My phone keeps playing the universal studios theme song. Please help Posted: 02 Aug 2018 01:34 PM PDT About 7 months ago my phone started vibrating randomly and about 3 months ago my phone started to play the universal studios song. What I've done to try and fix it I've went through my Google chrome tabs and I only have two that will play sounds but they're both for watching anime and not owned by or have anything to do with universal studios. So then I downloaded some antivirus stuff off of the Google play store it didn't find anything. So I went through and checked my phones files manually just to make sure there wasn't anything that didn't belong and to hopefully stop it but to no avail. About my phone My phone is an alcatel My carrier is cricket [link] [comments] |

Just got a S9 and have a stupid question. Posted: 02 Aug 2018 03:48 PM PDT I just got a new phone. I have my fingerprint unlock set up, but if I let the screen timeout by itself (where it turns off the display after a few seconds of inactivity) and then I turn the display back on, it completely bypasses the fingerprint part and goes directly to my home screen. As in the phone is unlocked and completely usable. After this, if I press the side button to turn the phone off manually, then turn it back on, the finger print part comes up as normal. Is there a setting im missing or is there a way to make the phone lock even when the display is timed out? [link] [comments] |

Notification badges not showing on Gmail Posted: 02 Aug 2018 08:57 PM PDT So, I have switched to the darkside :) When I have the Gmail app on the homescreen or in the Dock I don't get the notification badge, while opening All apps I do. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Galaxy J7 stuck on infinite restart loop. I need text messages on the device for a court case. Posted: 02 Aug 2018 08:54 PM PDT Model Number: SM-J 700T When the phone is powered on, it shows this screen. It continues giving the impression that it's booting by showing this screen and then this screen and then this screen. However, after the "Android is starting" screen, it goes back to the Samsung logo screen and repeats indefinitely. The phone will not boot into safe mode. When I boot into recovery mode, it first shows this screen, and then the normal options screen. When I try to wipe the cache, it says "Cache wipe complete", but also "E: failed to find /misc partition", as seen here. The T-Mobile store wasn't able to help. Is there a way to recover the text messages and the contacts from the phone? [link] [comments] |
Xiaomi Vs Nokia on android one updates . Posted: 02 Aug 2018 08:39 PM PDT So considering that both the manufacturers are using android one as their preferred system for their devices (xiaomi only on the A1 and A2 ). Which OEM handles updates better ? I personally have used a Xiaomi android one device and was actually disappointed with the update roll outs. I haven't used a Nokia yet, but have heard that they handle updates quite well. What do you guys think ? Which OEM handles the android one update stream better ? [link] [comments] |
Best Android to get that for battery life and some other criteria Posted: 02 Aug 2018 08:19 PM PDT I need to replace my nexus 6p. I'll most likely get another android and I generally have the below criteria in mind. It'd be great if something satisfied all the criteria, but something that hits as many marks as possible is the idea. Criteria
I've left things like resolution of camera, type and speed of processor and screen curvature (if any); out of the equation above because as near as I can tell my needs were satisfied in that regard by most phones available 2 years ago and I'm assuming its unlikely that anything available now would be worse than that or worse than what I have now so I don't really care about them. The screen curvature thing too is just weird to me because I have no idea why that would be advantageous but if a phone has a curved screen it wouldn't stop me buying it. [link] [comments] |
I tried to add my school email to Gmail and it gave me this notification Posted: 02 Aug 2018 02:14 PM PDT http://imgur.com/gallery/T54evAN I'm a bit concerned about my privacy and I'm unsure how much control they want over my device. Does this mean they can do whatever they want with all my email accounts or just my school one? Can they delete and get anything from my device? I read the rules and I think I posted this in the right sub. Thanks [link] [comments] |
My chrome is 100% broken, taps won't work [note 8] Posted: 02 Aug 2018 08:07 PM PDT So about 2 months ago my chrome completely stopped working. Anything that isn't a webpage link is unclickable. For example, when I google the weather, the little widget that shows the slider and days is unclickable. I can't change the time or day, nothing happens. Then when I try, for example, google a question on a forum, going to the main link works, but when chrome has that list of related threads below, tapping on them does nothing. But worst of all, images doesn't do anything. Only the very first page/screen of pictures load, nothing else happens. Tapping on a picture does absolutely nothing. If I scroll down and tap on a picture near the bottom, it instantly jumps to the top of the page. What the fuck is going on? And no, reinstalling doesn't help [link] [comments] |
Where to buy an authentic Galaxy S5? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 02:04 PM PDT I'm thinking of getting a Galaxy S5 but my carrier (At&t) doesn't sell them anymore. I started looking around for 3rd party sellers but there are alot of fake phones being sold and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a reputable place I could buy one online. Thanks. easy way to create android APK's? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 10:17 AM PDT Hello, I'm interested in this MQTT Client on github. https://github.com/dc297/mqttclpro There is an equivalent google play version of this app, but has ads. The Github version is ad free, but requires you to generate your own APK. I tried installing Android Studio and tried making an APK, but it's pretty labor intensive and I must be doing something wrong. Searches for APK's for this MQTT client exist, but they're on sites that include the ad version of the APK. Is there an easy way of generating APK's from Github projects? Like maybe a Pi image that is just ready to go with lots of different versions of Android available? Or some cloud service that'll generate it for you? [link] [comments] |
LEDs are on but screen is black. Posted: 02 Aug 2018 07:19 PM PDT Like the title says I cannot access my phone and I have tried power and volume down, doesnt work. I have also tried system recovery but my phone doesnt go into system recovery and it never has. This issue has happened before and the person we got to fix it had to replace all of the phones files with original files but i dont know how to do this. [link] [comments] |

