Yup, we screwed up, we are very sorry. We fixed it and now .... we are back - The Solution Shop

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 05:05 PM PDT

As many of you know (we - The Solution Shop) had some problems around 2 months ago, leaving some customer waiting to get their orders. We have been working over the past few months to fix the problems and have been successful in doing so. We have since increased our dispatch within estimated time to over 98.6% and have been working on a number of changes to make sure we never have a problem again.

    These changes include:

    • Increasing our permanent stock buffer (so that if a supplier fails to deliver on time we don't send out orders late)
    • Insourcing part of our logistics network and ending our logistics contracts with SFC Services and TNT Express. We have since agreed to a new contract with DHL and will also be using Cathay Pacific Cargo and IAG Cargo (Rather than SFC) for our EU Express shipping program. Within Europe, we continue to use DHL, DPD and the EMS Parcel Network, as we never experienced problems with them.
    • Retraining all customer service staff with plans to increase the support team by 50% by the end of April.
    • Introducing daily calls between our Management team and our warehouses to ensure full operation.
    • Introducing a policy of complete transparency in delays - if we have a problem that is causing a group of orders to be delayed (rather than just isolated cases, which do unfortunately occur) it will be posted on our facebook & twitter, as well as all affected customers receiving personal email from our customer support team.

On another note, We have also decided to introduce free loaner phones for all phones sent in for repair. This will begin to be implemented for all new RMA requests starting the 25th of April.

As of Sunday the 22nd of April we have decreased all our prices across the board and they will stay here for at least 1 month, as a way to saying sorry for our series of massive mistakes.

    Thanks,
Ben Prater (CEO - The Solution Shop)

P.S I'm not going to link our store, that feels slightly obnoxious considering how bad we screwed up, if you want to find us, hit up google.

Techtablet: Mi Mix 2S Vs Redmi Note 5 Camera Comparison - It's A Draw!

So I'm considering upgrading to a better Xiaomi phone

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 03:38 PM PDT

Currently, I'm sitting pretty with a Redmi 3 Pro. After suffering horrible battery life in every single custom ROM for the device (the community for it has pretty much died by now), I've jumped back to MIUI and am pretty happy. The only thing I'm not so happy about is the fact that it's held back by being based on Lollipop. Limitations of Lollipop aside, the damn thing hasn't received a security update since January 2017 thanks to Google ignoring it.

So, after reviewing my potential choices for an upgrade from this lil runner, I've come back around to getting a second Xiaomi phone. Currently I'm eyeing up the Redmi Note 4/4X because it fits nicely within my budget and pretty much meets up my needs of "the phone I currently have, but better in a few details". My question is this; Would it be best to jump for the Note 4 (or 4X)? I read on the wiki that if I wanted a nicer camera and such, I should head toward the Mi 5 series but none of those have a micro SD card slot which is an instant no for me. Any suggestions on what might better (whilst also being around the same sorta price the Note 4 is currently going for)? Thanks!

Redmi Note 5 (Pro) with LTE Band-20 in pre-sale?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 04:31 PM PDT

    Hello, r/xiaomi!

I need to replace my current Redmi Note 3 SE. It served me well but the screen is all shattered and it just needs a replacement. Enters the Redmi Note 5 Pro, I really like that phone but I'm not buying it without LTE band-20 support. Now, I was expecting a global version much like my current RN3 Special Edition (Kate) sometime in the next months, but apparently there's already a version with LTE band-20 support in pre-sale.

Links here (I, in no way whatsoever, am related to these sellers, please don't take down the links):

Now, these phones are apparently called Redmi Note 5 (without the "Pro", just like in China), I thought the global version would be a "Pro" version as well? Also, I didn't read or hear any news about the pre-sale of a global B20 compatible version, but apparently here it is.

Is this real? Or is a trick to sell regular non-global RN5 without the buyer knowing until is too late? I know, I know, it sounds paranoid but I want to be sure. Thanks guys!

EDIT: fixed the bullets of the links list.

Any budget phone that's better than the RN5pro?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 12:33 AM PDT

I've decided to get the 5 pro, but I was wondering if there was a phone with better camera and battery, honestly that's all I care about right now, anything 4000mah or above should be fine.

Edit: thanks for the input guys, I've decided to go with the note 5 pro.

Best Gcam por for the Mi6?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 03:17 PM PDT

Hi, I'm recently using the latest BSG's port found at the suggested section of celsoazevedo, and it's working great overall, 12.2 mp works, portrait mode works amazing, although it only applies bokeh when it detectes a face, but the thing is, hdr+ is not as great as it was on mt lg g6, and I have the hdr setting at high, but it's not a great difference from miui stock camera, just a bit less overexposed, but the dynamic range in my g6 was night and day with the gcam port. The front camera tho is indeed a x100 improvement from miui stock, but the rear one... Is kind of the same, even with hdr+. So has anyone found a better working gcam app for the mi6? Maybe with some magisk modules? Thanks!!!

Mi A1: How to get rid of 'apps running in the background' notifications?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2018 05:22 AM PDT

Whenever I clear Whatsapp from the recents and next time I start the internet the notification of WhatsApp running in the background comes for few seconds and then I get messages. It is annoying me a lot. Also, a constant notif appears in the status bar for app lock and when I disable it the notif changes to app locj running in the background. It is infuriating as hell. I heard it is resolved in 8.1. Any solutions for 8.0?
