What do you guys think are the chances of Samsung ditching the edge screen on a flagship at some point?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 03:49 AM PDT

I had to send my galaxy in for repair so I borrowed my dad's iPhone 7 and I forget how nice it is to have a phone with a tempered glass screen protector, with my s7 edge I was always walking on eggshells. I hope they at least put out an edgeless phone alongside the flagships with similar specs.

    My s6has bricked

    Posted: 04 May 2018 04:26 AM PDT

Edit: It took 3 factory resets, but it finally works again!

Hey, not sure if this is the best place to post this so sorry if it isn't.

Yesterday, I was given a Gear VR as a gift, when using it, I would get a notification saying that the Gear needed to cool down after about 5 minutes of usage. When I unplugged my phone from the Gear, the screen wouldn't turn on.

Ever since then, I haven't been able to turn on my phone, the screen stays black and the charging light doesn't always come on.

I have tried using Smart Switch to recover my device but Smart Switch doesn't realise I have plugged my phone in. I have tried reinstalling the USB drivers.

I have also tried using a software called FoneLab to try and save my phone, but that hasn't worked either.

It told me to hold the power, volume down and home keys to enter download mode. It would begin downloading something but then fail. The software managed to get me off this screen but then my phone was stuck on the boot up screen.

How can I add both Canadian and US cards to Samsung Pay?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 07:19 AM PDT

I travel a lot in the USA. I have the option to add all my Canadian membership cards in Samsung Pay. But I can't seem to be able to add all my US membership cards at all, as there's no list for it.
    Only Canadian ones.

How can I do that? Thank you

    Posted: 04 May 2018 04:58 AM PDT

So earlier I used a needle to open the sim tray in my J7 Plus. Stupid I know. Unfortunately the needle broke inside, and is stuck now. Been trying to fish it out these past few hours. Any tips on how to remove this?

    Poor battery on my S8

    Posted: 04 May 2018 12:49 AM PDT

Hey, The battery life is terrible on my Galaxy S8. As you all know, the S8 has a 3000 mAh battery. The battery drops very quickly and I've got to charge it 2 times a day. I start my day at morning 9 a.m with 100% and by 4:30 I have 7-15%. I turned off Always on Display, I turned off Iris scanner, I used to have 120 apps now I have only 67, I put all the apps to sleep, the screen resolution is at FHD+ and my phone is always at Power Saving Mode (Minimum). I'd be thankful if someone helps me out with my battery issue.

    Need help with my S6

    Posted: 03 May 2018 02:13 PM PDT

So, as I reset my s6, sometimes "Samsung+" shows phone is rooted and sometimes not. It's weird. Then I get this message "unauthorized actions have been detected". I used a program on my desktop to extract info from this phone before I had reset it, but it seems like the program invisibly rooted the phone without my permission. I also used three apps to see if the phone is rooted or not, well 2 apps shows rooted and 1 shows "root is not properly installed". So make this story short, is there way to successfully unroot my s6, to make it look like the phone was never rooted and to make sure all applications work?

    Please help. Thanks

Is it worth upgrading from the S7 edge to the S9+?

    Posted: 04 May 2018 01:28 AM PDT

I'm considering trading my S7 edge and getting the S9+ instead; tbh the S7 runs great but I've had it for a while and the screen is slightly cracked on the side, is the S9+ worth the hype or should I stick to what I have?

Is there any other way to screenshot other than using the side of your hand? I know in settings you can turn that off but then what?

Samsung sent me a phone with a broken jack.

    Posted: 03 May 2018 11:45 PM PDT

About 3 - 4 months ago I broke my GS8+, had received a replacement device the next day with a broken jack. Called customer support and was told that I'd have to ship back both phones first in order for them to ship me the 2nd replacement. Couldn't stand being phoneless for the weekend so I started using my bluetooth headset instead. Now I'm thinking of trading in the phone for the S9+ but I'm worried that the phone will be considered a "damaged device". If I call Samsung now, will they issue me a free replacement, or will I have to pay another $99 deductible?

Edit: just realized, I've asked this question before, but it wasn't much help.

    S8 plus broken glass

    Posted: 03 May 2018 10:00 PM PDT

So I managed to drop my phone and break the front glass first time in my life. The LCD panel is still good, so I was thinking is it possible to replace the glass only? Wouldn't want to let the screen go to waste.

    Samsung rugged case, broken screen

    Posted: 03 May 2018 08:08 PM PDT

I accidentally dropped by S9 on the ground with the rugged case on (Samsung brand). The phone screen cracked. The height of the drop was around waist-high. What exactly is the rugged case supposed to protect?

How do you manually control the volume on a 50" LED tv?

    Posted: 03 May 2018 03:39 PM PDT

I purchased the tv in 2012, but I recently lost the remote. There are no touch buttons like on my newer 32". There is only a joystick that moves in 4 directions, no volume option there tho. Is there any way to adjust the volume?

iPhone user looking to switch to Samsung S9 how can I transfer my music photos etc...

    Posted: 03 May 2018 06:42 PM PDT

Hello, longtime iPhone user, finally fed up with my 6S due to its shoddy battery, I've been wanting to get a Samsung S9 and I was wondering how I could transfer stuff from my iPhone to the Samsung such as my photos and music primarily. If I still have songs on iTunes, I can still transfer them to the Samsung phone regardless cause it's an MP3 file. Any tips or advice would be absolutely helpful. Thank you!

    WebM Issues in Chrome (s9)

    Posted: 03 May 2018 06:29 PM PDT

Just dropped my moto x (probably the greatest phone I've ever owned) for this behemoth of a phone in the s9 (way too big folks). So far it's done a really good job of selling me, the only things I don't like are aesthetics, it is way too large and it doesn't need a beveled screen, or glass on the back.

Now to my post, when I try to view a webm in chrome it asks me to either open with video player (which doesn't work) or in Samsung Internet. I want neither of these, I want chrome to view the webm. Is there a workaround?

    Galaxy S8+ not updating

    Posted: 03 May 2018 06:18 PM PDT

My phone hasn't been updated since December 1, 2017. I contacted AT&T, they said they couldn't do anything for me, and that I should contact Samsung. I emailed them and am waiting for a response. My phone is behind by about 3 updates. I tried the Smart Switch and it says that my phone is up to date. I try to update on my phone and it says that it is up to date. Anyone know of a fix?

Can't open up S5 USB flap

    Posted: 03 May 2018 02:21 PM PDT

    Hi,

I've recently bought a used Samsung galaxy S5, I've never had a phone with USB flap (I had the S3, and the J3 before it). Now, I bite my nails, so it happens that I can't open up the flap (I use scissors now, but tomorrow I'll be out all day long and I can't carry them with me). Any suggestion? Thanks!
