is high focus on the Information Technology aspect. People tend to seek 'technology-based' solutions as a means of overcoming problems and challenges – and let's face it - it's easier to opt for what we naturally know? A successful Transformation requires a broader focus combined with rigorous determination. Why not consider establishing your transformation as a Relay? Relays create excitement and build momentum as they progress. The success of a relay team is based upon its ability to 'work together', which, in turn, is underpinned by strong and effective communications across the entire team. Each phase of the relay is focused on delivering to a specific and unique set of objectives with clear inputs and outputs. Preparation for each phase can be undertaken in parallel, allowing resources and skillsets to match the objectives of that phase. Digital TransformationEach phase works as its own 'ecosystem' anchored back to its objectives with a high emphasis on clear roles and clean transitions (baton exchanges) between phases building momentum throughout the transformation lifecycle. When there is clarity across the roles and responsibilities for each team member within each phase, the team is more likely to succeed. I'm a big fan of the analogies between sport and business success, there is much to learn from a well organised relay team in action! PC fan turns into hairdryer and then I lose display signals Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:27 AM PDT Hello, a couple of months back I experienced a problem with my computer. I was watching youtube and suddenly I hear this fan going max right before I lost display to both of my screens. I didn't think much of it as after I restarted my computer everything was working once again. However, lately I have experienced this on and off. Once a week and sometimes once a day. I have stress tested cpu, gpu and ram however, they were all stable during testing (temperatures was also low) Does anyone know what the problem could be? I do believe this happened after I installed my water cooler [link] [comments] |