My mom says she got a google update and now this is permanently on her screen. Posted: 02 Aug 2018 07:29 AM PDT I cant find how to get rid of it. It reads text down the page, one word at a time. There's no button to open the app or get rid of the widget. Help? [link] [comments] |
Music files disappeared... A way to recover? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 05:36 PM PDT First of all, sorry if this is the wrong subreddit. Please let me know where else to post this if it does not fit here. So, apparently many of the songs on my Sony Xperia Z5 got deleted. I do not really know why. I think some other files also got deleted but the songs were most important to me (a few hundred MP3 and WAV files). Most of them were stored in the download folder. The only things I remember doing that could maybe have to do something with it is that I uninstalled chrome from my phone and the last time I unplugged my phone from my PC via USB I did it without the "safe" unplug mode. So I googled how to recover music files on android and tried out some techniques. But a few of them require rooting. (My phone is not rooted at the moment. Do you have any ideas on what I should try now? Is there anything I could do to maybe recover files without rooting my phone? Or if you think I should root it, can you recommend a certain way to do it? (I have not looked into this topic too much yet) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Aug 2018 01:32 PM PDT I have an old Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Wifi will disconnect and show "turned off." Hard reset, factory reset, forget network, add network, turned on wifi timer, turned off wifi timer, and turned on wifi "while sleeping" I have tried several options from android boards. Can't get the wifi to stay connected. It also searches for networks while connected. I want to use this as my streaming service device. A new tablet is a option, I just want to get all the use out of this tablet that I can before I retire it. Anyone have suggestions that I may have overlooked? [link] [comments] |
Possible to create notification "folders"? Posted: 02 Aug 2018 05:42 AM PDT I get alot of news notifications that bug me. I do not want to stop the notifications, but is it possible to create a notification "folder" where all of my news notifications are in so that it does not spam my pull-down notification panel? Iluminated bluetooth keyboard for android Posted: 02 Aug 2018 01:29 AM PDT A few years ago i bought this from ebay or some chinese site. Now i'm looking for something similar, a bluetooth keyboard useable with 2 hands when i set down my phone. Basically typing the same way as my phone in landscape mode but without using up screen space. Even tough a trackpad would be nice, i dont see how i'd be able to type with 2 hands. I already have a logitech anywhere mouse with bluetooth that works perfect. Any recommendations? (if this is in the wrong place, please tell me where to go) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Aug 2018 03:42 PM PDT Allright, where do I even begin? So after some unfortunate events, I had to use Odin to flash back the original software of my Samsung Galaxy S6 Android 7.0. That made me trip Knox, now I can't log into my account on the Galaxy Store, which is complete bullshit since you can do that on EVERY Android device that isn't Samsung, but If you have a Samsung phone with tripped Knox NOO you fucking can't log in, which in return makes me not being able to download any more watchfaces or apps for my Gear S2, making it pretty useless since I can't download Spotify or any watchfaces. Is there a way around this piece of shit Samsung crap? I can't flash a custom ROM since I have a Gear VR which I actively use. Please help, my Watch Is pretty useless without the Galaxy apps :( [link] [comments] |
Help changing download location on zte maven 3 (AT&T) Posted: 02 Aug 2018 09:44 AM PDT I've asked about this before, and I've looked on Tom's guide, youtube, and a handful of other sites for information on why downloads aren't going to my SD even after I changed the download location. Please help. I can't download anything and it's becoming quite frustrating. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Aug 2018 11:49 PM PDT Since two days ago my Gmail and among other apps have stopped working. I uninstalled it and installed it again and it's the same. I did a factory reset and it's the same. So, is this temporary? Is just a bug from my system or it won't work anymore? I took a video, can anyone help me ? My phone model is Hisense f23. It comes with Android 7.0 I did two factory resets one from my Android when was on. And the second one from my down volume button and power button. [link] [comments] |
