Apps not transferring from Internal Storage to SD card correctly? (Android Galaxy A5)

    Posted: 29 Jun 2018 07:40 AM PDT

So I play a decent amount of mobile games, namely Fate/Grand Order, Fire Emblem Heroes, Final Fantasy Dissidia Opera Omnia to name a few. I recently ordered a 64GB microSD card which finally arrived today, and so I started trying to transfer my apps.

Thing is, and I might just be missing something, it doesn't seem to fully work. Just taking Opera Omnia for instance, which is 1.9GB, even after I go into App Manager and move it's storage location to the SD card, my used internal storage doesn't seem to update at all. It appears that something has been moved into the SD card, since the used space did go up slightly, but I'm still sitting at a whopping 15/16GB used internal storage.

I did format the SD card before I started transferring files to it.

I was expecting everything to simply transfer over to the SD card when I selected the new storage location for it, and at first I wasn't sure if it was just the phone being slow at updating how much storage is actually used, but the issue remained even after I restarted my phone.

Am I just completely missing something?

Limited data when talking on the phone (Samsung Galaxy 8). Can it be fixed?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:32 AM PDT

Much like the title says. It takes longer to use some apps with limited data while of the phone and I was hoping there's a way to fix it. Probably this has been asked before, but I didn't find any similar post that is recent.

    S8+ crackling speaker

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 04:57 PM PDT

My s8+ randomly started crackling through the speaker and when listening to audio the speaker makes all sorts of weird noises that drown out the audio. If I bend the phone slightly it stops for a while. Any ideas? Board damage?

My AOD is way behind in updates

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 07:23 PM PDT

So I just noticed that my AOD is in version 3.2.29.2 which is pretty behind. Any reason why it won't update? I also have my note 8 up to date.

Adding +1 In front of contact numbers

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 12:32 PM PDT

So there's a new thing passed that you have to dial 1 when calling someone (even locally) so I was wondering if I need to add 1 to the beginning of all my contacts? Or will my phone just do it automatically when I call/text them? Another noob question I know.

    Long time usage question...

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 04:51 PM PDT

For those of you that have the S6/S7/S8 how is it holding up after a year of use?

I have the pixel 2 xl and I'm trying to decide between it and my s9+ so I'm gonna be asking the same thing over at r/GooglePixel.

I want a phone I can use for 2 years without having to worry about lag after a year or any kind of slowdowns and battery issues. I want the battery to last just as long as it does now (holy crap does mine last long) in a year.

Can I expect this from the S9+?

    S8+ Sound Fades

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 04:32 PM PDT

When using earbuds or bluetooth (I haven't tried just the phone speaker) the sound gets quiet like I'm receiving a notification and then 20 secs- minute or so later it goes back to normal.

I've tried changing my sound settings and it's still doing it.

It does it with Spotify and Stitcher. I don't really listen to anything else. Problem has been going on for 2-4 weeks and my phone is about a year old.

Are Samsung Notes are less prone to planned obsolecense than Samsung Galaxy?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 03:10 PM PDT

I spoke to a rep settling Samsung phones and he said that the technology in the Note series are more experimental and therefore the technology is more future proof than the Galaxy series. He also said that they don't look to make money with the Notes, but moreso the Galaxy. When I asked him how he knew, he told me he sees the internal workings and he just knows.

I was skeptical of him but curious now. How much of this is true?

    Samsung TV Nintendo Switch Issue

    Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:40 PM PDT

I have a UN65MU8000 and it typically recognizes all of my devices (Xbox, PS4, etc). Usually it will recognize the device and set the name of it automatically, and it creates a nice little app logo in the home menu.

However, for my Nintendo Switch, it keeps showing up as not recognized. I believe in the past it did recognize the Switch. I took my Switch to a friend's house with a Samsung TV and it recognized it just fine so I don't believe the console if the issue. TV is up-to-date as well.

Has anyone had this issue and knows a fix?
