Product Sans font everywhere: do you like it? Posted: 27 Apr 2018 03:32 AM PDT When the Google Pixel was released, the Product Sans has been used as the default font for titles, headers, and the lock screen clock. But now, it seems that Google started using the font everywhere. There's also flashable zips in XDA to replace Roboto with Product Sans systemwide. [link] [comments] |
What is the best habit tracking app? Posted: 27 Apr 2018 10:21 AM PDT So far, I found Habithub, Habitbull, Loop and Habitica. Cannot decide between those, what recommendations would you have? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:33 AM PDT Let's say my app is called Full VR viewer. If VR compatible apps or functions are launched, I want the Full VR Viewer app to be temporarily deactivated either automatically or via a magnetic lever. The general phone interaction will be made via a single pointer in the center of the screen. The Full VR Viewer controls, like switching on/off in VR apps, if required will be in the bottom. All controls will use head tracking. This app will be useful for controlling the phone without taking the phone out. Please give me suggestions. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Apr 2018 09:07 PM PDT I am not sure if this is the right place to post this here and will gladly remove if its not appropriate but I want to let people know somehow that Shazam is doing some sketch shit. I don't use Shazam very often but I did for the first time in a long while (in probably about a year) this last Sunday and I haven't used it since. According to my phone, Shazam used 1.90 GB of data in the background in less than a week. I realize its my fault for not automatically blocking background data usage (which I have now) but this is absolutely insane. I do not have auto-shazam on or any other option on, which is why I didn't think to block its background usage since it shouldn't have any. I only found out because I ran out of data for the month just 2 days after my cycle renewed and I got a notification about it. Anyone know what it could possibly be doing in the background? I've already uninstalled and will never use it again. [link] [comments] |

Linux Deploy gave life to my old nexus. Try it out! Posted: 26 Apr 2018 04:38 PM PDT Linux deploy has allowed my old rooted nexus 7 become a portable PC. Worth a try! I wish android 8.0 wasn't so restrictive so I could use newer hardware though. [link] [comments] |

[REQUEST] Gmail alternative with more privacy Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:56 AM PDT I'm a bit of a privacy freak when it comes to the apps that I have on my phone, what information they can access and what they are synced to. Recently I got a notification on my phone advising me to download the map for a city where I would be traveling soon. I believe that it was only possible for my phone to know this information through the e-mails I've received on Gmail and using the Gmail app. This got me thinking that I should maybe try using a different app for reading my mails. So my question is: is there any mail app out there where I can receive my Gmail mails but wouldn't share any information/content with other apps (calendar, maps, etc.)? And yes, I am aware that if I am really concerned about my privacy I should just stop using Gmail. In fact I have already started using Protonmail but I need Gmail as I still receive some important e-mails on it. [link] [comments] |
Diary or journal app that allows multiple picture inserts Posted: 27 Apr 2018 04:58 AM PDT Can anybody recommend a diary or journal app that allows you to insert multiple photos in to the body of the text. Similar to how you would do it with Word. [link] [comments] |
Seeking a to-do/task manager that hides tasks until others are complete. Posted: 27 Apr 2018 08:56 AM PDT Not sure how to describe it better. I have several projects with various things needing to be done, however some can't be completed until prior tasks are done. I'd love a simple app I can keep a widget on the home screen for ( Not required ) or be able to open and see only the tasks I can complete now without having to manual hide / recreate tasks as some projects have overlapping tasks. I noticed Wunderlist can do sub tasks. My goal is to view an easy at a glance task list for projects which is condensed so I can quickly review what I can accomplish with the time I have but without the clutter of tasks that can't be completed yet. Alternatively I user Trello for most everything, however I've got so much board info that using it at a glance isn't super efficient without digging through like 5 different project boards. Welcome to suggestions! Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 10:11 AM PDT I'm looking for an app for a child that'll allow the phone to be controlled via parent's phone. Ideal scenario would be: the parent activates children's phone for like an hour so he/she can play games or surf the Internet. After set time phone shuts down and can't use app or make calls unless parent activates it again for a limited time. Unappriopriate sites contol would be nice too. Is there anything like this avaiable? [link] [comments] |

What's the best party Jukebox music app? Posted: 27 Apr 2018 12:25 AM PDT Looking for the best app to control music at a party thru one device. The closest I've used are Jukestar (as a spotify jukebox) and Slipstream (for on-device music files jukebox), and I was wondering if there was anything similar that works better? Ideally, I'm hoping for something that combines both of those apps. Something that can be voted on/added to by other devices easily, while also combining Spotify premium support and for on-device music being able to be added to the queue.... Or is that a pipe dream?
