| (Mostly) working camera app for 3/3t/5/5t without root Posted: 26 Apr 2018 02:16 AM PDT Hi everyone, as I'm sure a lot of you are aware, the camera app on the OP5T is terrible especially in low light and the panorama mode is a joke. I've been using Gmod5 for a while, but it's tricky to get the correct settings to make everything work. If you're looking for an alternative that's preconfigured to work with OP phones, I recommend you give Arnova's version a shot. Importantly for some people, this version does not require root or flashing any fixes via magisk etc. It can live alongside the stock camera app so you're not losing anything by giving it a try. You can get the latest version here (v7 beta 9 at the time of writing). Feel free to post your comments below describing what does or doesn't work for the various models. I'm updating this post as people report their experiences. This app is currently in development, and Arnova states in the changelog that he will be focusing on the front camera in the next update. | OnePlus 5T - Screen randomly turning on while on desk Posted: 26 Apr 2018 04:04 PM PDT So yeah, while I'm studying or browsing the web on my computer I sometimes notice the screen on my phone turning on by itself. It's just the display that turns on and then shows the lock screen, which then goes on to try and face-detect but is obviously unable to. Sometimes when I'm at work or some places the internet stops working and I need to restart or to enable and after disable the airplane mode to make it work again. If I disable the mobile data and enable it again is not working , the only solutions is to restart the phone or airplane mode . Internet provider is Voxi , service by Vodafone UK. | Problems are snowballing on my 5T Posted: 26 Apr 2018 03:05 AM PDT I've had this phone since release. It has worked flawlessly until a month ago or so, that's when problems started to appear.
As for the random shutdowns, it was partly solved by turning off the Pocket Mode feature. Still happens, but not as frequently. Now, a few days ago I wasn't able to send picture or video snaps anymore. As of today, I can't even open the app as it instantly crashes (I've restarted my phone without success). It works on the initial install but then fails to pick up any new voicemails from then on out. I also tried Youmail and Google Voice and they both fail on setup. They're spending a few months in Canada and since they've been there Wifi calling won't automatically turn on when connected to wifi(set to wifi preferred). Phone restarted, network settings reset, verified proper settings, but the only way to force it to turn on is putting phone into airplane mode and then turning on wifi. Once it's activated you can turn airplane mode off and it stays/works fine, but every new access point it drops VoWifi and won't pick it up until it's forced. I don't have any problems stateside, and I don't recall them mentioning any problems before they left. Weird. They'll be gettin OP6 next month, but annoying for the time being. Any thoughts?
