Which of these 2 gaming laptops would you recommend? Posted: 31 May 2018 10:57 PM PDT https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6KLBR1/ref=twister_B0773KLGLS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 MSI has the 8th gen intel with 6 cores, as well as a 3ms response time as opposed to 5, but it has a slightly smaller screen, no g-sync. ASUS has G-sync, slightly larger screen Both have 120hz, GTX 1070's Is the ASUS worth it over the 8th gen and 3ms for the G-Sync? Or would it not really matter? [link] [comments] |

So here I come looking for guidance. I need a laptop (I will be travelling a bit so ye... laptop and since I like having a computer beside the work one...), able to process a decent amount of data in things like Power BI, Tableau. I also game quite a bit beside work (mostly Total war games or FFXIV). My budget is 1.6k I would say, and Im looking for something which wont die from overheating after 1 year. Am I asking for something impossible ? I need it for September so I dont know if Volta will be released by then... Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Inspiron 15" 5000 5577 Refurbished or Aspire E 15? Posted: 01 Jun 2018 12:41 AM PDT I'm planning to buy a laptop, which I want for college, mainly for video encoding, programming and occasionally some light gaming. The CPU of Aspire was slightly better than that of Inspiron's, but GTX 1050 4GB is clearly better. I found the Inspiron in the Dell Outlet for $586 and the Aspire E 15 for $600 at Amazon. I'm not very experienced in this as this is my first time buying a laptop. Also, I'm a bit afraid of outlet (refurbished: risks, etc.). Any advice would be gladly received.

Help me choose! Or recommend something completely different! Posted: 01 Jun 2018 04:01 AM PDT
I filled the questions above because I'm open for suggestions however I'm also practically dead set and torn between the Microsoft Surface Book 2 (GTX 1060, 256/512GB) and the New Razer Blade 15 (GTX 1070, 256/512GB). As I will be heading to Med School away from my hometown in the fall I kind of want my laptop to be both a work station for studying, note taking and whatever else Med School can throw at me while also doubling as my Entertainment Station so I can play some games in whatever short "free" time I might have. Also I've chosen both these computers not just on their specs but on their designs, both of them are conservative looking (except the Razer which has just enough amount of "Flare" I'm looking for) compared to most modern Gaming Laptops I've seen and prefer that sort of look. Surface book 2 vs MSI GS65 vs Dell XPS 15 9570 vs Gigabyte Aero 15X Posted: 31 May 2018 03:49 PM PDT Guys I cannot decide. I'm about to buy them all and just return them to test them out, just kidding I can't because they aren't all available in stores with a full return policy :( I want to use a lightweight laptop on my commute/travels for heavy Photoshop/lightroom use, some video editing in Premiere Pro, and 3D rendering using C4D Octane and Maya. I've tried out the Surface book 2, the touch feature is nice but I only use it like 30% of the time. It is good for drawing though, and everything seems to run smoothly on it, and I can get the 2 yr Microsoft warranty. Trackpad is great, but I feel like I can get higher specs though for a better price? I'm trying out the MSI now, waking it from sleep takes a minute, and I've had some weird issues already like chrome wont scroll and sometimes things get pressed that Idk how I pressed? I'm learning to work around the crappy trackpad, but the battery is dead in 4-5 hours of use. I also already noticed a dent above the keyboard -_-. But I do love the 32gb ram and 1070gpu and the 180 degree fold! We even tried VR on it and it rocked. I haven't gotten to try this one, but I Love that the Dell XPS has the i9 CPU (is it a big difference though?), the best battery between all of them, the 32GB ram, the color accurate monitor, and a touch screen...but the 1050ti for GPU kills it. Idk how well Octane will work on that kind of gpu…!! Gigabyte Aero 15x specs sound amazing spec wise, but I've just heard bad things about it being buggy? I can't even find it around NYC to test or even see in person, and their customer support is lacking? Not sure what to think about it... What do you guys suggest? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Looking for a gaming/CAD Laptop around/under $1500, in the US. Posted: 31 May 2018 07:46 PM PDT
$1500 max, US.
Windows
I'm in school for engineering, so I'll be using it for CAD, gaming and casual things.
The first game I'll be playing is EVE, I don't know much about the settings and FPS.
I've been looking into the MSI GP62 and the ASUS ROG. I want something with a 16gb of ram, 6gb vram, at least a gtx 1060, mixed SSD and a hard drive. Thanks a lot, all the suggestions will be taken into consideration! [link] [comments] |
Budget Laptop: Acer Swift 3 vs Ideapad 520S Posted: 31 May 2018 01:59 PM PDT These are the two UK best models for my current budget. However, I can't seem to choose. Both have identical specs, a 7th gen i3, 8 gigabytes of ram and Full HD IPS displays. No Dgpus on either. The Swift 3 is the 314-52 model. Thanks for your time. [link] [comments] |

Macbook Pro 13/15 vs Alienware 13 OLED vs Dell XPS 13/15 Posted: 31 May 2018 09:10 PM PDT
I'm going to be using the laptop mainly for coding, watching hulu or youtube, and maybe one day video/music production. I want the Alienware 13 because it has an OLED screen. And OLED screens are the best screens out. I'm all about colors. It'll also have better specs than for the low. I want the Macbook Pro because it's just really nice looking. Reliable. Thin. Dell XPS also looks nice. However, the Alienware has a better screen. [link] [comments] |
$500 budget large screen laptop able to handle Dead by Daylight with lots of storage [USA] Posted: 31 May 2018 08:56 PM PDT
$500 max, in the USA.
Best specifications for the money. Battery life isn't too important to me. No 2 in 1.
Not terribly important, a lower weight would be nice but it doesn't really matter too much to me.
Windows 10
Definitely prefer a larger screen size. 15in+
No editing, just basic microsoft programs.
Dead by Daylight, able to run highest settings if I want.
I'm a simple man so nothing really specific. A good keyboard would be nice. No touch screen preferred. Maybe a decent amount of USB ports. Reliable build for traveling overseas.
I'd like to use this laptop as a backup to my current, so I need a LOT of storage space. And obviously the cheaper, the better! I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks so much. [link] [comments] |
13-14 in Laptop for traveling $700-900 Posted: 31 May 2018 08:39 PM PDT
I would like the option to upgrade the ram and the storage. An nvme slot would be nice for a future upgrade. At least one usb type c and a headphone jack. Easily accessible and replaceable battery that I can quickly swap. It would be great to have a swappable rear battery so I can bring another battery with me. 8th gen processor and an ssd thats atleast 256 for the boot drive. An extra slot for an ssd would be great for a future upgrade. At least 8 gb ram. I am occasional required for a video conference so no awkward camera placement please. Dedicated gpu is not necessary. I am going to be using a mouse and keyboard thats plugged in via usb for longer trips so it needs atleast 2 usb ports.

Posted: 31 May 2018 08:33 PM PDT I'm looking to invest in a new laptop and I'd like to get some opinions. Looking for something small, either 11.6" or 13". Preferably 11. Must be touch screen. I don't play a lot of games, but it should be able to run games like Hearts of Iron or Total War smoothly (if not, that's fine). Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
